This is still hot in my station... Being played all the time! WTMX can put some really minor hits in heavy rotation though (actually I think that's a good thing) - I remember when they had "The Great Divide" by Scott Stapp in heavy rotation for months

^ I think now that the hype is over for this song, the bullet will keep shrinking.
BTW, I loved "The Great Divide", one of my favorites from early 2006. Was hit a big hit on AAA?

I loved that song too - I think Scott Stapp got shafted somehow...it's always suspicious when a song is a huge it in one city (like Chicago) but mysteriously not a hit anywhere else
Anyhow, it wasn't a hit anywhere - I think it edged into the Top 40 on HAC - don't think Triple A touched it (not surprised b/c I don't remember Triple A playin "Higher" or "My Sacrifice") - I was disappointed that Alternative barely touched it

^ I think now that the hype is over for this song, the bullet will keep shrinking. Let's hope so. I'm really disappointed that a band with immense talent waited 4 years to release anything new, and this is the only thing they could come up with for their 1st single in nearly 4 years. >:( I'm hoping the rest of their CD will be better.

The song is doing fine. #7 On the chart and the video hasn't even come out yet. I also hear it's going to be the song used by CBS during the US Open to highlight the women's matches so that is a hell of a lot of exposure.
It's getting lots of play around these parts.

MB20 will be calling in to several stations today. Video out on Saturday. Looks like promo is starting to begin. They released the song too soon and put the breaks on it. I look for things to start picking up in the next few weeks. Song still isn't available for downloading yet.

This is really slowing down on CHR (only +77 points)...I'm also havin trouble picturing a huge hit with the chorus lyrics "I believe the world is burning to the ground" - I think it'll slow down really soon on HAC

Check out this new video of the guys in the studio. I can't wait to hear this acoustic little song. A complete about face from HFWC. That's what a love about this band...you never know quite what to expect from them. www.matchboxtwenty.com/

The new video for the song premiered today and it's a friggin fantastic video. Totally enhances the song's meaning. Major bravos to the band and the video directors.

I fear it'll go right over the top of most posters here but I imagine that they'll be picking up a lot of new fans. A lot of the scenes seemed to be geared toward Europe. I think they'll make a big push on this song to really break the band in Eastern Europe/Germany. A+ video. The live segments is what sets this band apart from many others. There's actually some personality and character that comes out when they perform. Rob is great and loved Paul's guitar moves. He may not play like Pete Townsend but he's definitely going for his moves. LOL!

The article indicates that Exile On Mainstream will be a two disc set. The first disc will contain the 6 new tracks, while the second will hold 11 previous hits. That, to me, is a waste...I'd imagine they could fit all 17 songs onto one CD.

Why is that ridiculous? It's an EP. Most EP's only have 6 or 7 tracks. Hell of a lot better than only getting one new song on a CD of past hits. This way, those who don't want to listen to the hits that they already have on the original CD's can just listen to the new songs. Considering the record company had begged them to do a compliation CD, I'd say they are being incredibly generous while saving some songs for another matchbox CD down the road.

I thought she was sayin that it was a full length CD that only had 6 tracks

Haha, I'm a he, actually.
And it seems like a waste because you would think that all 17 songs would be able to fit on one CD. I don't think I'm in the minority when I say that, thanks to modern technology, I have no problem creating my own iTunes playlist or CD with the new tracks. Plus, I'm sure that they'll justify a higher price for the set because it's a two discer.

Plus, I'm sure that they'll justify a higher price for the set because it's a two discer. Like I said, I think the idea is to provide a separate disc of new music so that those who have all the old CD's can choose to listen to just the new stuff. I don't know about you, but I prefer to listen to "the hits" in their original order on the original CD's because I often prefer the album tracks over the radio singles plus I like listening to the music with the flow that the band intended to create. For someone new to matchbox, or who doesn't have all the CD's, the compilation is a good option. But I'm glad they are giving us new stuff on a separate CD. You can pre-order it on Amazon for 12.97. Considering all the stuff you're getting I don't think the cost is bad at all.

For those of you upset about the songs being on two dics, try buying the MVI version. All the MP3s will be on one disc with the videos, etc, on a second disc.
I just listened to 30 second clips of the 5 other songs. Nothing else is remoting close to HFWC. Actually, the other songs sound pretty mellow. Pretty good stuff and it does sound a lot more alternative/pop to me. The last album had a more classic rock feel. All Your Reasons will surely be the second single.

It lost its bullet there for a day but now it's back up to +36. So surprised how fast this slowed down on Hot AC. Especially since the video was just released. Hope it can regain some spins cuz most songs above it on the chart are all dropping. Maybe its success on iTunes will help it a bit.

Sorry to bring up another comparison...but anyone notice the verses sound like the verses in "Einstein On The Beach" by Counting Crows?

Yay, the bullet is up to +101. Considering it was losing spins just a few days back, that's great news. And a lot of songs losing spins ahead of it. How high do you think this will get on Hot AC?? It's #23 on Pop, which is great for them.

Heard it during the Denver game today on CBS. I heard it's going to be used during all the games on that network. I wonder if that's the first time the same song has been used by opposing networks.

I read that ESPN will also be using this song and one other throughout Monday Night Football in early October.
