I never really look at any of billboards.
But +60 is like her biggest bullet yet!

Where did White Houses peak at HAC?
In fact what's her history at the format?

Where did White Houses peak at HAC? In fact what's her history at the format? I'm curious as to what her history is as well. There are only links to the R&R Top 20. Vanessa has only had one top 20 solo hit. "A Thousand Miles" peaked at #2 in 2002. I'm not sure where "Ordinary Day," "Pretty Baby," and "White Houses" peaked, but I would imagine that they all made the top 40. It would be awesome if Vanessa could get a second top 20 solo hit.

Isn't it weird how 'A Thousand Miles' was a CHR #1 but a Hot AC #2?

Isn't it weird how 'A Thousand Miles' was a CHR #1 but a Hot AC #2? I think it's pretty weird too. However, "Soak Up The Sun" was the song that held "A Thousand Miles" back from hitting #1. More stations were probably willing to give extra spins to a veteran artist than a new artist. It seems like the exact opposite has happened this year...

I remember that... (2002 I think) - when Vanessa Carlton came out, CHR picked her up first (by far) I think cause she was so young - it was about the same time as "All You Wanted" by Michelle Branch and "Complicated" by Avril Lavigne, and Hot AC went for Michelle and Avril first (and "Soak Up The Sun") I remember people comparing Avril Lavigne, Michelle Branch, and Vanessa Carlton and mixing up which one was which - seems pretty funny now ![](http://yoursmiles.org/ssmile/fun/s0270.gif)

I haven't heard this yet... Does it sound good on radio? Well, so far it sounds good on VH-1, because no one is playing it around here yet in Chicago.

Big disparity though...Avril has about twice the total airplay of Michelle Branch, who has about 20 times the total airplay of Vanessa Carlton (sorry kinda made up those numbers but they sound right...) VC really hasn't done well on the charts since "Ordinary Day" - but you never know...

I'd say that's a horrible exageration.

I'd say so too, I would guess that "A Thousand Miles" is getting more recurrent/gold airplay than any other song by Avril Lavigne or Michelle Branch. The only other song that might be up there would be "Complicated." I'm sad to see it slip back to #31, but it should be able to move up to #29 in a few days. Hopefully Bon Jovi won't explode too much.
As far as recurrents go, I know that Goo Goo Dolls still have a few weeks to go and I'm not sure about The Fray, but it seems like that song has been around forever because it hung around the 50's and 60's for several weeks, so I'm not sure how many weeks they've been officially top 40/50.

She could pass the Fray regardless. Hopefully...haha

I still haven't touched this one on my station. It's a good song, but I gave it some test spins, and the listeners didn't take to it well.

I'd say so too, I would guess that "A Thousand Miles" is getting more recurrent/gold airplay than any other song by Avril Lavigne or Michelle Branch. It's really not an exaggeration at all - the ONLY HIT by Vanessa Carlton getting any recurrent airplay at all on Hot AC is "A Thousand Miles" Avril Lavigne's recurrent songs are "Complicated" "I'm With You" "Don't Tell Me" "My Happy Ending" and "Keep Holding On" Michelle Branch's recurrent songs are "Everywhere" "All You Wanted" "Goodbye To You" "Are You Happy Now" and "The Game Of Love" Sorry y'all Vanessa Carlton fans, but it's not even close...she's still basically a one-hit wonder on Hot AC - nowhere near the airplay of Michelle Branch, who has nowhere near the airplay (combined with CHR) of Avril Lavigne

That really shouldn't count IMO b/c all Vanessa Carlton does in that sound is sing "oh ba ba ba ba ba" in the background...and that's only on one of the two versions of the song - surprised she got credit on that one

I honestly don't think it would have done as good (at least on CHR/POP,) without her.
