I disagree with the BB reviewer.
EES is one of my favorite songs on her new CD. I don't find it shrill or incomprehensible. I think its awesome.
I also caught the video for it on VH1...its very cool. Its sort of like a reverse timeline going from the video for Everything all the way back to her dance pop days in Canada...to her childhood and all the while she is singing the song...they edited Alanis's mouth into the old videos.

"Out Is Through" is the second international single. And after DLing it, I have to say I prefer it to EES.

Out is Through was a DISASTER though. It totally flopped. Just in the UK or everywhere? Anyway, I don't think "OIT" would be a hit in the US either... I just like it a lot more than EES.

I think anything on this album would flop. They lead the album off with one of the most boring songs of her career and the album isn't all that radio friendly to begin with. Sadly, it's still better than her previous two albums.

I think the CD is very radio friendly. 'Excuses' would be great as a radio single if they didn't already do it before with 'Precious Illusions' and aside from the odd title, 'Doth I Protest Too Much' would work great on the radio. Throw in 'Not All Me' if you want to protray a pop Alanis or go more alternative with 'So Called Chaos'.

Sadly, it's still better than her previous two albums. I totally disagree, I don't think everything on this album would flop. I think it all depends on how EES does. If it does reasonably well...I think she can release DIPTM (bad title, good song), Excuses, or Spineless and do well. Those all seem radio friendly to me.

But "Precious Illusions" did nothing at radio. ??? It did in Canada and that's besides the point. It's still too similar.

I dunno what the hell they were thinking releasing OIT. It flopped big time everywhere, even here in Australia. THe lyrics just SUCK for radio, and many would find the chorus horrid.
I'm pretty sure EES will be the next International Release, and then i hope they go with either:
* Not All Me - Great Lyrics, Great sound. * Doth (maybe sped up a bit, and use the first chorus throughout the song. Would make a great single.) * Excuses - more radio friendly than PI
Knees of my bees would be a good 4th single.
They better not go cheap and release OIT after EES in the US. I have a BAD BAD feeling they will.
Any ideas why Maverick suck majorly at single selection? ???

You guys are craaaaazy. Doth I Protest Too Much is NOT AT ALL radio material. It will flop like a rock!!!!! So will Excuses, for sure!!!
Man, Not All Me and Spineless are fillers and they will pick zero adds.
There's just 1 radio friendly song in the whole album, and it's Out Is Through. I like the song, and I can't see why so many of you hate it.
But what Alanis really should do is release So-Called Chaos 2 months after 8 Easy Steps peaks. Even if the song seems to be not radio friendly, it is, no doubt about it, the only really worthy song in the album, and I do believe it could be a slow builder and maybe hit Hot Ac Top 20.

Fabio Agreed. Release it to Alternative and Hot AC the same time and to CHR/Pop maybe about 6 weeks later and start all of this in late October. 'So Called Chaos' could be a big hit!

I think Out Is Through is also a good song, I was wondering if they would make that the 3rd single, but guess not.
Knees Of My Bees- This is a song I don't like and it should never be a single.

How can you guys like Out Is Through!? I think its one of her worst songs...ever. And I am not surprised it flopped rather massively.

I love 'Out Is Through'. One of my favourites on the album. I like it more than 'Eight Easy Steps'.

I love 'Out is Through' One of my faves too. But it has flopped worldwide, why would America be any different? Anyway, it's too standard Alanis, musically and especially lyrically. Radio just isn't buying that nowadays.
'So Called Chaos' is, for me, the worst track on the album. I'd HATE to have it as a single.

I thought Alanis's performace of 8ES on the Radio Music Awards last night was awesome. :) Do you think this will help the single on the radio at all? Or do you think its too late? I thought she looked great by the way.
