I think the bottom line is, they will never be friends, and people just need to let it go. I think they have a mutual respect for one another, and have no problem checking in every now and then. But their personalities just don't mesh. And that's completely fine.

I kinda love that while Monica is dominating the Itunes singles charts, Brandy is seeing a nice bump on the album side (which seems in line with their careers).
Edit: I'm also thrilled that Trenches is off to such a strong start, and that Sideline Ho is in there. My only wishes woulda been to hear Street Symphony and Without You last night. What can I say, I'm greedy!

People need to factor in that there was 8 years of no communication between the two and they only talked for the first time last week. Couple that in with years of shade from one side my ass would be stiff, too.

Especially in contrast with Brandy who was putting on for the cameras last night. |

I feel like they have such different personalities that, not only do they not really mesh the way people expect them to, but the people watching had pretty polarized views of how each of them came off. Different strokes.. We all saw ourselves in one personality and ran with it. I'm the Monica type so that joking and sh!t you have to be REAL careful to hit that punchline right or we'll be in the weeds. The Brandy archetypes annoy the hell out of me with that zest for life mess. I can appreciate the energy and admiration, but I'm also going to tell you that you're doing a bit too much to make it seem as if we're 100% cool, all in the same breath. |
