Great chart! Can you put Tay back tho? I'm not even close to being over it, so we'll see. ;) I have a feeling "Just Give Me a Reason" is going to be skyrocketing here soon.

And just like that, Taylor Swift takes back the number one from Ke$ha and logs a seventh week on top, putting it in second place as the longest standing number one hit. First place also is held by Taylor Swift with nine weeks for "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together," which logs its 28th week on the chart this week and is certified diamond, becoming only the 19th song to do so. It will be a race between P!nk's "Try" and Taylor's own "I Knew You Were Trouble." to be the 20th diamond certified hit. The top three finally sees a shake up as "Don't You Worry Child" slips to number five. Taking its spot in the top three is Neon Tress and Kaskade's "Lessons in Love (All Day, All Night)." Right behind it, "Troublemaker" by Olly Murs and Flo Rida also moves up to a new peak at number four. Also reaching new peaks this week are "Daylight," "Stay," and "Tonight I'm Getting Over You." Kacey Musgraves takes a huge leap back into the top ten with "Merry Go 'Round," matching her old peak of number nine. She's not the only artist to return to a past peak. Ellie Goulding also moves back to number eight and a re-entry shakes up the entire chart. After the announcement of it being the album's third single and the release of its music video, P!nk and Nate Ruess's "Just Give Me a Reason" sees a huge resurgance and re-enters at number 16, which just so happens to be the song's original peak when The Truth About Love first dropped back in September 2012. Just three spots down at number 19 is a newbie to the chart. MKTO debut with their debut single, "Thank You." These two entries kick off Rihanna's number two smash, "Diamonds," and Kelly Clarkson's "My Country, 'Tis of Thee," which peaked at number 28 after hear performance of it at Obama's second presidential innauguration. Expect more shake ups next week! FOUR songs came in less than one point away from debuting the chart. These songs are Emeli Sandé's "Next to Me," Macklemore & Ryan Lewis's "Thrift Shop," Muse's "Madness," and Fall Out Boy's "My Songs Know What You Did In the Dark (Light Em Up)." Drop Out Runs: Kelly Clarkson - My Country, 'Tis of Thee 28 04 29-30-30-28Rihanna - Diamonds 02 19 19-12-5-7-9-6-2-2-3-5-7-6-6-9-16-20-21-18-25This Week's Flashback Tune:

Recap:
February 17: "C'mon" reaches atop! :o Great to see that "Don't You Worry Child" holds at #3 and "Troublemaker" climbs inside the Top 5. Nice jump from "Stay".
February 24: "I Knew You Were Trouble." is back at #1! 7 non-consecutive weeks atop! That's amazing. Great to see that "Just Give Me a Reason" re-enters, "Thank You" debuts and sad that "Don't You Worry Child" falls two spots. Expecting to see the debuts of "Next to Me", "Thrift Shop", "Madness" and ""My Songs Know What You Did In the Dark (Light Em Up)" soon. Nice flashback as well!

Austin, how do you tally your points for each week? How do you factor in personal taste, aside from iTunes spins and other variables?

Austin, how do you tally your points for each week? How do you factor in personal taste, aside from iTunes spins and other variables? It's all based on plays, but not quite in the way one might think. It all follows this formula: (plays in last three months X .25) + (plays in last month X .45) + (plays in last seven days X .3) = total points I find that this gives a very accurate representation of my taste. It's not just straight up last seven day plays, because I don't listen to music enough for that to work. If I did it that way, I'd currently have a two-way tie for #1 between "Thrift Shop" and "Next to Me," both of which aren't even on my top 30 this week. Why? I really love them, but I know that I don't love them enough to be that high on my chart yet. My original chart, the top 25, included only three month plays. Which at the time I thought was okay, but now I realize how off it actually was. My top ten would look like this: 1. IKYWT. 2. C'mon 3. DYWC 4. Troublemaker 5. Try 6. LIL(ADAN) 7. CMB 8. Crazy Kids 9. Gold Trans Am 10. TBC LOL @ the two Ke$ha tracks still being in the top ten using that method. My second method was a 60/40 split between three month and one month, which represented my taste a lot better. Using that method today, the top ten would be: 1. IKYWT. 2. C'mon 3. DYWC 4. LIL(ADAN) 5. Troublemaker 6. Daylight 7. CMB 8. JAF 9. F8 10. MGR Where in the world did "Daylight" come from? Lol. So that's when I implemented this new formula, which is almost perfect!

That Taylor reign just won't let up. "I Knew You Were Trouble." logs its eighth week on top of the chart, meaning it's now only one week away from tying the record, held by Taylor's own "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together," which finally falls off the chart this week. The entire top three remain as they were last week. The rest of the top five, though, shake up greatly. Christina Aguilera and Blake Shelton rocket to number four with "Just a Fool," making it both artists' highest peaking song on my chart. (Blake has never charted before, "Your Body" peaked at number five.) Shooting up to number five is Kacey Musgraves's "Merry Go 'Round," which last week shot up back to its original peak from 16 to nine. The song is certainly seeing a resurgence in popularity with me. Throughout all of this, "Figure 8" remains at number eight (she must love that number!) and "Catch My Breath" slips six to nine, still remaining in the top ten. As of this week, "Catch My Breath" has officially broken the record for longest stay in the top 10! This makes its 19th week inside the top ten, beating previous record holder, "Call Me Maybe," which stayed inside the top ten for 18 weeks. Rounding out the top ten is a new entry from P!nk and Nate Ruess, who jump 16 to 10 with "Just Give Me a Reason" after re-entering at 16 last week. Other big movements this week come from MKTO's "Thank You," up 19 to 13, and Carly Rae Jepsen's "Tonight I'm Getting Over You," up 21 to 16. Oddly enough, Ke$ha recently saw a random resurgence for "Crazy Kids," and as it retreats again, "Gold Trans Am" decides it wants to make a random jump back up. You can't make these thing up, guys. In the lower region of the chart, exciting things are happening! This week, there are four new debuts. The highest, at number 24, is Matt Hires's "Restless Heart," which was a recent Free Single of the Week on iTunes. At number 27 is the comeback of Fall Out Boy with "My Songs Know What You Did In the Dark (Long Ass Title)." Numbers 29 and 30 are also new debuts from Emeli Sandé's "Next to Me" and Muse's "Madness" respectively. This must mean that four songs were kicked off. As previously mention, one was Taylor Swift's "We Are Never...." The other three are Flo Rida's "I Cry," Hunter Hayes's "Wanted," and Nicki Minaj's "Va Va Voom." Love the dominance of IKYWT. 8 weeks :o I didn't have that long chart run since 2009, even "Someone Like You" was knocked out after 7 weeks. The power of the goat! :'(
The Ke$ha dominance is great too. And that flashback! :)
"The Pussycat Dolls - Halo" - are you sure about this?:s

Nice to see the Taylor dominance continues. Great jump from "Thank You" and the debuts of "My Songs Know What You Did In the Dark (Light Em Up)", "Next to Me" and "Madness".

Well, this was quite a turn of events. This week was very slow for me. The amount of music I listened to this week dropped considerably due to this being a very busy week for me. In this hectic week, Ke$ha regains her spot at #1 with "C'mon," "Troublemaker" returns to the top five, and "Two Black Cadillacs" returns to the top ten! Weird. "I Knew You Were Trouble." slips to number two, but "Lessons In Love (All Day, All Night)" is right behind it! Will Neon Trees be able to jump to #1? "Merry Go 'Round" also climbs to a new peak this week as it shifts from number five to number four. Also seeing new peaks this week are "Daylight," which jumps from number 12 to number seven, "Tonight I'm Getting Over You" at number 13, "My Songs Know What You Did In the Dark (Light Em Up)" at number 21, "Restless Heart" at number 23, "Next to Me" at number 24, and "Madness" at number 27. Unfortunately, "Just Give Me a Reason" was a victim of the weak week, as it slips from number ten to number 11. However, even with this oddball week, two songs manage to debut! Coming in at number 26 is Cher Lloyd's latest single, "With Ur Love." Cher Lloyd peaked at number two with "Want U Back" back in September 2012 , becoming the second casualty of the "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" massacre. ("Some Nights" was the first.) The other debut, at number 28, is something to celebrate. She is back folks! Demi Lovato returns to the top 30 yet again! But this time, it's not with "Give Your Heart a Break" which holds the record for longest stay on the chart with a massive 43 weeks! It peaked at number seven back in September 2012 as well. The new debut is Demi's lead single from her fouth album, "Heart Attack." The two new entries kick out Rihanna's album track, "Love Without Tragedy / Mother Mary" and the former six-week number one smash, Ke$ha's "Die Young." Drop Out Runs: Ke$ha - Die Young 01 22 29-7-2-2-2-2-1-1-1-1-1-1-3-4-5-5-10-15-20-22-26-28Rihanna - Love Without Tragedy / Mother Mary 17 08 24-24-17-22-26-26-28-26Newly Certified This Week: Gold Lifehouse - Halfway Gone Orianthi - According to You Timbaland - If We Ever Meet Again (feat. Katy Perry)
2x Platinum Katy Perry - Part of Me Maroon 5 - Daylight Nicki Minaj - I'm Legit (feat. Ciara)
3x Platinum Neon Trees - Lessons In Love (All Day, All Night) (feat. Kaskade) Sara Bareilles - Love Song
4x Platinum Linkin Park - Castle of Glass
6x Platinum Bruno Mars - Locked Out of Heaven Ke$ha - C'mon

And this is only "Catch My Breath"'s second week outside the top 10. When was it last outside the top 10? Its debut week.
