Early December always makes me nostalgic for the first year I became a music fan and listening to Casey's Top 40. I get mostly nostalgic for the songs that were out around this time so I found the chart from December 4th, 1994 and I just made a playlist on my iPod with these songs. I thought it would be fun to reminisce about this chart for those of us who know these songs.

Hmm. Let's see what we have here. Okay. Not one of his best singles. Also okay. Very much a product of its time. Love it. An early favorite of mine. Don't recall. There's a reason this song has held up as well as it has with the general public. Excellent tune. All three of these are very good as well. Don't recall it. Still hear it pretty regularly. It's fine. Never heard this. '90s/'00s Eagles just kind of... are. There's nothing wrong with their output in these decades, but nothing amazing or unexpected. They just kinda keep plugging along at this point. Not knocking that, since clearly they built up a huge fan base by doing just that; just doesn't leave a lot to say about any of the songs from their later works. Love it. Haha, I bought this single. This one also is a product of its time, but I enjoy it. Not my favorite STP single by a long shot, but easy to see why it had the huge crossover success it did. It's okay. Probably should know this, but I can't remember a thing about it. Perfectly respectable rendition. It's too bad NdegéOcello wasn't able to build off the momentum from being featured on this... although it's not like mainstream success seems to be her primary concern. But, yeah, I like this nearly as much as the Van Morrison original. Don't recall. LOL. It's fine. Perfectly respectable performance. I can dig it. '90s classic. Love it. The parent album (I Ain't Movin') is one of those that every store that sells used CDs always seems to have a few copies of, haha. Neither is a standout in the catalogues of the artists, but both are decent. It's okay, although I don't particularly care for the remix that caused it to re-chart. This is one of those songs that I can enjoy in moderation, but there are a lot of other Four Seasons songs I like way more. Classic song from a classic album. Lovely. Chrissie Hynde is a badass. I wish I could have a tenth of her cool factor. I like Toad's hits. It's not "All I Want" but it's good. It's okay, but, at the same time, completely unnecessary. Both good songs. She had such a good thing going with her hits. It's a shame that she seems to get limited respect now, because she really churned out some great, accessible house-ish music. Still love Gin Blossoms hits. This isn't my top one, but great song. Ah, that period when Boyz II Men were inescapable. I got a little burned on both of these at the time, but I appreciate them again with some time to recover from that. It's good, but it doesn't hold up as well as some of their other hits. I like her. I don't love this song in the way I do some of her other hits, but I can enjoy hearing it occasionally. Another '90s classic. Still like it, but did burn on it a bit due to overplay at the time. As I recently mentioned in the song's thread, love it and consider it one of her best singles of the '90s. I'm a sucker for Bon Jovi's carefully (and commercially) crafted power ballads. Still like this one. It's fine, but this I'm still a little burnt out on, as it got played and played and played like whoa.

Now, what was the top 40 chart used for Shadoe Stevens American Top 40 (which at the time was withdrawn from the USA and heard only in foreign markets and was in its final months before the 3 year hiatus only to be revived in Spring 1998 by original AT40 host Casey Kasem) like on the December 4, 1994 day of this R&R/Casey's Top 40 chart (The old AT40 was using Billboard's Top 40 Mainstream chart at the time)?

Excellent chart! Is this the one that Rick Dees recently counted down on his 90s show?
