Well 'someone' needs to tell her that before it's too late.lol Who am I kidding, I'm pretty sure it's been brought up to her by someone. I know money shouldn't be that big of issue as far as paying the producers and I would assume it's not like a lot of producers have Mariah blacklisted. So I don't know what's the deal. It has. Karen Kwak tried to hook her up with a lot of producers not that long ago. I have heard that. Do we really know that to be the case? Or is that mere hearsay about Karen trying to make some connections? If so, that's a sad commentary that she flat out refused even meeting some of these people to see what kind of vibe they would have. She has the money and resources to work with anyone imaginable. That will remain the one thing about the woman I love so much that I find a mystery, and very disappointing. She's waaaaayy too talented and versatile to continually box herself in creatively, using MOST of the same people, for the sake of comfortability. |

Or is that mere hearsay about Karen trying to make some connections? If so, that's a sad commentary that she flat out refused even meeting some of these people to see what kind of vibe they would have. She has the money and resources to work with anyone imaginable. That will remain the one thing about the woman I love so much that I find a mystery, and very disappointing. She's waaaaayy too talented and versatile to continually box herself in creatively, using MOST of the same people, for the sake of comfortability. There are also rumors that Mariah and the Island execs are not communicating much at this point. It seems like they have very different ideas about what Mariah she should be doing. |

What do you guys think about Mariah possibly letting other songwriters for her? Before y'all start throwing tomatoes, hear me out.
Mariah strikes me as the kind of writer that gets their rocks off when they are going through something. We got the Butterflies, Rainbows, Glitters, Charmy, and TEOM when she was going through it. She had something to say. Now, in her personal life, she finally has everything she wants. She's married to a man that wonderful to her, she has dem babies, and she's made more money than she could have ever imagined laying on somebody's mattress 25+ years ago. Maybe her inspiration is gone - which may be the reason the material isn't up to snuff...
Writing 97% of 12 studio albums seems like a tall task. Maybe she has writer's block and needs some other material to sink her teeth into until she gets it together. Who knows.
IDK, just a thought.

I wonder how many albums are left on Mariah's contract. We haven't heard anything about her contract in about a decade, so no one knows what her current contract is like. Her original Island contract was apparently renegotiated after The Emancipation of Mimi, but the details were never publicly released.

After E=MC2, she had an option to release another album (and she did -- Memoirs) to fulfill her contract. Since she released MCIIY, I'm guessing she resigned (before LA left). Typically it's a 3+ deal, but I'm sure she has a clause letting her buy herself out if she wants.

It's really not when you consider that the Sountrack released was The Original Score of the movie which would contain music originally composed. Mariah's song is more of a one off promotional single unless they decide to release an album Inspired By. She can still be nominated for a Golden Globe since it was written specifically for the movie. |

Well, that's good- it would have been completely nonsensical to tout it as from the movie and it not appear at all. Sometimes, if a song's not heard in the actual movie, there's an instrumental or something heard. Ask him if he recalls any AH instrumental instances. |

According to Simone Porter who is one of the writers, she went to the premiere and the song does play right after the film ends...as the closing credits.
