Wow! This is the current third single in Europe and it's probably my favorite off of their latest album. I assume it will be their third release here even though Hands Open I don't think counts as a single considering they pretty much dumped it for Chasing Cars to be rushed this summer.
Here's the wild news. I know the album and UK version has Martha Wainwright, and she sounds great in the song, and their is a video and everything for it. However, when i was listening to my local DJ after playing Chasing Cars, he said tha their next release includes Sarah McLachlan and they are shooting the video right now for it. While I think this would be a great idea for the Hot AC market, I'm not so sure how good it would be for Altenrative, POP, and not to mention, let's remember that this is nothing official yet, this as official as the error on my XM titled "Poop and Pee" by Dido if anyoen saw that.
Either way, this is a really good song, I just don't know how I feel about Snow Patrol being known to this format with three slow songs, "Chasing Cars, Run, and Set Fire...". Even though I think the song has a wintry feel to it, I think maybe Hands Open or All I have should be released next.

This too is one of my favorite songs on the album, but I love it all! I was hoping for "You're All I Have" as the third single though. I could see Sarah McLachlan in this. It should sound great! But I agree about the performance on Pop and Alternative, they should probably go with "You're All I Have" for those formats.

I've been listening to this and I'm loving it more and more. I love Martha's vocals in this. They compliment the song the same way Dolly Parton compliments her duets with Kenny Rogers. This song is awesome!

Great song, even better than "Chasing Cars". Deserves to be HUGE.

I'd hate for Sarah McLachlan to replace Martha Wainwright on this track for a North American release. I think Wainwright's voice is the perfect contrast for Gary Lightbody's.

altough "Set the fire" is my fave song of the year, i always tought it wasn't commercial to be released as a single in the UK, imagine in the US! can't see that one in the Hot 100 for example, maybe they should go with somethin' more commercial, this album needs to go Platinum!

Awesome song but keep Martha! :( Although Sarah's great, Martha works perfectly here! Also, You're All I Have has a better chance at being a hit in the US.

Turns out that they're going for You're All I Have as it's been circulating on various promo websites.

And it's in the Triple A Top 30. I meant to make a topic for that last week but I forgot.

Ugh, I was really hoping Set Fire... would be the next single and Martha might get some well-deserved recognition.

This song is quickly becoming one of my most played songs on my iPod. Well, it still has a long way to go but if I could somehow measure weekly plays, this one would surely be #1!

Yeah, I'm a Johnny-come-lately to this track even though they've had four top-5 hits on my personal chart. It's my highest debut of the week at #20. They finally get their 5th top-20 hit from Eyes Open for me!

Mind you The Fray's "You Found Me" also went #1 on that format, and Matt Nathanson and Mat Kearney have also enjoyed more success here than any other format! ;) Sincerely, Lisping Hibiscus

Well, this song is old and I assume the only reason it's making a resurgence is due to its placement in the previews for Dear John? It would seem like Hot AC or a more female-driven format would play this as a result but Triple-A?
