Well, Taylor does have 9 T10 solo writes.
Rihanna has maybe 2 solo songs in the T10 for which she got co-writing credit. Or maybe 1. I thought it was 2 but I can't find another one.

So how many #1's does Taylor have on the Songs With Creative Input Hot 100? One. Hey, looky there, she's tied with Rihanna! Though, one can have creative input on a song without being a writer/producer/mixer/instrument player/etc on it. I agree with you here. However, without anything in writing (ie: credit) it's only speculation. You don't know for sure if she had any input more than anyone else knows she didn't. A debate not worth having

A debate not worth having I'm not debating that though. I'm debating the importance of the matter. So what if Rihanna's only had one song with a writing credit go number one. Does that really matter? (But if I were to debate that, then it really doesn't make any sense how an artist can record a song and have no creative input on it whatsoever. Even if they add in a "woo" or another adlib, is that not creative input? I mean, an artist just doesn't go into a record studio and record a song like they're a robot singing and making it exactly the way that it was when they were handed it.)

Never? Have you been with all these "artists" while they recorded?
I just hope Rihanna doesn't in some shape or form "beat" the GOAT The Beatles.

Have you been with all these "artists" while they recorded? No, but have you? And not once did I say that that never happens. It just seems HIGHLY unlikely. Why would you go into the music business to be uncreative?

Get baa-aaa-aaa-aack, get baa-aaa-aaa-aack Get baa-aaa-aaa-aack to where you once belonged Get baa-aaa-aaa-aack, get baa-aaa-aaa-aack Get baa-aaa-aaa-aack to where you once belonged Get baa-aaa-aaa-aack Jojo Go home GOAT means "greatest of all time," though. I still think it's an awful acronym, though.

Chart Watch Extra: The Individuals With The Most #1 Hits By Paul Grein
PostsBy Paul Grein | Chart Watch – 8 hours agoEmail0Share0PrintRihanna has a lot to be thankful for this Thanksgiving holiday. Her current smash, "Diamonds," jumps to #1 on Billboard's Hot 100. It's her 12th #1 hit, a tally equaled by only 10 other individuals since 1955. And that counts the Beatles as four individuals. This dramatizes how rapidly Rihanna, who is still just 24, has scaled the list of all-time chart champs.
Rihanna's tally of #1 hits consists of seven hits on her own plus collaborations with Jay-Z ("Umbrella"), T.I. ("Live Your Life"), Eminem ("Love The Way You Lie"), Drake ("What's My Name?") and Calvin Harris ("We Found Love").
Paul McCartney has had more #1 hits than any other artist since 1955, a total of 29. (Surprisingly, he has never had a #1 hit strictly on his own. His highest-charting hit strictly on his own was his first post-Beatles chart hit, "Another Day," which reached #5 in 1971.)
Elvis Presley had more #1 hits strictly on his own than any other artist. He had 17 #1 hits, without one collabo. Mariah Carey has had more # 1 hits strictly on her own than any other female artist—a total of 15. (In addition, she has had three #1 collabos.)
Here's a list of all individuals who have had six or more #1 hits since 1955.
Paul McCartney, 29. Includes 20 hits with the Beatles, six with Wings and one collabo each with his wife Linda McCartney ("Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey"), Stevie Wonder ("Ebony And Ivory") and Michael Jackson ("Say Say Say").
George Harrison, 23. Includes 20 hits with the Beatles and three solo hits: "My Sweet Lord," "Give Me Love (Give Me Peace On Earth)" and "Got My Mind Set On You." Harrison died in November 2001. He was 58.
Ringo Starr, 22. Includes 20 hits with the Beatles and two solo hits: "Photograph" and "You're Sixteen."
John Lennon, 22. Includes 20 hits with the Beatles, one on which he shared billing with the Plastic Ono Nuclear Band ("Whatever Gets You Thru The Night") and one on his own ("(Just Like) Starting Over"). Lennon died in December 1980. He was 40.
Mariah Carey, 18. Includes 15 hits on her own and one collabo each with Boyz II Men ("One Sweet Day"), Jay-Z ("Heartbreaker") and Joe & 98 Degrees ("Thank God I Found You").
Diana Ross, 18. Her tally consists of 12 hits with the Supremes, five on her own and one collabo with Lionel Richie ("Endless Love").
Elvis Presley, 17. His tally consists of 17 hits on his own, from 1956's "Heartbreak Hotel" to 1969's "Suspicious Minds." Presley died in August 1977. He was 42.
Michael Jackson, 17. His tally consists of 12 hits on his own, four hits with the Jackson 5 and one collabo with Paul McCartney ("Say Say Say"). Jackson died in June 2009. He was 50.
Madonna, 12. Her tally consists of 12 hits on her own, from 1984's "Like A Virgin" to 2000's "Music."
Rihanna, 12. Includes seven hits on her own and collabos with four hip-hop stars (Jay-Z, T.I., Eminem and Drake) and one dance/electronic music star, Calvin Harris.
Mary Wilson, 12. Her tally consists of 12 hits with the Supremes, from 1964's "Where Did Our Love Go" to 1969's "Someday We'll Be Together." (She wasn't featured on the group's last two #1 hits, but she was part of the group and was in the photo on the single sleeves.)
Whitney Houston, 11. Her tally consists of 11 hits on her own, from 1985's "Saving All My Love For You" to 1995's "Exhale (Shoop Shoop)." Houston died in February 2012. She was 48.
Janet Jackson, 10. Her tally consists of 10 hits on her own, from 1986's "When I Think Of You" to 2001's "All For You."
George Michael, 10. Includes five hits on his own, three hits as the key member of Wham! and one collabo each with Aretha Franklin ("I Knew You Were Waiting (For Me)") and Elton John ("Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me").
Florence Ballard, 10. Her tally consists of 10 hits as a member of the Supremes, from 1964's "Where Did Our Love Go" to 1967's "The Happening." Ballard was pushed out of the group in 1967. She died in February 1976. She was just 32 at her death, younger than anyone else on this list.
Stevie Wonder, 9. Includes eight hits on his own and one collabo with Paul McCartney ("Ebony And Ivory").
Usher, 9. Includes five hits on his own and one collabo each with Lil Jon & Ludacris ("Yeah!"), Alicia Keys ("My Boo"), Young Jeezy ("Love In This Club") and will.i.am ("OMG").
Beyonce, 9. Includes four hits with Destiny's Child, two on her own and one collabo each with Jay-Z ("Crazy In Love"), Sean Paul ("Baby Boy") and Bun-B & Slim Thug ("Check On It").
Barry, Robin and Maurice Gibb, 9. Their tally consists of nine Bee Gees hits, from 1971's "How Can You Mend A Broken Heart" to 1979's "Love You Inside Out." Maurice died in January 2003. He was 53. Robin died in May 2012. He was 62.
Elton John, 8. Includes six hits on his own and one collabo each with Kiki Dee ("Don't Go Breaking My Heart") and George Michael ("Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me").
Phil Collins, 8. Includes six hits on his own, one duet with Marilyn Martin ("Separate Lives") and one hit with Genesis ("Invisible Touch").
Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Bill Wyman, Charlie Watts, 8. Their tally consists of eight hits by the Rolling Stones, from 1965's "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction" to 1978's "Miss You."
Katy Perry, 7. Includes five hits on her own and one collabo each with Snoop Dogg ("California Gurls") and Kanye West ("E.T.").
Lionel Richie, 7. Includes four hits on his own, two with the Commodores and one duet with Diana Ross ("Endless Love").
Frankie Valli, 7. Includes five hits with the 4 Seasons and two solo hits ("My Eyes Adored You" and "Grease").
Pat Boone, 6. His tally consists of six hits from 1955's "Ain't That A Shame" to 1961's "Moody River."
Daryl Hall & John Oates, 6. Their tally consists of six hits from 1977's "Rich Girl" to 1984's "Out Of Touch."
Paula Abdul, 6. Includes five hits on her own and one that featured The Wild Pair ("Opposites Attract").
Fergie, 6. Includes three hits with the Black Eyed Peas, two on her own and one collabo with Ludacris ("Glamorous").

looks like they are going to change the rules again! lol
and really, how is a collab that much different from a group? I agree with these rankings. Take Beyonce, for instance. In her personal life, when asked "how many #1's have you had?" Is she going to say 5 or 9? If i were her, i'd automatically say 9, because i was apart of something that hit #1.
hmm...

looks like they are going to change the rules again! lol Paul Grein has always talked about #1s in that manner. He doesn't have any impact on Billboard's policies.

Rihanna has had about a 15-20% lead over Ke$ha on iTunes so far this week. That's all relative to the #1 song and doesn't reflect any sort of "complete-my-album" effect, but I'd think the best Ke$ha could hope for is to come out even digitally.
"Diamonds" should have a second week secured.

"Diamonds" shouldn't be affected too much by the Complete My Album feature. She's not even going to surpass 300k, and most of those will be physical, not digital. We can estimate roughly 35% might be digital, and only 65% of them from iTunes. So that's roughly 105k digitally, 68.25k from iTunes. Even if all of those copies had the CMA feature, it would only subtract 68.25k from "Diamonds." That's not bad at all. And realistically, not every purchase from iTunes will be through Complete My Album, so maybe around 50k or so will be subtracted from "Diamonds."
Edit: I completely forgot about the remix with Kanye West! That may sell enough to cover the losses, or at least most of them.

Wow at McCartney and Presley. I hadn't thought about things in that way; truly impressive.
Also from Yahoo: Never Ever ties Love Story for T10 weeks. One Direction's "Little Things" is the week's top new entry at #41. Digital sales rank: #10 (91K)..."Kiss You," a second song by the boy band, enters the Hot 100 at #95. "Just A Fool" by Christina Aguilera featuring Blake Shelton debuts at #92.

Week Ending Nov. 18, 2012. Songs: Rihanna Ties Madonna By Paul Grein | Chart Watch
Rihanna lands her 12th #1 hit on the Hot 100 with "Diamonds." Only two other female solo artists have amassed 12 or more #1 hits. Mariah Carey leads the pack with 18. Rihanna is now tied with Madonna for second place with 12. Remarkably, even after all these hits, Rihanna has yet to turn 25. By contrast, Madonna turned 25 two months before she landed her first Hot 100 hit, "Holiday."
If you combine solo and group hits, Diana Ross ties Carey with 18 #1 hits. If you throw in group members, Mary Wilson (who sang alongside Ross in the Supremes) ties Rihanna with 12 #1 hits. But that's it. No other female artists (soloists or group members) have amassed 12 #1 hits.
The Beatles have held the record for the most #1 hits in the rock era since they landed their 18th #1, "Come Together," in November 1969. That was the hit that put them ahead of Elvis Presley, who had landed his 17th (and last) #1, "Suspicious Minds," just four weeks earlier. The Beatles quickly added two more #1 hits to their tally for a total of 20. Will Rihanna one day equal the Fab Four? She's just eight #1 hits away. Stay tuned.
Rihanna will turn 25 on Feb. 20. Only two other individuals in chart history have amassed a dozen #1 hits before their 25th birthdays. George Harrison was just 23 in June 1966 when the Beatles landed their 12th #1, "Paperback Writer." His band-mate Paul McCartney had just turned 24. (John Lennon and Ringo Starr were both 25.)
"Diamonds" tops the 1 million mark in digital sales this week. It's Rihanna's fourth song to sell 1 million or more copies in 2012. This puts her in a three-way tie with Adele and Pitbull for the most million-sellers by any artist so far this year. (Having a one-word name seems to help.) "Diamonds" also holds at #1 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs for the seventh straight week.
"Diamonds" hit #1 in the U.K. in October. It's Rihanna's sixth song to reach #1 in both the U.S. and the U.K., which puts her in a tie with Elvis Presley for the most transatlantic #1s by a solo artist. Rihanna previously topped the charts in both countries with "Umbrella" (featuring Jay-Z), "Take A Bow," "Only Girl In The World," "What's Your Name" (featuring Drake) and "We Found Love" (featuring Calvin Harris).
Presley topped the charts in both countries with "All Shook Up," "Jailhouse Rock," "It's Now Or Never," "Are You Lonesome To-night?," "Surrender" and "Good Luck Charm."
The Beatles lead all artists (groups or solo artists) with 13 transatlantic #1 hits.
A down note: "Diamonds" sold just 171K copies this week. That's the lowest sales tally for a song at #1 on Hot Digital Songs since LMFAO's "Sexy And I Know It" held the top spot with sales of 152K in December.
Rihanna's Unapologetic is expected to enter The Billboard 200 at #1 next week with sales in the 240K range. It would be her first #1 album.
Shameless Plug: We posted a Chart Watch Extra earlier today in which I looked at all individuals who have landed six or more #1 hits on the Hot 100 since 1955. Paul McCartney heads the list with 29 #1 hits (20 with the Beatles, six with Wings and one collabo each with Linda McCartney, Stevie Wonder and Michael Jackson). But how does the rest of the list fall? If you're interested in pop history (and herstory) you should check it out.
Bruno Mars lands his eighth top five hit in less than three years as "Locked Out Of Heaven" jumps from #6 to #4 in its seventh week. Five of Mars' top five hits have been solos. Three have been collabos. They've reflected a nice mix of styles and tempos, from the sweet swoon of "Just The Way You Are" to the funky vibe of "Young, Wild & Free."
The Lumineers' "Ho Hey" jumps from #13 to #8 in its 24th week. The song topped Triple A (Billboard's "adult alternative" chart) for eight weeks beginning in June and hit #1 on Hot Rock Songs and Alternative in September. (Billboard has more charts than Rihanna has hits.) "Ho Hey" is from the Lumineers' eponymous debut album, which has appeared on The Billboard 200 for 33 weeks (it has climbed as high as #11).
Taylor Swift's "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" drops from #7 to #9 in its 15th week. This is its 13th week in the top 10, which ties the mark set in 2009 by Swift's "Love Story." Only one Swift song, "You Belong With Me," has had a longer run in the top 10 (16 weeks in 2009).
"We Are Never Ever…" is #1 on Hot Country Songs for the seventh week. It's the first song to spend seven weeks at #1 on that chart since Tim McGraw's "Live Like You Were Dying" in the summer of 2004. Note: It's becoming clear that songs are going to have longer runs at #1 on the country and R&B charts now that those charts simply reflect how "genre songs" are doing on the Hot 100. One more week and "We Are Never Ever…" will have the longest run at #1 on the country chart since "It's Five O'Clock Somewhere" by Alan Jackson & Jimmy Buffett, which had eight weeks on top in the summer of 2003. Will it do it? Probably. Florida Georgia Line's "Cruise" (which is in its third week at #2 on the country chart) has outsold "We Are Never Ever…" in each of the last two weeks, but Swift is obviously way ahead in airplay.
Here's the low-down on this week's top 10 songs.
The Top Five: Rihanna's "Diamonds" jumps from #2 to #1 in its eighth week on the chart. This is its fifth week in the top 10. Digital sales rank: #1 (171K)…Maroon 5's "One More Night" dips from #1 to #2 in its 22nd week on the chart. This is its 14th week in the top 10. Digital sales rank: #7 (119K)… Ke$ha's "Die Young" holds at #3 for the second week in its eighth week on the chart. This is its fifth week in the top 10. Digital sales rank: #4 (133K)… Bruno Mars' "Locked Out Of Heaven" jumps from #6 to #4 in its seventh week on the chart. This is its fourth week in the top 10. Digital sales rank: #3 (148K)… fun.'s "Some Nights" dips from #4 to #5 in its 39th week on the chart. This is its 15th week in the top 10. Digital sales rank: #11 (89K).
The Second Five: Ne-Yo's "Let Me Love You (Until You Learn To Love Yourself)" jumps from #8 to #6 in its 16th week on the chart. This is its fifth week in the top 10. Digital sales rank: #14 (67K)…PSY's "Gangnam Style" drops from #5 to #7 in its 11th week on the chart. This is its ninth week in the top 10. Digital sales rank: #2 (161K)…The Lumineers' "Ho Hey" jumps from #13 to #8 in its 24th week on the chart. This is the group's first top 10 hit. Digital sales rank: #5 (121K)…Taylor Swift's "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" drops from #7 to #9 in its 15th week on the chart. This is its 13th week in the top 10. Digital sales rank: #16 (66K)… Flo Rida's "I Cry" holds at #10 for the second week in its eighth week on the chart. This is its second week in the top 10. Digital sales rank: #8 (105K).
Alex Clare's "Too Close" drops from #9 to #11, ending a 10-week run in the top 10.
Phillip Phillips' "Home" jumps from #14 to #12 in its 21st week. The song has already climbed as high as #9. The song is in its 11th week in the top 10 on Hot Digital Songs. As you probably know, the song got a second wind after being featured on NBC's coverage of women's gymnastics in the Summer Olympics. The song had tumbled as low as #85 on Hot Digital Songs before beginning its TV-fueled comeback. Digital sales rank: #9 (103K). Phillips' The World From The Side Of The Moon is expected to enter The Billboard 200 around #4 next week with sales in the 140K range.
Florida Georgia Line's "Cruise" jumps from #18 to #16 in its 14th week. The song tops the 1 million mark in digital sales this week.
"Beauty And A Beat" by Justin Bieber featuring Nicki Minaj leaps from #38 to #20 in its sixth week. It's vying to become the third top 10 hit from Bieber's album Believe, which tops the 1 million mark in sales this week. Minaj's own hit "Va Va Voom" is also moving like a top 10 hit. The song leaps from #46 to #26 in its fifth week.
Adele's "Skyfall" leaps from #33 to #21 in its seventh week (or should I say, 007th week). The song has climbed as high as #8. Digital sales rank: #6 (120K)…Mumford & Sons' "I Will Wait" rebounds from #36 to #30 in its 15th week. The song has climbed as high as #23…"Don't You Worry Child" by Swedish House Mafia featuring John Martin jumps from #48 to #33 in its ninth week. The song hit #1 in the U.K. in October…Frank Ocean's "Thinking Bout You" jumps from #43 to #35 in its 19th week. Ocean is expected to receive nominations in all four of the marquee categories when the Grammy nominations are announced on Dec. 5.
One Direction's "Little Things" is the week's top new entry at #41. Digital sales rank: #10 (91K). The song debuts at #1 on The Official U.K. chart this week. "Kiss You," a second song by the boy band, enters the Hot 100 at #95. The quintet's sophomore album Take Me Home sold 540K copies this week. That's more than three times as many copies as its debut album, Up All Night, sold when it bowed at #1 in March with first-week sales of 176K.
."Thrift Shop" by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis jumps from #55 to #42 in its seventh week…P!nk's "Try" leaps from #69 to #50 in its fourth week following P!nk's simple, understated performance of the song on the AMAs. (It was anything but, but it was an impressive athletic feat.)…"Don't Stop The Party" by Pitbull featuring TJR leaps from #81 to #61 in its fifth week. Pitbull's album, Global Warming, is expected to sell about 35K copies in the coming week.
"A Thousand Years (Part 2)" by Christina Perri featuring Steve Kazee is the week's second-highest new entry at #67. The song is from The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2. Perri's initial recording of "A Thousand Years," which was featured in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1, reached #31 earlier this year. It has sold nearly 2 million copies. As you may have read in Chart Watch: Albums, Twilight this week ties Star Wars as the movie franchise that has spawned the most top 10 soundtrack albums (five).
Imagine Dragons' "Radioactive" jumps from #83 to #71 in its 12th week…Kelly Clarkson's "Catch My Breath" leaps from #96 to #74 in its fourth week. Clarkson's Greatest Hits: Chapter One will probably either just make or just miss the top 10 next week, with sales in the 45K range…"The Only Way I Know" by Jason Aldean with Luke Bryan and Eric Church leaps from #93 to #78 in its second week…The Weeknd's "Wicked Games" leaps from #91 to #81 in its third week.
"Just A Fool" by Christina Aguilera featuring Blake Shelton debuts at #92. It's from Aguilera's Lotus, which enters The Billboard 200 at #7 this week. This is the second chart hit pairing Aguilera and a fellow judge on The Voice. "Moves Like Jagger," her 2011 collabo with Adam Levine's group, Maroon 5, logged four weeks at #1. (Cee Lo, you're next.)
"Sweet Nothing" by Calvin Harris featuring Florence Welch re-enters the chart at #97. It's from his album 18 Months. The song reached #1 on the Official U.K. chart in October…2 Chainz' "I'm Different" debuts at #98. It's from his former #1 album Based On A T.R.U. Story…"Celebration" by Game featuring Chris Brown, Tyga, Wiz Khalifa and Lil Wayne re-enters at #100. It's from Game's sixth studio album, Jesus Piece, which is due Dec. 11.
"Good Time" by Owl City & Carly Rae Jepsen tops the 2 million mark in digital sales this week. It's the second song by both artists to reach this plateau. Owl City's "Fireflies" is up to 4,648,000. Jepsen's "Call Me Maybe" is up to 6,138,000. "Good Time" reached #8 on the Hot 100.

Considering how long it took for Axl Rose to put together Chinese Democracy, the prospects of a new GNR album appearing any time soon seem rather dim to me.
Who knows, though, maybe he'll surprise us all.

:'( He's slaying.

I agree with you here. However, without anything in writing (ie: credit) it's only speculation. You don't know for sure if she had any input more than anyone else knows she didn't. A debate not worth having I'm not debating that though. I'm debating the importance of the matter. So what if Rihanna's only had one song with a writing credit go number one. Does that really matter? Touche. It doesn't matter. I don't know why it keeps coming up over and over again as if it's some sort of validation or something. (But if I were to debate that, then it really doesn't make any sense how an artist can record a song and have no creative input on it whatsoever. Even if they add in a "woo" or another adlib, is that not creative input? I mean, an artist just doesn't go into a record studio and record a song like they're a robot singing and making it exactly the way that it was when they were handed it.) It's input. Doesn't necessarily mean it's creative or good.

No. It's just that this year a lot of the big named artists went on hiatus, leaving radio to wonder what in the world they were going to fill their playlists up with. It peaked mainly in the summer with almost no big named artists releasing music, songs like "Lights," "Everybody Talks," and others were picked up to fill the holes, and they just slowly gained until they caught on. "Ho Hey" is in the same predicament right now. It's great, though, as it's bringing a lot of diversity to the charts, and it has helped these artists get a stronger fanbase and could possibly help them become regulars on radio. Didn't "Ho Hey" only get released to Pop radio in the past like two months or so? The former two had very slow climbs up the Pop chart, yes, but "Ho Hey" has been rising very quickly, meaning that one is instead a case of a song hitting at the rock formats first, and only now is it Pop's turn to get in on the action. looks like they are going to change the rules again! lol and really, how is a collab that much different from a group? I agree with these rankings. Take Beyonce, for instance. In her personal life, when asked "how many #1's have you had?" Is she going to say 5 or 9? If i were her, i'd automatically say 9, because i was apart of something that hit #1. hmm... Ranking people who've had so many #1s and including their group hits in those tallies is nothing new. People have been doing that for decades. But it does not make the Billboard chart records irrelevant, because those are pointedly strictly by artist. As it stands, Paul's ranking explicitly referred to having any face credit on the record. (I say "face credit" to differentiate from having songwriting credit.)

How many weeks did We Are Young spend in the Top 10? 20 or so? Some Nights is at 15 weeks. While it doesn't *feel* like it, the charts suggest that, taking everything into account, it's almost on par as being as big as the first single.
