I just heard TK's new single on the radio. It sounds like it could be a big hit. I like it much better than "Whiskey Girl".

I heard it yesterday and... bleh! I cannot stand it. Surprise, surprise Oh, and my radio station does a "5 o'clock test track" each day where they play a new song. 2/3 of the people didn't like it. Some said the message was terrible.

It's awful like virtually everything he's released in the last 5 years.

This isn't from "Shock'N Y'all".
Is this the lead single from his Greatest Hits package?
Sincerely, Noah Eaton

This song is very busy. There is a lot of stuff going on in between him singing such as, horns, speaking parts. It's gonna be a five week number one before the end of August but I sure wish it wasn't. If I could rant for a second about Male Vocalist of the Year. What is the basis for the award. I always thought is was for best all around singer. If that is the case than why is Toby getting this award so much. He is by far not the best singer, even the biggest Toby fans agree. He may be the best entertainer but not the best singer. Sorry!!

Looks like it will debut #27 this week.

This song is either going to be the biggest smash of the 2nd half of the year, or the biggest flash-in-the-pan outside Bob Carlisle.

I don't like this at all - better than AS, COTRWB and WYD, but still pretty bad. Nonetheless, it'll probably get 3-5 weeks at #1. This song kinda reminds me of Lorrie Morgan & Sammy Kershaw's "He Drinks Tequilla" (that's not really a good thing ;)).

I don't like the lyrics, the music, the message it conveys, the production, or the singer. Other than that, it's great! OK OK, I'm envious of his effortless chart success, I'll readily admit. It irks me that other quality songs by other deserving acts languish around for weeks, plodding slowly upward, while he slices and dices his way up the charts with stuff that often grates on my ears. I figure I'm in the tiny minority because his sales and chart success mean he's one popular dude, right?

I agree 100%. I don't like the message that affairs are OK as long as the other spouse doesn't know. And the fact that the deserving songs won't make #1 because of ridiculous songs like this. He has made many songs that I like, but this is another example of one that I can't stand. I heard it for the first time today and just shook my head, because I always think they can't get worse, and they DO, and they keep becoming HUGE HITS! Anyway, couldn't have said it better than Perpetual Emotion. ..

Seems to be slowing down. I'm not sure of the exact # of spins as of yesterday, but it was 1200something. Today it is 1278 only. Maybe it's chart run will look like this? lol

This is his worse song to date and that's saying a lot because for the most part I can't stand Toby. Has anyone seen the video? To me it seems like there was a concept for a video and the song was written to follow the storyline. I know this sounds odd but when I saw the video that's the first thing that came to mind.

-34 today after being -5 yesterday. I know some songs that go on to be huge lose their bullets around this portion of the chart (#10 or so), but this can't be great news for him.

It would be only good if the radio stations actually listen to the song too and how good it is, instead of going by who sings it. Since everyone are saying this song is not good, then could it be the charting position actually will show it this time?

Actually, the fact that this song BARELY managed a 52% 'Pick' vote (vs. the 48% who 'flicked' it) on Blair Garner's 'After Midnite' show should have told everybody that it was going to be a real struggle for this song to go top five.

Well, since I've never "appreciated" the music of Toby in the past, as a true fan would, it's not surprising that this is my favorite of his, so far. As already mentioned, there are so many layers to it, I can't help but enjoy it even more each time I listen to it. To me, it's not "busy", it's ethnically abundant. [In comparison, I find Kenny Chesney's attempt(s) at...whatever he's calling it now....beach party music?....cheesy and without substance.] The un-guitar-sounding guitar, as well as the horns of Mariachi-ville, all throughout "Mexico" make me wanna shake my booty all over the place.
As for the message contained therein, it's just a song. It would be great if everyone who listened to Toby ran out and joined the service; came home to an easy, drunken Whiskey Girl [or Boy]; then road off with his beer-laden horse and a duffle bag full of Jack Daniels....I'd rather stay in Mexico.

It's between this and 'Who's Your Daddy' for his worst song ever; thank goodness this one isn't going to #1 like that dreadful song did!!!

I am not that fond of this song, but Toby Keith is an awsome person and a great music artist. I am sure if we look at all of you who are criticizing this song lives', I am sure I could trash you too. Not every song will be perfect or appealing to everyone. As for real terrorists...the real terrorists are Liberals and Democrats. GO BUSH!! ;)

Down two spots to #8, with a single-digit bullet. Would it be wrong of me to hope that this is a sign fo things to come for Mr. Keith?

I doubt this is a sign of things to come. This was just a bad single choice.
