It's gonna be hard for this to turn around. Either way, she needs to do something to sell the album, cause even if this song is a hit, it doesn't strike me as something that would sell the album.

Why does she still even get coverage for her music? She hasn't been relevant in 6 or more years.

What kind of "coverage" is she getting, though? I mean, she's interviewed and gives ridiculous quotes, but like any other act, she's just discussing her upcoming project.
I don't see a big-sized hit happening with the album- perhaps another top 40 (or a little higher) Hot 100 entry.

Her new singles get press coverage by way of reviews, interviews with her, etc.
I am so over her using the term "risk" all of the dang time. She is so full of herself it's crazy. I guess that's the reason for her weight gain.

^She probably gets the coverage because she's a judge/mentor on a top-rated TV show right now. But, that doesn't mean the music will resonate with the music-buying/-listening public.

I believe that a lot of her problem is with her public personna. She's just not relatable and people don't care for her or her music anymore. It's really a shame.

Why wouldn't she get coverage? She's a once huge pop star trying to come back. She was on one of the biggest hits of 2011, she is a judge on a show that does extremely well in ratings, and the press has always eaten up everything she does. She isn't as popular but saying she hasn't been relevant in 6 years is just wrong.

^I gather he meant in terms of the last time she scored a notable radio hit as a lead act. Plus, she hasn't toured since 2007, either.

I wonder if "Your Body" will re-peak. It seems like radio is over the song already. Legend X needs to release a "Beautiful" type of ballad like she did with Stripped.

Geez what does this woman have to do to get a hit?... I just think her music is ahead of time. Future generations will look "Your Body" as a pop classic and that's what matters the most. Xtina always is experimenting and taking risks as an artist while the others are playing safe like always. Christina is a risk taker and her album will sell, she just needs a powerful ballad as a single. You lost me was just released at the wrong time :)

Look what happend to You Lost Me. Let's remember: Dirrty #48 Pop classic not matter the peak. Beautiful #2 Her signature song.

Your Body is not ahead of its time. Period. At all.
Plus why would anyone look back at a song that (let's assume this peaked) didn't even make top 20 as a "pop classic" ???

She hasn't had a big hit in such a long time though, her situation was very different then. Plus Beautiful is one of those songs that most likely only comes along once in a career. Just like We Belong Together. Ballads also aren't as big today unless you're Adele...or Katy (after a string of uptempo huge hits). I wouldn't even try releasing something slower until she has 2 decent sized hits.

It's not a bad track by any means, but it's typical Max-Martin fodder but with a foghorn vocal rather than deadpan vocal. I don't really see how that is 'ahead of it's time'?

If anything it's slightly behind it's time as the dance trend is trickling off.

What Xtina needs is a self-empowerment/female uptempo anthem in the same vein as Fighter or Can't Hold Us Down, or just a regular fun, upbeat pop love song like Ain't No Other Man. It's clear that radio listeners are not here for raunchy/sexy Xtina. All of her "sexy" singles have flopped on CHR (Dirrty, Candyman, NMT & it seems like YB is heading down the same path).

Releasing a ballad is the worst thing she could do right now. I fully expect that Sia ballad to come next, I wouldn't be surprised if her team thinks that's the right path for her. Anyway, it's a shame this isn't doing better. Unpopular opinion, but I think this song is miles better than the other female releases of the fall (Die Young, Diamonds, etc.), and I'm far bigger of a fan for those artists than I am for Christina. Not only that, but it's also a vast improvement over Not Myself Tonight. The fact that that might peak higher than this on Pop radio is a travesty.

DEAD at this! haha. I do agree about "You Lost Me" though. It should've been Bionics first single TBH.

Maybe ahead of it's time it's not the right way to say it. But IMO "Your Body" doesn't sound like the typical generic Max Martin song at all. I think Max saved his best work in years for Xtina. Tell me which other song sounds like "Your Body"? It's not like those Katy Perry / Ke$ha / Flo Rida rip-offs out there.

This reminds me of when Bey and her stans called Run the world a risk...its dance uptempo and a girl anthem :o She needs to get her appeal back. I really thought the voice would do it.

I mean it sounds incredibly shallow but I don't think there's really any disputing the messiness of her current image.

"She can't be huge, she's fat!" has been the general message I get from people who say that.
No disputing her messy image though.
