I think at this point they're more concerned with album sales. She couldn't even crack 300k last time, and the label makes more money with album sales. Perhaps they just want to focus their energy and effort into promoting the CD?

Then they are stupider than I could have even imagined because the best promo for a cd is a few hit singles. A promo blitz the week an album comes out is next to worthless when you have zero airplay and desperately need a hit to connect again. It may garner slightly higher debut sales, but will have absolutely no longevity at all-perhaps even worse than Bionic. Wow. I bet this cd won't even sell 300K if that is their "grand plan" lmao. It is just shocking that a professional record label would be that out of touch with the music industry.

RCA really is out of touch with reality. They don't even know what a hit single is. They're handling their clients since Clive Davis left and they merged with other record companies.

Maroon 5 has already announced when their performing their THIRD single from their album on The Voice. They've performed their current single on every season. Which obviously, good for Adam since he's using the platform. But it's fishy Adam already confirmed a performance for Daylight and Christina has announced zilch for Your Body.

Maroon 5 has been so smart with everything. I mean they've never NOT had success, they've always been a HAC staple, but they really used Adam being on The Voice as a big tool to launch them to much bigger success. I don't get why XTina isn't doing the same? You would think that they would at least mention Your Body or the new album.

So Xtina apparently has an exclusive first-live performance on The Voice deal with NBC, so we shouldn't expect anything until then.

Oh and this album is so definitlly getting pushed back to around december probably.

The album won't be getting pushed back. They didn't push back Bionic so they won't push this back either, especially so close to the release date. And if she's this nonchalant about promoting, as much as I would love her to have a future hit from this album, it probably won't happen. So a push back would lead to even lower sales.

Her 1st performance on The Voice won't be until the Live Rounds start. Stupid. She does have a SLEW of performances leading into the next year (with a possible NBC Special) but it may just be too little too late. I'm hopefully optimistic that it doesn't turn out like that.

I think the least they can do at this point is rush release a better second single next week with an iTunes front page ad advertising it and the album up for pre-order. CC deal, Voice performance, maybe a performance somewhere else, a radio station visit, the whole shindig. But I doubt they're gonna act that fast.

They should of at least put the album up for pre-order so people can at least SEE it's coming out. It's not like she's recording last minute ala Rihanna so they can't confirm a tracklist and put it up. It's just baffling how little has been done. :'(

Mind boggling!
The song was ready a long time ago, and I guess the label tested it enough to check PDs reactions and all and they were sure it was gonna smash (?). I was secretly hopping she could premiere at the end of the Voice's last season. Then some good iTunes ads, maybe tv shows or an awards show. Something!
Now, there is nothing at all! Radio tours? Banners? Ads? Use of song somewhere else? Video? (I think JLo had snippets AND videos shown in AI).
I really think this song is strong enough to reach a better peak (hey, even Enrique is doing better with a song that has performed slightly worse in iTunes), so it's really frustrating to see it underperform like this!

So if the first performance notion is true, I believe we've solved the problem here. Her team is still messy, but in a different, much worse way. They released the single WAY too early (possiblly expecting a slow climb, even though it isn't that kind of single...) and because of that there was no point she could promote it because the live parts of the voice had not started.

If this is the case she has one of the dumbest teams in the history of pop music.

In my opinion I feel like she and her team feel her selling power is bigger than it is due to the fact she's still an A Lister celebrity.
She still gets high profile gigs etc and I think her team still thinks that raido is still going to play a new XTina song because of it.

Because it's not doing well for an artist of Christina's stature but idk maybe some people are tracking it and would know where it would be but I think the Hot 100 is especially hard to predict now because of the new dumb streaming rule.

To think I thought this would be at least in the 20's on the Hot 100 right now... :'(
