Now that video is worth seeing! I am running my own personal contest on which will happen first: 1. Billboard will change its' formula yet again due to the uproar over "Harlem Shake" reaching #1 almost solely on Youtube video streams (91% of its' chart points according to Billboard); 2. Billboard will iron out all the bugs that have infested its' redesigned website. I am betting on #1 considering the kind of the progress they are making on #2. As for the March 9th, 2013 HOT100, I am betting that "Thrift Shop" will be #1, "Harlem Shake" #2, "Stay" #3. "When I Was Your Man" will make a big push upwards (I think it has #1 written all over it). |

Ah, but it will have YouTube streaming. The official audio video has 400k views in one day. Granted, that's world wide, but still pretty good. Its airplay it likely to be pretty well for her too. Nothing like "Boyfriend," "Born This Way," "Suit & Tie," etc., but 10 mill seems possible to me. Its sales are obviously going to be its highest point earner. It's now selling over "Thrift Shop" (combined) 1 to .8653. If it can hold that for a while, 300k doesn't seem too crazy of a number. It's probably not top five bound, but top ten could be likely. Top 20 seems a lock to me. |

The issue with the Billboard rule isn't that they include YouTube videos, it's that 20 or 30 second parody clips can count as much as a full played song stream. They should only count for a fraction of a regular stream.
