This is going to sound stupid, but I love seeing the Ellie love over here! There's just a few of us who are involved in her album thread or who even discuss her, so it's nice seeing the appreciation toward her. Anyway, back on topic... what time did the concert end? I would think we should be seeing some video by now...

What does this even mean? Out of character? Do you think Catch My Breath is out of character for her, something she wrote that is clearly very personal to her and representative of her ten year career thus far? People Like Us is absolutely in line with what she started on Stronger, and while Catch My Breath may be polarizing to some people, it's definitely not out of character for Kelly. She can't stick to the dated pop/rock breakup songs forever, you know. See i feel CMB is a kelly song..But People like us..feels...out of character i agree..it doesn't feel up to her standards...it sounds like a miley cyrus song...JUst my opinion, but regardless im pumped for new kelly!! What are you talking about? People Like Us literally feels like one of the Kelly-est songs she has ever been attached to

Wow. 'People Like Us' is pure dance! Love it! I was expecting it to be along the lines of a second rate 'Dark Side'
Very impressed. Screw CMB, they should have went with it!

Then she would most likely have one hit from this era instead of a possible two. They went about it in a much smarter way. Guys I love the acoustic version, I hope Kelly does one :) Also, it probably won't be said by anyone but I love Meghan's voice.

I don't even know how to respond to that. Let's hope I don't regret this digression . . . OK, for the most part, an artist's political perspective is not a big deal to me. All I'm saying is that it would be nice if my favorite artist had a similar perspective on politics, values, etc. as myself. For example, I find it frustrating that the word "feminist" has become this negatively loaded term when people, like myself, identify as a "feminist" because we acknowledge gender inequality and support efforts to close this gender gap. Thus, it's refreshing when any artist or public figure espouses this perspective. Again, it's obviously not a big deal if an artist I support doesn't see things exactly the same way that I do, and I actually kinda appreciate Kelly's non-partisan and independent stance on politics, people, and life. Diversity of perspectives makes the world go round, etc. I have several close friends that are Republicans who support same-sex marriage, and I have learned to appreciate where they are coming from. However, if Kelly openly voiced that she was against same-sex marriage, I might seriously reconsider my stan status for her. It's not easy for me to put my support behind someone that isn't supporting my rights to equality and the rights of my friends. Similarly, why would I invite anyone who votes against same-sex marriage to my same-sex wedding? Sometimes the political is personal, and it's not unreasonable for fans to care about certain viewpoints of their favorite artists. It came across as "I don't really like that she doesn't believe what I want her to but it's okay." but now that you explained it I actually agree with what you're saying. It just sounds weird to say about any celebrity in general when it isn't phrased a certain way.

I am loving the People Like Us demo. Kelly's version should be a smash. The lyrics are great and the sound seems perfect following the success of Stronger. I am really excited to hear it now.

You guys are making me excite for PLU, but I'm going to hold off on hearing the demo. I think I want to be surprised when her album comes out.

May I just add at how much I LOVE the spoken intro! I hope she keeps that in there. It sort of reminds me of the beginning of a Britney or Gaga song. Good God, those lyrics are pure perfection too! I'm addicted already to just the demo! I srly can't even right now...

Kelly Clarkson to Duet With Vince Gill on ‘Greatest Hits’ Album
Kelly Clarkson has enjoyed a few hit duets in the country music field already, and soon, she’ll add Vince Gill to her roster. The track listing for the first ‘American Idol’ winner’s upcoming album, ‘Greatest Hits — Chapter 1,’ has been released, and tucked alongside her pop hits is a sweet duet with Gill titled ‘Don’t Rush.’
First, it was her emotion-drenched ballad, ‘Because of You,’ with Reba which caught country fans’ attention. That hit was followed by her multi-week No. 1 with Jason Aldean, ‘Don’t You Wanna Stay.’ Clarkson also recently recorded a duet of the Keith Whitley-penned ‘There’s a New Kid in Town’ with Blake Shelton for his Christmas album, ‘Cheers, It’s Christmas.’
In addition to the duet with Gill, the forthcoming hits album will also include the Clarkson-Aldean duet, along with her well-known pop hits ‘Since U Been Gone,’ ‘Miss Independent’ and ‘Because of You’ (the album includes Clarkson’s solo version, not her duet with Reba).
‘Greatest Hits — Chapter 1′ is scheduled for release Nov. 19, but it seems country fans might get an early listen to the tune. The commercials for the CMA Awards (which air Nov. 1) boast a shared performance between Clarkson and Gill. Could it be the duo’s first performance of ‘Don’t Rush’? Tune in to find out.

^ Continuing on the subject of Don't Rush...this (see below) was posted on Twitter today. Apparently one of the writers is a guy named Blu Sanders. If any of you recall, Kelly demoed a song penned by him titled Bulletproof before recording commenced on All I Ever Wanted. She never recorded it officially, despite loving the song. I remember Aben Eubanks or Ashley Arrison mentioning that during an interview - the song is probably still up on MySpace somewhere. If you want to get a feel for him, listen to the song. 212pictures @212pictures@blusanders kelly🌷💞_clarkson @vh1 Hey my face book friends be sure to go buy this album and support my good friend Blu who wrote Don't Rush 6:21 PM - 18 Oct 12
ETA: I found it. Again, this is NOT Don't Rush, just another song Kelly was interested in from this writer. www.americansongspace.com/songprofile/BULLETPROOF-ERINNSHERLOCK/MTk3NzM~

People Like Us sounds like it will be AMAZING when finalized and with Kelly's vocals on it. It should be huge too.

I love her voice on the song but the liberties she took with the verses' melodic rhythm is throwing me off. I guess this is one of the songs she's less familiar with.

That was nice, but I kind of expected more. I don't like how she sometimes changes the melodies of songs, like she did in the beginning here. The melody is what makes the song magical in the first place, and it sort of struck a bad chord for me once she did that. Also, I realized that their voices are so different, and I think this song suits someone with a voice more like Ellie's where it's more about the stylistic aspect to the voice than the power, which is what Kelly has. I dunno, I didn't think it was as great as I was expecting.

I dunno, I didn't think it was as great as I was expecting. Yeah, I was expecting more too, esp. because I think I recall Kelly once mentioning being a fan of Ellie. But maybe she was only familiar with Ellie's singles? The way she changed the melody didn't really feel that intentional, it felt more like someone who had just learned the words but had not heard the song enough to really remember how the melody goes. That's why I figured she must not know the song that well. I also agree that The Writer is not really a song that is meant to be powered through, except maybe on the bridge, which I do think Kelly hit spot on. I believe given more time to work out the kinks, Kelly could have adapted her voice perfectly to the 'softer' aspect, but sheer vocal power is just what Kelly tends falls back on when not that familiar with and/or into the song. Given that, I actually think Anything Could Happen would have been the better Ellie song for her to learn on the fly. Annnyways, I know way off topic lol but does anyone have updated #s for Stronger. Its still charting . It's down to around 150 but means its still selling in the 1000s+. Thanks Don't know the exact weekly numbers but the last updated total I saw recently was 3.85 million.

I LOVE it. I've never heard the original though so I guess I'm not judging it based on how it is supposed to sound.

Just watched all the videos from Stronger again and I loved them. Well not Dark Side's but now looking back I think Mr. Know It All and Stronger's video will resonate well overtime.

Didn't read every post, but is there any chance that 'People Like Us' is the Dark Child track Kelly was super pumped about and wanted everyone to hear? I'm waiting for the official Kelly version before listening to it.

I'm waiting for the official Kelly version before listening to it. I'd say no, I'm not super familiar with his writing and production credits, but he usually always has a credit on them and is probably involved in their creation from the start. There's no mention of him in the article about People Like Us and we never heard a thing about Kelly recording with him, so there's no chance. I'm sure it'll show up on the next album like Kelly originally said.

I am supercurious how different Kelly's huge vocals, melismatic runs, and tone, which are perfect for radio will sound coupled with an improved production in HQ ! Given that radio continues to be dominated by beat-driven dance melodies and assuming Kelly's version will only improve greatly on the demo, I second your projection that 'People' will be a multi-format #1 hit (CHR/POP, Hot AC, Dance, and Hot 100) and will become Kelly's second highest selling digital single of all time.

Yeah, that's a bummer. Not only are they really talented back-up singers, but she's formed such strong bonds with her touring family, and already lost one of her guitarists/bassists (don't know the difference tbh) to the Shania tour (not sure if that's permanent). At least her tour is over and she has some time to deal and find new talent and get to know them.

^^ I read on he is coming back for a few months until Shania's shows starts up again next March-April; however, I do not know what work he would have with Kelly until then, since she has no touring plans announced after her final 'Stronger' tour show in London at Wembley Arena tomorrow.
Speaking of that Wembley show, there has been much speculation as to the "special plan" that Kelly tweeted about for tomorrow's show: since the music video to 'Breath' has been rumoured to have been/will be filmed in the UK, perhaps there will be filming for a live concert 'Breath' video, much like the Breakaway (UK) video, or perhaps she has some special guests, or least likely, there will be filming for a concert DVD. Any new news or thoughts on the matter ?
