People always say this like those songs were yesterday. It's been almost two decades since "Always Be My Baby" and nearly a decade since "We Belong Together". Jermaine hasn't produced a major hit since 2005. The last single we got from them was "Triumphant," which was straight up garbage. This is another case of a songwriting duo that produced magic years ago who aren't necessarily demonstrating that they still have that magic. As much as pop stars don't stay on top forever, neither do producers. It's the same way I feel about her working with Walter again. Yeah, they produced song great songs years ago, but Walter hasn't demonstrated that the quality of his more recent output is on the level of Mariah's big 90s hits either. Could Jermaine end up producing an amazing single for Mariah? Sure. But the chances are looking incredibly slim right now. I just think that's giving her co-producers too much blame/credit. Mariah has complete control of her music at this point. I wasn't giving credit to anyone. I was saying that just because Mariah and Jermaine had "magic" 10 and 20 years ago doesn't mean they have it now. |

Mariah is in control of who she works with, but Jermaine definitely has an influence on the material they come up with together. They have a general style when they work together that she doesn't have when she works with other people (except B.Cox who got his start under JD anyway). |

What is funny is I always think of Gwen Stefani's video for Cool when I think of #Beautiful. She really missed out on a golden opportunity to really make some noise with that single with bad execution. Omg, yes! Totally would've worked. |

Just like I don't expect a 2013 Mimi ballad to be the next Vision of Love , I don't expect the next JD and Mimi collaboration to be the next WBT or ABMB. Triumphant is just one of a series of hot garbage they did in the last few years.
If you bf cheated on 6 times you'd be stupid to stay and expect there wouldn't be a 7th time.

It's weird that AIWFCIY is not inside the top 100 iTunes Xmas songs. It's usually #1 or 2 and never leaves the top 5. Odd.
I also noticed if you search for her first Xmas album on iTunes all of the reviews are gone. I hope it's just a glitch.

It must be a glitch because "AIWFCIY" was #1 on Holiday Digital Songs last week per Billboard. |

They should have done that last year when Christmas fell on the last day of the chart week and the song had buzz from the Fallon performance. |
