Thanks, Pissy. I'm a little stoned and buzzed. By the way, I am obsessed with your avatar. The same way I'm obsessed with you? Oh? :o

I'm not familiar with R. Kelly's work, but I do think he adds a lot to "Do What U Want," so I'm excited. Listen up on his work. The man is a genius to his genre. I can't wait for this collabo. He's about to complete the trinity with Mariah. Celine Dion hit #1 in the late 90s with their song and Whitney's I Look To You is just...... lawd that song makes me cry every time. It's perfect.

A big ol' 1990's convention! I was banging on the table to have my favorite diva duet with my favorite 90's r&b male artist and on top of that she working with my favorite 90's rapper Nas with a host of 90's producers! Who said you can't turn back the hands of time

I love Kelly Clarkson, and am buying her album now that it's $6.99 on iTunes...
but, let's see if she, or any other mainstream artist now, can send her Christmas album into the top 40 on iTunes (or whatever is relevant) in the year 2032 (nineteen years from now). Merry Christmas is currently the #5 selling Christmas album. Queen of Christmas.
And, for no other newsworthy reason other than it's that time of year again, she's a top search on Yahoo.

iTunes' holiday chart oddly doesn't include all holiday releases (as some are classified under a different genre). Nonetheless, AIWFCIY still is the top holiday track. :)

^I was referring more to the Xmas list that l!nk!in had posted, as the rankings thereafter aren't really accurate, with the missing tracks, which are not classified as holiday. :)
It is odd that some holiday albums are classified as they are (i.e. Kelly Clarkson)- whether it's labeled "pop" or "holiday," people will find it.

This album will be interesting. I hope it is R&B more in the vein of say The Roof, Breakdown, WBT, Circles, So Lonely, Side Effects, Last Kiss, Ribbon, Candy Bling and/or H.A.T.E.U. I like those type of R&B songs from her. Oh and Betcha Gon' Know is my jam too!

I was in H.E.B. this morning (Texans know!) and they were playing Oh Santa! I was surprised at how many people were bopping to it right along with me. Such a festive uptempo jam. Getting my ingredients for BBQed jalapeno wrapped bacon and this woman next to me getting cream cheese was lip-synching for her life to it. Also got cruised by somebody seeing me sing it.

I love her hair color and the length of the hair in that Glamour photo shoot. She should revisit it.

I like Clown, but Clown like every song on that album suffers from terrible vocals/mixing. I would have enjoyed Clown if it was sung in full voice. Fantastic lyrics though.

Yeah the vocals are a little annoying, but I think for this song it works. Definitely would sound better in her full voice though! That voice she does throughout the entire album should only be used in small doses.

Well my problem is she is using her nice whispery voice for a song filled with lyrical barbs. She needed to use her full voice more to convey the vitriol of the lyrics more.

Anyone recall Merry Christmas chart run last year? #27 on iTunes currently is higher than I remember it going a year ago. ETA: Chart dated 12/15 it rose to #62 on the Top 200. I hope she's getting some physical sales as well. Maybe she can top that chart position for the next chart.

"Oh Santa" would be a lot better if she didn't mumble so much; I don't know what she is singing for a lot of the verses. It also doesn't really have a melody for the chorus.
As for "Clown," I love that jam! It would definitely be better with some remastering, but it's still good. The lyric and melody are great, and I actually think the airy vocal works well in being casually dismissive. If she sang more angrily, then it would mean it was all affecting her.

I will always be appreciate for Clown lyrics, earlier this year it gave me ammunition against barbz and their leader. Mimi always thinks ahead!
And the little boy inside Often sits at home alone And cries, cries, cries, cries (Boo hoo. Who?)
Who's gonna love you When it all falls down, and Who's gonna love you When your bankroll runs out (When your bankroll runs out) Who's gonna care when the novelty's over When the star of the Show isn't you anymore Nobody (Nobody)
Your pain is so deep rooted What will your life become Sure you hide it But you're lost and lonesome Still just a frail shook one Nobody cares when the tears of a clown (You're no superhero) Fall down... (I guess your mamma never told you that what goes around comes around. Pow)
