Mimi is trending on CNN and other news outlets for her comments on American Idol in her interview on Hot97. I wonder why it took so long to catch on. LOL!

I don't understand why people have an issue with the lyrics; I love them. My favorite part right now is: "Evidently your words were merely lies/Reverberating in my ears, and the echo won't subside" Anyway, how have I missed this piece of perfection for the past 19 years? youtu.be/AGd3yUnKYM8I don't think people have an issue with the lyrics or content per se. I think the issue lyrically lies in the fact that she is unnecessarily verbose in parts of the verses where had she worded it better it wouldn't sound as clustered when she sings the verses.

I wish they'd focus more on the comment she made about contestants not being put through for political reasons. Seems she was about to start an Idol controversy. But, at this point, Idol lawyers probably told her to shut her trap.

Does anyone else feel like at the very end when she says " It ain't easy baby" and then sighs she should have sang "letting go" to wrap up the song?

No.
But I love this record now, it's everything. The only place this could do anything would be on pop, and it would have to hit in a way that Stay, or a Bruno ballad would.

I don't know how that would sound, but I will say the end is probably my favorite part of the song. I love how after belting the hell out of the song, she reins it back in at the end, takes that breath to exhale, and muses "It ain't easy baby." That is all just perfect to me because it's like she has processed it all and that's where she's at emotionally.

Talking about her boobs: http://instagram.com/p/guHIk0S4eL # Did she say "I'm a straight girl I don't really know why they asked me to be here but my boobs have been out for years"?

LOL! She's really reminding me of late 90s/early 00s Mariah lately, before she got boring after Glitter.

She is Mariah Carey she can wear whatever she wants, its just new and over the top which i adore. She is a drag queen's dream diva, so over the top and she don't give a fuck no more.

The gloves are because she still has nerve damage to the one hand and has bandages.
Anyway, I don't get people going in on the lyrics for "TAOLG." I am living for them, with these being the highlights: - "I no longer live in your dominion" - "Gotta bundle your possessions outside the kitchen window right now" - "Evidently your words were merely lies/Reverberating in my ears, and the echo won't subside" - "Your audacity is too much to be believed so/go to Mimi in your contact, press delete"

Sometimes I feel like Mariah fans give her points for throwing middle school vocab words into her lyrics as if that makes for good songwriting. Different strokes I guess. I know a lot of people hated a lot of the quirky, tongue in cheek lyrics on Memoirs, and I loved them.

I can understand why some would have a problem with the wording, but I don't mind it. Then again, I'm a big Alanis fan, so I'm used to very wordy songs.
She's looking damn fine in the last pic. I love that she always acts and dresses like a true star.

funny Mariah 'liked' this video on youtube I'll say it again, no idea what children's show this girl came from but she is going to have a great career. She can really fucking sing.

I also liked the tongue in cheek lyrics on Memoirs and imo Obsessed had great one liners, but here I don't think they flow. I do like the "press delete" phrase. M has a tendency to add those -ly suffixes, and they aren't pretty. "Evidently", "exceedingly".. totally useless use of words. Or then "I hope you don't have plans.. it's the last thing I truly need" midway through the song when she already called him a trifle and threw his stuff out of the window... we kinda know that already. It's a bit overwrought and clumsy.

I have to agree, I think the lyrics for both TAOLG and for Triumphant were like a series of unrelated statements - I'm certainly not feeling the depth of these lyrics like some others are

I really wish there was some indication on the (non?) status of TAOLG. Why doesn't she or Island or JD let us know if it's not a single. At this point in its run, Triumphant was falling out of the top 100 on iTunes. So I suppose this is performing slightly better.

I've seen Mariah getting some horrible feedback on multiple news outlets for her comments on American Idol now (when the news should be about the disaster aftermath in the Philippines or the ongoing crisis in Syria instead of celeb rag culture but that's a whole other topic of discussion. Ohhhhh how American media created the bubble we live in).
ANYWAY, Mariah is being painted as a spoiled brat and I can kind of see it. She got paid $18 million to do a job for less than half of a year. Most people dislike their jobs but must go daily for much longer periods of time; what's their salary topping off at? For her to say stuff like "I had to go every day" makes her come across incredibly out of touch. People don't wish to hear someone complain about a part of life that everyone puts up with. It's even more cringe when the person complaining is so freakin' fortunate and blessed.

Yeah, they're also not reporting that her next line was "I'm just kidding, it wasn't that bad."
