Thanks Pissy! I must have missed that, I love Mimi+Dream on Memoirs! It was the best r&b music since Butterfly. Emancipation was more pop/r&b with old school soul music. It hard to explain what I mean so don't ask dahhlings I totally get ya on that Mimi comparison. Memoirs is classic, and "Betcha Gon' Knows" makes everyone else's favorites souls and hearts bleed. I love Betcha Gon' Know. That and Ribbon(Lovveee this song) are my top 2 favorite jams from Memoirs. I also enjoy Obsessed, HATEU, Standing O, It's A Wrap, and Languishing. |

"So Lonely" charted on the main R&B chart and also cracked the rhythmic top 40. Looks like it had an impact date, and charted on those charts thereafter.
I prefer the original version of "Say Somethin'", though the Morales mix is good. Not big on the So So Def mix.

Well, it didn't fare all that well, even considering it didn't go for official play. I imagine the next single, if it's close to the album release, will fare better.

I am so confused as to what she and her team are doing. I wish they would be more direct. She got attention for like 5 minutes and now all is quiet again. What is the point of doing anything if it isn't going to sustain attention until the album release?

"The Art of Letting Go" didn't take off on the charts as many of us hoped. I don't think it is commercial enough for today's radio. It's a pretty good song but I think it is better suited to remain an album track. I wonder what Mariah and her team are doing. She keeps dropping these teaser singles without an album out. I wonder whether she will even put Beautiful and Triumphant (Get 'Em) on this new album whenever it does get released. It seems like it will be weird to include them now that so much time has passed.
Also do any of you think Mariah is bisexual. I think she gives off a gay vibe (not that there's anything wrong with it.) I know she is close friends with Da Brat. I've always wondered whether there was something more going on between those two. Also Mariah did a remix of Heartbreaker with Missy Elliot. Rumor has it that in order to work with Missy a female has to eat Missy's cvnt. What do you all think?

I'm really not understanding why TAOLG was hyped up and released at all if they're just going to pretend that it never happened. All these "buzz singles" and no real first singles are beginning to be a bit too much, this is along the lines of Ciara and Ashanti.

I think they're trying to build up hype for the album by giving a preview of a big vocal ballad (and following in the path of so many major acts doing pre-album digital "countdown" singles). Unfortunately, the response was very mixed (even among her own fans) so I think it had a negative impact on hype instead of getting people more excited for her new album.

I was hoping her talking with Prince when they were both on Fallon would lead to something, but the two of them have interacted for years so I don't know why I thought that one thing would lead to something. Her version of "The Beautiful Ones" might be my favorite cover she's done, and I'd be all for them recording an original along the lines of "Sometimes It Snows In April." |

That's the most frustrating thing. She's Mariah Carey with incredible super human powers so she could work with the greats out there. It's not like Britney Spears or Jessica Simpson asking to work with Stevie or Prince.
Shocking musical legend collabo's is what's going to get the industry interested in her album. If the press release comes out and it says she's worked with Big Jim, JD and Rodney Jerkins it wont spark as much interest as if it says; featured on the album are Stevie Wonder and Prince! She's at that level now where she can do that.
Also, she's going to need label support. Some of the best (most critically acclaimed) albums have never been a hit commercially or even heard by many people because the artist/group is at odds with the label. The label is the only machine that can get her album to be a commercial success. Not Youtube, not Facebook, not Twitter. So she needs to really get them on board and excited.
