Is this the official third single?
I figured "The Battle For Everything" was pretty much through with in promotion after "The Devil in the Wishing Well" failed to follow up the success of "100 Years"
I think it'd make sense personally to release another single to AC radio.
Sincerely, Noah Eaton

A shame, "The Battle Of Everything" was a great album, with actually great songs like "One More For Love" or "The Devil in the Wishing Wheel"... do you think this album was promoted in the good way?

A shame, "The Battle Of Everything" was a great album, with actually great songs like "One More For Love" or "The Devil in the Wishing Wheel"... do you think this album was promoted in the good way? Well, it wasn't received well at all critically (44 Score on Metacritic) plus Five For Fighting just hasn't been pushed commerically very much to begin with. "Americatown" spawned a hit single ("Superman") but it sold kind of like how Gavin DeGraw and Howie Day are selling now, where despite getting a hit single each, it isn't selling any records. I thought "Americatown" was very underappreciated. That sophomore release has a couple big mothholes ("Michael Jordan", "Out of Love") but it was a very decent album otherwise. The second single "Easy Tonight" is a well-written, underrated track that deserved much better, the title track kicks butt, "Something About You" was a destined follow-up hit that would have touched the hearts of many OC and Dawson Creek watchers, and then the rest of the album has a diversity of approaches, from the soft piano crafting on "The Last Great American" and "Love Song" to rocking out hard on "Boat Parade" I must confess I don't feel "The Battle For Everything" like I did "Americatown", but still he deserves more love than he's getting. I mean, come on. Is "100 Years" seriously one of the ten worst songs of 2004? I happen to think it's a lovely single that's heartfelt and poetic, in fact, one of the better singles of 2004. Maybe not top ten best, but one I enjoy listening to. "The Devil in the Wishing Well" was even better, in my opinion. And I believe "Dying" should be an AC single. In the end, I just think the album self-promoted itself off of "100 Years". I wouldn't blame Ondrasik if he's frustrated with the label right now. Sincerely, Noah Eaton

This is definitely Ondrasik's weakest single to date.
Here's how I'd rate the six singles from best to worst:
1: "The Devil In The Wishing Well": A 2: "Easy Tonight": A- 3: "Americatown": A- 4: "100 Years": B+ 5: "Superman (It's Not Easy)": B 6: "If God Made You": D+
It's truly the first single release from Five For Fighting I give a thumbs-down.
Sincerely, Noah Eaton

I'm quite disappointed in "If God Made You" as well. I didn't realize "Americatown" was a single released to radio. Metacritic is a site that compiles reviews of critics and calculates the average score for an album (they also do films). The address is: www.metacritic.com/.

"Americatown" was the third single from the album of the same name, though it didn't get anywhere except for a handful of Triple A spins. Good to know. I never really paid much attention to "Americatown" on the album, but I do think I liked it.
