This is like the third time in as many days that I've seen someone is working with Diane Warren...I know 90s is starting to become the new retro rapture but can this not be the part of the decade that the music gods leave behind?

I don't like Diane Warren but "Note To God" is an absolute treasure.

Diane Warren did that?! Well, that was actually one of my favorite songs on The High Road. I just feel like Diane will give JoJo another Exceptional.

I can't wait to see her next week! Her set is short but I don't care.

Get ready for the sappiness. After "Glory" I will take a sappy track so she can snatch a Grammy. Plus it's refreshing to see that Atlantic has her hitting the ground running with all of these studio sessions. They made out good in the bidding war.

Diane Warren is a terrific songwriter, and writes the type of music that suits real vocalists like Jojo. I don't know why it's become so general for people to want to dismiss what DW does, especially since she's easily one of the best songwriters in the industry.
Hell, I'm gonna go a step further and say that I hope David Foster is attached as the producer.

Yes, I'm confident that Diane's gonna give JoJo that one ballad for her album that will properly allow her to sing her face off!

Even though its "uncool" to like Diane, I definitely like a lot of her 80s and 90s songs. I don't think she's written anything I've liked in about 15 years though.

I liked "I Was Here" but can't think of anything else recent that I cared for. It's not that I think anything she's done is genuinely bad so much as that she always walked the thin line between sentimental and forgettably trite, and as of late she has leaned toward the latter. JoJo will sound more than fine on whatever Diane writes for her, but I'm not entirely confident that it will be more than pleasant filler.

My thoughts on Jojo working with Diane Warren are more like.... she fought Blackground for the better part of a decade so she wouldn't have to make sappy pop music anymore, and then?

I'm very much on the fence about the two working together. They have worked together in the past with "Exceptional" and "Note to God." While "Exceptional" is a snoozefest that drags The High Road down, "Note to God" is quite the opposite: a beautiful ballad with lively vocals that acts as an amazing way to close The High Road.
I'm hoping it's just like with The High Road: they record a handful of songs, but only two make the actual album. I'd much rather prefer her to work with Jordan Gatsby (Can't Take That Away From Me), Danja (Jumping Trains), Sean Garrett, and Swizz Beatz (both from The High Road). It would also be nice to see her venture out and work with unfamiliar territory for her. Maybe along the lines of Pharrell Williams (G I R L, "Blurred Lines," "Get Lucky," etc.), Detail ("Drunk in Love," "How to Love," etc.), Mike Will Made-It (Bangerz, "Pour It Up," etc.), etc. I'd like to see her go in a direction that's very much r&b/hip-hop, but not completely abandoning her pop roots. Something along the lines of a poppier BEYONCÉ mixed with a darker Ciara. Something that kind of mixes the best parts of "The Other Chick" and "Disaster" with "In the Dark" and "Sexy to Me."

I really hope they market her as an R&B singer and don't give her watered down Ariana Grande material.

For the record, it was posted in this thread that JoJo has worked with Pharrell on this record. Not sure if I need her rehashing prior producers from her studio albums. Let this be a reinvention of JoJo. I'll definitely take some Detail and Mike Will bangerz though. In the meantime, I really hope Da Internz cooked up some heat for her because their work on #LoveJoJo was perfect.

Yeah I don't need her returning to most if any of the producers of her pop-rock and Blackground past. Hopefully Da Internz are on the album, and I'm very excited for what Pharrell has done with her.

:o at that TLTL performance. I love the new live production, and she sounds great.
She's really stepped up her fashion game, too. I have a feeling this album is going to be huge for her. I'm so excited.

She snatched my soul at Fader Fort. Perfection. Nostalgia all around when she performed the older hits.

Why didn't she do those whistle notes in TLTL tho? ??? Anyway, it's really nice to see her pay respect to those hits that made her known. She performed TLTL with fire and passion.

I didn't really like her 10 years ago when she came out, not like is not a good term just passing liked her but since her hiatus and since I have acclimated myself with her immense talent that she has shown, I literally can't wait for the new, mature version of JoJo. I hope she tears it down!!

I need Urban/R&B JoJo for this album! If we get another Leave/TLTL/Disaster, I'll scream.
