Eh...much as I love him as a musician we have to keep in mind that even before all this hit the fan there was nowhere for him to go but up. His last album flopped miserably; urban fans had been increasingly writing him off since 2012 in conflicting ways (first for "making too much pop music" on Looking 4 Myself, and then for "chasing trends" when he gave them a fully urban Hard II Love); and I also believe his black female fanbase took a big hit when he went through that nasty custody battle with Tameka (also back in 2012). Then you add on top of all of that, this same fanbase that he's been struggling to hold on to is pretty homophobic - being bi is even worse than passing out herpes in their eyes. In fact, some/most of them blame DL men for the rise in STDs among black women. A lot of them are never going to let him recover from finally being outed.
All that is to say, he has nothing else to lose from courting a different fanbase now. He'd definitely win more sympathy and support by embracing his sexuality than trying to go deeper into the closet. He doesn't have to be OTT about it - he's always been a pretty lowkey guy in terms of his personal life when you think about it, so it probably wouldn't feel natural for him to start shoving it in our faces and become a political advocate overnight or anything. He may not be ready for all that. But address it in some interviews, say that in a weird way a huge weight has been lifted off his shoulders, settle the lawsuits, and move on.
I think it's going to be hard for him to take a huge step like that though because he's been closeted for so long, probably surrounded by people who are less than encouraging or supportive about it (remember, no one in his crew rolls like that lol) and because in the past few years he's become more outspoken about politics and racial issues. It's going to be hard for him to maintain his connection to the black community when, just being real here, too much of the black community is still not able or willing to embrace the LGBT community.

I agree that the general urban audience would sooner forgive Chris Brown for sitting Rihanna's annoying ass down with a few punches than for Usher being half gay.
But Herpes alone won't kill him. It's humanizing and humbling him, I hope.

So are we just assuming he's bi because one man claims he gave him herpes? Welp. I mean it could be possible and nothing wrong with that, but assuming it's 100% true because of this claim is pushing it imo.
The thirst is real with these cases, I can see the man being the fakest one.

Where there smoke, there's usually an inferno. Stories about Usher being into men on the low as well as into transgendered escorts are nothing new but his fans will cling to his supposed heterosexuality like barnacles cling to a sea rock. Old women STILL think Luther was straight and singing to them LOL.

There was a blind item years ago that Diddy put Usher on to fooling around with men and women when he used to live with him at 14 years old. There's been gay/bi rumors about Diddy for decades too. There was also that sexual assault lawsuit filed recently against Diddy from his staff (one including a man).

I'm distraught that in 2017 there is so much buzz about anyone's sexuality. I thought no one cared about this anymore? I hate the world

We have a celebrity lawyer milking gossip/namedropping to the maximum for her own benefit here. How many cases regarding herpes require their own press conference? There's been no verdict yet, but we have everyone acting like any accusation is fact. It all seems so messy and that any regard for professionalism has been thrown out of the window

You really think Usher coming out as gay/bi would kill his career? Because I actually think it's his only shot at reviving it. Yes. He has been sexualized since he was 17 years old. The biggest chunk of his fanbase aint here for it, and the gheys are not large enough in numbers to make a difference. I'm not saying it's right, but facts are facts. Hell, ask Tevin Campbell. But this isn't the 1990s, and being queer is somewhat in vogue. The issue here is most of Usher's fanbase is DOA and what's left is largely a black audience that really doesn't buy his music anyway. He has nothing to lose and, like myself and another poster said, this could revitalize his career if done right. I think having herpes is more damaging than coming out as bisexual. I mean, it totally kills his sex appeal to both men and women. What's the worst that could happen? He comes out bisexual and continues his marriage to his lovely wife Grace who shows that she's there for moral support and then go on Oprah or Ellen, like I suggested, get some sympathy from the non-blacks and let that be that. That's if these allegations are true. What else is he going to do if this man has undeniable proof? Surely, he can't go on behaving the way he is now with this whole silent treatment thing. lol

It's widely been known that any man that dates Chili has been or will be gay.

Well, the fire in Usher's pants is literally and figuratively what is hot in these streets rn But yeah I...um...*checks calendar to make sure this isn't the most elaborate April Fool's joke ever* look I got nothing (and neither does Lisa Bloom). I didn't wake up prepared for this (and apparently, neither did Lisa Bloom). I'm going back to bed.

You know what, Usher should release a video of him singing and dancing to a remix of this and then just disappear on all our asses again for the rest of the damn year. I would not even be mad.

I feel like he would release a single called "The Fire In My Pants" and have will.i.am on it and get Marc Kinchen to produce it, including a sample from Marc's own hit "Burnin". :Sip2:

The comments though. It's like she willingly volunteered to be cyber bullied. A lot of comments mention August Alsina. Perhaps there's a pattern here? ETA: She also has "11.4k followers" but can't cross 100 likes on most of her pics? Some of her recent pictures can't even rack up 30 likes. A tell-tale sign of purchasing followers, another (smaller scale) scam, but yet she celebrates her 10,000th follower in its own post: "Just hit 10k followers and I'm super excited that 10,000 thought I was worth following." I'm howling.
