Dang, it slowed down fast...the pace it's going on now looks like it'll barely crack the top 15. ??? 23 22 LIFEHOUSE Whatever It Takes 2007 Geffen 715 580 135 2.861 Yeah and it seems like it's screeching to a halt on CHR (+44 I think yesterday)...really thinkin they should've remixed "Broken" so it was more radio-friendly rather than goin with a more radio-friendly song that just IMO isn't as good a song

Now, "First Time" can run fully run its course at both formats and "Broken" will be able to climb with little if any burnout. I still haven't heard WIT on the radio...

Lifehouse is prob my fav band right now so really don't want to say this...but IMO this song is pretty weak, doesn't really get better with each listen like other Lifehouse songs do...and IMO it's kinda a rip-off of "Don't Go Away" by Oasis

I guess I can see how the chrous is "weak". An 8th grader could've written it...but I really like it.
Now I don't know if this deserves to do better than "Shadow of The Day" or "Sorry", but the fact that "Tattoo" is higher than this is what bothers me about Hot AC lately.

Tattoo's got really high callout - but this could still peak higher than Tattoo if it builds

Much better callout...if that's what u mean - the song is def. much more important to most listeners than the artist IMO There is a dance mix version of Tattoo - maybe you've heard that instead of the original cause the original IMO fits right in with HAC...at least no different than Natasha Bedingfield or Kelly Clarkson Really wishin Lifehouse would GET OFF THIS SONG and send out a radio-friendly edit of Broken or Storm

Weird, I think I like this now more than Broken. One thing about Broken (sorry to go off on tangent) is than KUDD/Salt Lake City STILL has it in heavy rotation...so basically it's been tested for months on a Hot AC station and must be gettin great callout there - how long they continue to keep it in heavy rotation IMO should be a good sign of the song's potential

It looks like by the end of the week this will be #16 since I'm pretty sure their other hit "First Time" will be going to recurrent, plus "Big Girls Don't Cry" is right behind it.

16 16 LIFEHOUSE Whatever It Takes 2007 Geffen/Interscope 1717 1505 212 7.081
It's starting to heat up here finally! It has the 3rd highest bullet, behind John Mayer's "Say" and "Feels Like Tonight" by Daughtry.

This is still maintaining a bullet on Pop, even if it's only +94. Where did "Breathing" peak at Hot AC? This looks strong enough to go top 10 on Hot AC now.
And in other Lifehouse news, after spinning this for over half a year, KUDD has sent "Broken" to the top of their playlist! 69 67 LIFEHOUSE Broken 2007 Geffen/Interscope 65 54 11 0.182

^So looks like Whatever It Takes is they're biggest follow-up single on HAC and CHR
BTW Broken is now #1 on KUDD/Salt Lake City (tied with WIT), where it's been Top 10 for months...hopin that means it's single material

I watched their Soundstage show on PBS last night. While I think they are a super nice bunch of guys, they just don't have it live. Good musicians but not great. Good lead singer but who is difficult to understand at times while singing and just really lacks any stage presense. Songs also tend to blend into one big song after awhile.
I think they will continue to have a career into their early 30s but this band hasn't improved much since I saw them open for MB20 several years ago. Even with a very good amount of radio play on HotAC and Pop over the years they just haven't broken big. What is their draw like when they headline? Are they basically still playing large clubs? I think this band is as big as it's going to get. A second moderate hit off this album may help sales for this album but it's not going to help them move up a notch as a viable career artist. It's a shame because you really want to root for good guys like this. They do come off very geniune when they perform which is a lot more than I can say for most larger bands these days. I'm also glad that they were given an opportunity to do a program such as Soundstage.
