She looked good in the video. Better than she has looked in a LONG time.
If "Your Body" isn't a hit I think it will be end game for her. It's the kind of thing where it seems like the only thing holding the song back is the name attached to it.

Sadly weight does matter to a certain extent when it comes to a public image for a public figure. We want her to be healthy first and foremost. Similarly, we don't want her to develop an eating disorder either trying to be what Hollywood, the magazines, etc. claim they should be so the public can aspire to be that. They photoshop and manipulate already thin/healthy weight people to look even smaller and more perfect than might even be possible. And society keeps demonizing female sexuality. When male artists take their shirts off and grab their crotch in a video, they are seen as powerful, virile, strong, masculine. But when a female artist dresses in a way that shows skin and expresses her sexuality, she is branded as a slut, a ho, desperate, trashy, etc. This is a horrible and disturbing double standard. The type of slutshaming that occurs in the media is absolutely disgusting. |

Her weight is only part of her problem, image wise - the bigger issue is how horridly she styles herself. She looks like a thirteen year old from South Jersey whose parents just let her start picking out her own clothes & make up. It's a pity because she's naturally very pretty - she looks great in certain scenes in the video for this song.
I'm not surprised this is tanking - people simply haven't been checking for her for ages at this point - but the song and video are her best in a long time. I haven't enjoyed something from her in a while so this has been a pleasant surprise.
