I liked the interview with Nessa. Maybe because she's from the Bay. Or because I was preparing myself for Ebro's horrific ass to appear on my scream and then was pleasantly surprised when he wasn't there.

She sold 14k in pre-orders so I was expecting the 30k range but that's a respectable number considering they released an album with a SIX month old single!

This is already feeling like the typical poorly promoted routine she's had with previous albums. The second single and video should've been out last week. JRFM dropped in June. Like....
I'll be shocked if this even gets a third single. I don't see Monica being willing to actually put in any kind of work to keep this afloat.

I Know, Anchor, Ocean Of Tears and Alone In Your Heart are EVERYTHING.
The album is really very good, but she'll never top Miss Thang.

If im not mistaken this is the last album with RCA. And I dont think anything is wrong with the material either. Monica has actually worked very hard this era, and has taken alot of initiative on her own without the help of RCA. I'm proud of her.

it's *not* the material, especially on this album. she hasn't been promoted properly since After the Storm, even Still Standing was handled poorly!!!

I think a reality show on BET would've helped, but she mentioned something about going through a time that she did not want to be filmed. She found out Rocko cheated and they broke up right after they finished season 1 of Still Standing and she didn't want the cameras documenting the fallout during season 2. Her priority is definitely her children and she didn't want them to see any dirty laundry being publicly aired out. I respect it. |

I like her "grass roots" approach with her touring and meet and greets. It made me actually purchase her album. artists dont really do that these days, especially once they've made it. |
