So don't come on BET and rub your body to backing track or flat out mime when this is the voice god gave you. I'm hard on her cause I love her and know her ability. I'm a little worried that she's gonna structure the songs on her new album like these impromptu performances, which is what TAOLG essentially is. I'm not here for her singing random lines over some basic piano chords, no ma'am. Save that for live performances and concerts.

I would love to see Mariah do like a mini web series of her singing randomly at weird or interesting places like one week in a grocery store, another at the mall, on the subway or on a bus just doing random improv moments. It can be like where will she sing next week and who will be her audience. It can all lead up to a big performance on one of the networks when her album is ready.

I got enough material to eat off Mimi for a lifetime. Now keep giving me them epic runs, whistles, and vocals gurl! Can't wait for this album. Now just dont give me more Triumphant..... unless it's in the vein of the Pulse Remix. She spoke to me on that one.

It's not necessarily a "single", though, I guess. But if it's not, why do Fallon and radio interview and the big Facebook deal? But, if it is, why is there no news about radio, or other promotion? I think it's pretty clear the label did not support the release/promotion of "TAOLG." Mariah and JD went ahead and promoted it a bit anyway, though. In this day and age, it's tougher than ever to determine what is an actual single. "TAOLG" isn't a single in the traditional sense (i.e. no video and not being sent to airplay), but it got more promotion than an album track. What do people consider "Dark Horse" by Katy Perry? It hasn't been promoted in any way except an early iTunes release, but I'd call it a hit as well as it has been selling. If it's never promoted, will it be considered a single? Promo singles. |

And THAT is why I love Mariah Carey. She is so amazing when she is natural and not worrying about how her hair is sitting and where the camera is. I loved the mention of her "bad side" :)

But who has a job they hate and doesn't complain about having to go to it every day? Then you should understand why working people would not want to hear someone complain about $18 million for something that's so temporary anyway. Appreciate that you're fortunate. I'm not put off by it personally; I've known and loved Mariah long enough where I can laugh along with her. Still, a spade is spade. She's out of touch. Sorry, but not everything's about money. Time is probably more important, especially for her since she already has her millions. She clearly wasn't thankful because the money didn't make up for the shit time she had. But I guess the reaction is more telling of people willing to do whatever to make money, even if it comes at the expense of their well being. Anyways, the video was really good. Loved the reference to Idol. |

A comment or joke like that in a different audience might not have went over too well. |
