What also would have been a nice touch for the video: Putting Mimi in the land of Oz, or in a setting resembling a scene from the movie. Nothing about the video or message of the song is supposed to be funny, but that doesn’t keep one from letting out a chuckle accompanied by an endearing, “Oh, Mariah.” It feels like it’s been years since we’ve watched a soundtrack single’s video that included clips from the actual movie. For the Oz the Great and Powerful‘s lead single, director Dave LaChapelle goes vintage. The black and white scenes of the crooner contrast with the bright colors of the sneak peek clips of the flick. And, of course, there are the diva dramatics. In her black floor length gown, Mariah awkwardly tries to figure out how to move —sexy or not-too sexy?— to a song for a Disney film. There’s the waddle-walk in front of a chair and the one finger point as her vocal register rises. There’s the sad gaze into space to match the semi-melancholy of the lyrics. Her coat drop onto the floor was uber theatrical. She follows that up with her hands moving in a ballerina motion. The finger point returns. The infamous Mariah walk, which really looks like a heavy stomp, is back just in time for her to let herself go into the wind fan blowing her hair. Mariah tops that with a quick hip swivel. After that she gets low for a kneel hugging herself while inches away from the floor. After hugging herself she’s in the mood for a two-step, more hand motions and a single tear. When the Stargate bass booms, Mariah spins around, whipping her crown and glory while rubbing her hips and butt. It’s a sight to see, especially for the children who are sure to be watching. Finally she hits her highest notes with her arms wide open, fists clenched, looking toward the sky. Wait…she’s not done. Her step forward, step back is now in full effect until she lets it all go for her final beautiful riffs that capture a single tear on the opposite cheek. We love Mimi. Only Mariah could execute what we’ve described above in such a diva fashion. |

I try to be supportive of everybody. I mean I know I've been accused of being "too nice." It is not being nice. There is a way to give a critique where you say "I'm not sure this was your best performance. I prefer when you sing in this register..." Constructive criticism and... that's just how I am as a person. I'm not going to put on an act and be like somebody else so that everybody can feel like I'm being honest. I'm always being honest."

Children are certain to be watching this music video? Oh, and the worst thing they could see in this day and age is a woman running her hand up her hips as she turns around. Mariah is corrupting our youth! |

So...that video threatened to ruin the song for me. It was the WORST kind of campy. I kept laughing at all the random movements. There were legit too many for me to even remember. Oh...and that ending where LaChapelle synched the characters screaming to Mariah's final money note...  |

I went and saw 'Oz the Great and Powerful' and it was alright. 'Almost Home' was played so late during the credits which was kinda annoying but whatever.
As for the video, well Mariah looks lovely but she was delivering a lot of awkward moments. Meh.
I liked what she said as it pertains to her judging on American Idol. It's a shame that some people view one being honest and 'keeping it real' as being rude. I think she's done a great job on AI, although I wouldn't mind them switching up the seating as oppose to Mariah being the 'closer'. She's also been looking gorgeous and chic as of late and hopefully she will continue doing so. :)

Well I was trying to be nice. Yes...I guess the only people still sitting will be lambs. :) Someone said its a different version that plays during the credits. Anyone seen it yet to know for sure? I'm guessing it's not the first song to play as the credits roll, huh? Like Swift's "Safe & Sound". It's definitely a different mix. I have the video on repeat, and Ive had it on repeat for about a day. Will all this really help her? or am I doing it for nothing, and it only counted the first time?
Oh WoW it is different, it has more ad-libs. I liek it better, How can we get that version?
In the American Idol video above She looks so skinny, and healthy and You can almost tell theres a new era upon us.

 at that "classy" outfit. And people thought Nicki would be the one flopping her titties around. If she showed up in her Loverboy outfit I'd agree with you but this ain't Saudi Arabia a little cleavage doesn't equal lack of class. The dress to me is spectacular and I'd love to wear it myself. |

The hell? I understand people complaining about that one dress with all the boob, but that lace outfit and the "Almost Home" video don't strike me as slutty at all yet she's getting attacked for her clothing choices. You'd think this is 2001, but she's wearing twice as much clothing. I guess they're expecting a turtle neck and jeans.
