Recently, I saw an upcoming album for the Dixie Chicks listed, a live album supposedly coming out November 25th. There's nothing on their site about this, though, and the site I saw it on isn't affiliated with the Chicks at all. Has anybody else heard anything about this?

It's true. It's called Top Of The World Tour. It's a two-disc album. Here's the tracklisting from Amazon:

Disc 2: 1. A Home 2. Truth No. 2 3. If I Fall You're Going Down With Me 4. Mississippi 5. Cowboy Take Me Away 6. Godspeed (Sweet Dreams) 7. Landslide 8. Ready To Run 9. Wide Open Spaces 10. Top Of The World 11. Sin Wagon

There's a high possibility that I will get this double album because I still haven't gotten my "Home" album yet... I love live albums!

Sounds like a good album. The only problem is I doubt I would purchase it because I have all the other albums. I don't see any new material except the song "Mississippi" doesn't look familiar to me.

I'm glad to see this is true. It'll be an album that I'll have to get when it comes out. The Chicks are an act that I'd love to see in concert someday.

The Dixie Chicks have been performing a cover of Bob Dylan's "Mississippi" on tour.

The Dixie Chicks have been performing a cover of Bob Dylan's "Mississippi" on tour. Thanks! I didn't think I recognized the song as a Chick's original.

I forget but is that the same song on Sheryl Crow's 'Globe Sessions'? I know she has a Bob cover on that CD and I think there's a song called 'Mississippi' so I'm putting two and two together. I wonder if there's a recording somewhere in there of the comment on Bush? Is this their second live album or was that other thing they released a DVD?

This is their first live CD - "An Evening With The Dixie Chicks" was just a DVD. And yeah, "Mississippi" is the same song as the one on The Globe Sessions.

If you look around, you can find a live duet version between Sheryl Crow and The Dixie Chicks.
Maybe Sheryl Crow appears on this new CD.

:) That's great news. I am looking forward to this live release, as the Dixie Chicks work so hard for their fans and deserve to be rewarded.
Although the President Bush comment backlash will certainly affect their sales somewhat, I still believe they will continue to sell rather well, considering "Home" was still the #3 selling Country Album for a few months after the incident, showing the Country market is vulnerable without the Chicks strong sales and that they still have a loyal fan base. There is much reason to believe the Chicks can sell upwards between 300,000 to 400,000 in their first week for this release.
Sincerely, Noah Eaton

Depends on the promotion for the CD. Is 'Top Of The World' being used as the leadoff single from the live compilation? What are sales for 'Home' again? 6X Platinum? Is it being priced as one CD or two?
