Peter Edge is the A&R for both of them. While I don't think anyone should expect peppy club records from Monica, Peter is going to focus on making sure that the new music is contemporary urban-friendly. NL taught them she is not a strictly UAC artist (yet). It seems like ever since "Just Another Girl" and "All Eyez On Me" flopped in 2001 and 2002 they just don't give her real uptempos at all. Monica and I miss Larry Jackson. Monica's partially to blame for that. For some reason, she believes that recording/releasing true up-tempos will require her to dance and she hates dancing so she prefers records that are "close to ups". |

JD needs to be banned from the recording studios. The only producers I'm pumped abt is Missy & Polow. But I agree with whoever said she needs to work with pop producers for a couple tracks. It's easy for her to get so damn stale.

Hell, Whitney couldn't dance either, but the MY LOVE IS YOUR LOVE era was hot. That's what Monica needs....something edgy but kinda safe like "It's Not Right But It's Okay" anything to switch it up! I'm waiting with baited breath!

When was the last time she worked with Rodney Jerkins and Dallas Austin? I liked a lot of their work from back in the day. And 1-2 pop producers would be a welcomed change!

I still maintain that Monica's best album was her debut, which still boggles my mind. However, each album has some gems and Still Standing/New Life were really solid for me.
