Not sure what forum this should go in, but since it's a VH1 hit I figured HAC gets it. What's the deal with this song? It definitely deserves success so I'm happy that Vh1 at least is playing it, but has it been sent to any radio format? It's a too Poppy for Alternative, too Dancy for HAC, and just too different for Pop (at least according to the standards of radio ) Also, what's the deal with Jem? Has she been around ahwile? Where is she from?

Oooo, Jem, she's totally outrageous... Oh sorry... This song was sent to AAA where it peaked in the top 20. I never heard the song personally, but we have the album at KCSU. I should check it out.

This song has been rising and falling on Triple A for months. I've been following it since I found the song on a Promo-type CD in a magazine a couple months ago. It made my personal chart Top 10 too. I think it's great! I wanna hear more from her without buying her CD... unless I like the next single then I probably will.

This did really well for me (Top 10) as well... and I like the CD quite a bit. It has a pretty good variety of sounds on it, though nothing too "heavy". It's a good disc to chill out to.
The Max - I can send you some other tracks off of it - just look for me online!

I think just like Los Lonely Boys' "Heaven", this is going to have a wonderful second wind.
With Jem getting a huge cult buzz, I can see "They" being raised from the dead and re-surfacing on Triple A, then crossing over to Hot AC, and possibly some limited exposure on CHR/Pop.
Sincerely, Noah Eaton

Just noticed this is #5 New & Active on the R&R Chart this week. It is on 11 HAC stations as of now.

This song is hanging around forever and going nowhere! A month later and its still #1 N&A. Though she still isn't taking off, I still believe she'll suddenly emerge. Jem is getting rave reviews and word of mouth is spreading. I think it'll finally serve her well come autumn. Sincerely, Noah Eaton

Fans of Dido will like Jem. I think she'll eventually have a hit too. Maybe not with 'They' but a future single. Maybe in mid-2005 or so.
Her CD is surprisingly catchy. It's pop but the good kind.

Stumbled upon this song a few days ago, and I love it. Awesome song. Normally don't like euro-pop, but this song just clicked.
btw... I also did some research after hearing the song. She's apparently a singer-songwriter from Wales and is signed to the same label as Gov't Mule. She's also been touring with DMB.

I love this song right now! It's like a mix of Dido, Sarah McLachlan, and Enya put together!

This is definitely an alternative song, and I say that only because, like The Duality of Man said, KNDD played the hell out of this for a while, though I occasionally heard it on KMTT The Mountain.
I call this song "The Oompa-Loompa Song" because it sounds like a song out of Willy Wonka. Does anyone know the name of the classical song that she used for the melody?

MTV Hits plays this video, but who knows how many people that channel actually reaches. MTV or MTV2 aren't playing this, they should. Then again, it wouldn't mean much since videos only run for a few short hours in the morning anyway.

I love JEM!!! I'm surprised more people have not tuned into her after she did the song of Paul Mccartney's "Maybe I'm Amazed" on the Season finale of the O.C. tv show last year. That was Jem playin at the wedding. I have a version of the song, with the characters from the shows dialougue mixed through the song.
Much Love, DavidSask

I love JEM!!!Β I'm surprised more people have not tuned into her after she did the song of Paul Mccartney's "Maybe I'm Amazed" on the Season finale of the O.C. tv show last year.Β That was Jem playin at the wedding.Β I have a version of the song, with the characters from the shows dialougue mixed through the song. Well, if The O.C. could make hits, Rooney and Phantom Planet would have #1's and Jeff Buckley's version of Hallelujah would be cracking the top 10 right about now. :) As for "They", a friend of mine is obsessed with this song, and I've heard it on XM, but I can't for the life of me remember what it sounds like. I think I liked the song, but if I as a chart-geek can't even remember what this sounds like after repeated listens, then it's going to take a loooooooooooong time to catch on with the general public.
