Time for another josh list!

I haven't really done much work for this yet, but I wanted to let you all know it's happening so you can get crazy excited. ;) I'm also not sure how many songs I will do; I will figure that out once I have ordered the songs and pick a number. I'm thinking probably top 25 or so, but maybe 20 or 30 instead.

She has so many singles. The list from Wikipedia I used had 76 songs. 15 of which I don't have; mostly soundtrack singles. Gotta find those online and then start listening and ordering some more. I already know most of what will be on the list, just gotta figure out the bottom portion.

You'll find out eventually. I'll give some sort of sense how it's going to go, maybe x songs from 80s 90s 00s and 10s. Or maybe x songs per album, etc. Something I will decide once I am done.

So I downloaded the remaining singles I needed and have started my first listen-through. Going to weed out immediate no songs for the list, then at least one more listen of the top songs to order them. Hopefully start this by Sunday! :)

I only have 13 singles left on my initial run-through. After that it should be a pretty quick time sorting them. I can always decide on, say, 30 and order 30-25 and start it before finishing 24-1. So hopefully only a few more days.

Ok I had 44 songs on my list. It will be a top 40 list. I think I have the bottom 10 or so in order, so #40 should be up shortly!

#40. What It Feels Like For a Girl (Music)



Initially I was never drawn to this song. It has grown on me quite a bit since I first heard it. The production is so weird, but so good. I particularly like the part where Madonna sings "When you open up your mouth to speak, could you be a little weak?" I'm not exactly sure why I like it so much, but I do.

Ok so Wikipedia showed it got a remix for the single. Assuming that's what is showing in the video, not here for it. I mean it's alright but the original is miles better.

I love "What It Feels Like For A Girl"! Not her best or anything, but it's really good. Awesome video too.

#39. Girl Gone Wild (MDNA)



The best single (so far? Still hoping for an "I'm Addicted" or "I Don't Give A" release. ) from MDNA, by far. A shame it flopped, although that was to be expected when all the promo went to the much worse (I still enjoy it, though) song, "Give Me All Your Luvin'."

The music video is pretty good. Who doesn't love hot guys in their music videos?

#38. Drowned World / Substitute for Love (Ray of Light)



I must say, not too long ago I wasn't too fond of the songs on Ray of Light. I don't know what happened but I like the singles a lot more now. I need to listen to the full album some more; I feel like I would love it at this point. :)

Let's just say this is my least favorite of the Ray of Light singles, so you can expect to see the other 4 on the list.

The song is good, but at the same time it's also somewhat boring and forgettable, hence its pretty low ranking.

Tomorrow will be a song from way back around Madonna's debut. :)

Ray of Light is one of my favorite Madonna albums, and that song is great, although I agree that it's probably my least favorite of the singles (I might rank it higher than "Nothing Really Matters").
