Meh, I don't care for "A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart Makes" unless we're talking about this. However, I love "You'll Be In My Heart" and Tarzan. Phil Collins really made some fantastic music for that film, I don't care what anyone says.

I will never forgive you for the disgusting mistreatment of 'Be Prepared' and 'Out There'. That is all. B)

#08. | "Part Of Your World" - The Little Mermaid |
There is so much meaning behind this song (and the reprise of the song is just as perfect and meaningful)! I still remember when I was a kid I'd go find a fork and a corkscrew from the kitchen, grab random items from my mom, dad and sister, and then sit in my bed with all of my toys and replay this part of the movie over and over again on my VHS. I miss being a kid... :( Look at this stuff. Isn't it neat? Wouldn't you think my collection's complete?
#07. | "Circle Of Life" - The Lion King |
Up Next: #06 & and a very special tribute!

Disney has this way, that even if you are watching a happy and uplifting movie they will somehow find a way to crush your soul. Mufasa's death in The Lion King, the first 5 minutes of Up, some of the last scenes in Toy Story 3, when Bambi's mom dies, and many more. It may be that I'm just an emotional person to begin with and cry at anything, but Disney just has that way to make you so happy and so sad within such a short span of time. It's incredible and terrifying! Anyways, this song is incredibly depressing. Listening to the song by itself makes it seem like it is a very sweet and very loving song, but when it is played in the movie, with Jumbo singing, it makes it all more depressing and beautiful. Baby mine, don't you cry. Baby mine, dry your eyes. Rest your head close to my heart, never to part, baby of mine. <3

This part of my countdown is something that is really personal and important to me. Knowing me I'll end up making this too depressing, but I feel like this is a better place than ever to talk about someone really special to me. So.... You Will Always Be In My Heart: A Tribute To My Mama After my mom gave birth to my sister, the doctors said she wouldn't be able to have any more kids. Well, 8 years go by and surprise(!) I come along. Although I always said I was the "accidental baby" in the family, my mom and dad would always say I was the "miracle baby"! BARF! Haha. It's crazy and amazing after 23 years I've finally figured out who I am and what I'm supposed to do with my life and that feeling is all because of my mother. It's been almost 2 years since my mom has passed away and these have, without a doubt, been the 2 hardest years of my life. In the summer of 2010 my mom got really sick and was diagnosed with congestive heart failure, due to a growth developing on one of her heart valves and ended up causing a lot of other problems. I was about to start my third year in college and decided to drop out because I wanted to stay at home with mom and help her with anything that she would need. A couple of major surgeries and a month long stay in Barnes Hospital in St. Louis go by and finally she started to feel better. Christmas that year was nice to have the whole family (mom, dad, my sisters family, and me) together. The next few months go by and by spring of 2011 my mom is doing wonderful. She's able to do things she hasn't been able to do in almost a year! All is going good until summer (again!) of 2011 when she fell and broke her shoulder. Throughout the past year I had stayed at home and been her personal caregiver, so when this happened I was prepared for what was needed to be done. The next few months were really rough for her and although I didn't notice it too well then she was distancing herself from friends and becoming more recluse (something completely unlike her) due to getting sick again. On Thanksgiving of 2011, right after dinner my mom had a heart attack. The paramedics came and got her back to the hospital. At the time one of the nurses thought everything was hopefully going to be fine, so the only way I could cope and try to turn my mind off was to go Black Friday shopping with my friends (like wtf?). Anyways, I was in Macy's when I got the call from my dad saying that I had to come back and say "goodbye". By far the worst phone call anyone could ever receive. Although she was taken off of life support that next morning, she stayed with us until the Monday after Thanksgiving. It just showed what kind of a fighter and survivor she was. It took my about a year to try and start to live my life again without my best friend in it. Although I look at my life and think about how sad it is that my mom isn't here with me, I am able to look back at all of the wonderful things she has done for me and helped shape me to become the man I am today. The main reason I'm doing this tribute within this countdown is because of my mom's love for Disney movies and for the many times we would watch these movies together through the years. Beauty and the Beast was her favorite movie and I can still remember multiple times throughout my life where the two of us would watch that movie and sing a long to the songs. Her love for Disney movies was most obvious whenever anyone would walk into our living room at home. We had countless Disney snowglobes throughout the room and house. Whether it was our trip to Disney World, going to the movie theater to watch a new Disney movie, or just staying at home and re-living these wonderful classics, I thank my mom for raising me on such wonderful things. Disney movies/music has become a huge part of my life. I also thank my mom for putting me on the path that I am now. After high school I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life. I was at the local community college just studying gen ed courses trying to figure out what to do. Some people think I shouldn't have dropped out of school when I did, but I would've have missed so much more precious time with my mom and because I spent all that time as her caregiver and helping her with her countless medications and problems I was finally able to finally able to find my true calling. I want to help people like I helped my mom. After my mom passed I changed positions at my workplace (Hands on with the residents), I did a CNA class with an incredible clinical setting, and finally figured out that I want to be a nurse. I'm currently narrowing down my choices of universities around the country to try and get into their Nursing Programs. Last night I was at one of my closest friends' moms visitation and someone there read something called the Dash Poem. Basically it's stating that on the tombstone the dash between the birth and death dates are the most important. It's about the time the person spends here with us that is the most important. I think about how life isn't fair without my mom in it and how my children will not get the chance to experience time with a person who would've been their biggest influence. It's amazing how much people can take for granted. I'm beyond grateful that I got to spend that last year with her, being next to her side. I got to spend my entire life watching my mom become an incredible fighter and survivor. When she was in her 30s she had Leukemia. I was only a kid during that time, but I've learned since then what she has fought. She fought and conquered the Leukemia. She lost over 200 pounds and changed her life completely with that. She had many more surgeries and all of these heart problems at the end, but every time something happened she kept that smile on her face. No matter what came her way she had the strength to fight it back and that has been the biggest influence on my life. I would do anything to have her back, but I've learned how to live in this world without her physically being here. She is always watching over me all of the time and I know how proud she would be of me. That is the most important thing that I have in my life. Even though my mom isn't here with me doesn't mean that she is really gone. I have the memories that I can look back to all the time. Every Mother's Day I can go outside and plant a bunch of flowers around the house in her memory since that is something we did every Mother's Day. For her birthday or for Christmas I can still go buy a snowglobe in honor of her. All because I was able to be a part of her life and have her be the biggest part of my life while she lived that "dash". Life can be so short, but so beautiful and memorable. Spend time with the people you love. I have an incredible family and an amazing group of friends who have been by my side this whole time and I couldn't be any happier. I am who I am because of my mom. She will always be my best friend, my confidant, and my biggest hero. I love you mama! <3

I can relate to having a parent pass and it's quite a emotionally draining thing to deal with, but I am pretty sure your mother is very proud of you. That tribute to her was wonderful and your strength is beyond respectable.
Kinda playing catch up with the list, but looking forward to seeing how your top 5 pans out here.

Awhh thank you guys for the sweet comments! You all are seriously some of the most amazing people I know! I love you guys! <3 #05. | "When You Wish Upon A Star" - Pinocchio |
Can there seriously be a more iconic Disney song than this one? It is too perfect. The main song (used in the beginning and the end) of Pinocchio is sung wonderfully by Jiminy Cricket (voiced by Cliff Edwards). Unfortunately, that's really the only part of the movie I like since the rest of it terrified me when I was a kid! Anyways, 12 different Disney songs have won an Academy Award for Best Original Song with "When You Wish Upon A Star" being the first recipient in 1940. I seriously love this song sooooooo fucking much! Like, I'm obsessed! This song (along with the next 4 on this countdown) are some of my absolute favorite songs ever! When you wish upon a star makes no difference who you are. Anything your heart desires will come to you.

Soooo #04 tonight, #03 tomorrow, and finish up (fiiinally) sometime this weekend?! I think so! ^_^ #04. | "Colors of the Wind" - Pocahontas |
When I was a kid I didn't like this movie. I honestly have no idea why in the world I didn't like it then, but I can remember being in my friend's house and telling her how I didn't like this movie. (Then she yelled at me, of course)! Thankfully I absolutely love this movie now! Disney has countless iconic songs that are everyone's favorites and this is one of them! The meaning behind the song is incredibly strong and it's just so amazing. The music is wonderful! It won the Academy Award for Best Original Song in 1995 (Alan Menken's 4th win for that category)! With so many of these wonderful Disney soundtracks, a big artist is usually attached with it singing the "main" song or at least singing some song (See: Céline Dion, Christina, etc.) and with Pocahontas we had Vanessa Williams sing this song. I tend to always love the movie version more than the artist's version, but I do love Vanessa's version (I mean she gave us "Save the Best for Last" and that's all I ever needed)! Anyways I don't know what else I was going to say, but the point is this song is incredibly powerful and beautiful! <3 We need to sing with all the voices of the mountains. We need to paint with all the colors of the wind.Bam! Top 3 now! What are they?! Go! ;)

Omg I'm staying true to my word! I'm so proud of myself right now! XD #03. | "I'll Make A Man Out Of You" - Mulan |
Sure, this song may be a little higher than expected, but it is one of the catchiest songs Disney has released! Mulan is, in my opinion, one of Disney's most underrated movies. I know it was a success, but I still feel like it never got as big as it should have. Mulan is a kick-ass heroine and the entire film is just so much fun. I think the thing that helps boost this song for me is the scene for which this song appears in. The ending with Mulan climbing up the huge pole to get the arrow is just too flippin' perfect! Love it! Had I made up this list 5 years ago, I don't think this song would have been close to being this high, but over the past few years (spending time re-watching all of Disney's animated movies) it's quickly become one of my absolute favorite songs! You're unsuited for the rage of war, so pack up, go home you're through. How could I make a man out of you?Next Up (sometime this weekend): My favorite Disney princesses list and the end of the countdown! I'm kind of sad...I don't want this to end!

I literally live for "I'll Make a Man Out You", one of my all time favorite sequences in Disney history. I definitely agree that Mulan is underrated.
I always say Mulan and Hercules are my favorite films from the Disney Renaissance and most people are life wtf is wrong with you, but I don't care because I know I'm right. Late but I love this countdown :)
