I like the other new songs, "Don't" & "I Ain't No Quitter". IANQ is the countriest thing she's done since her debut (maybe even ever). I don't know how receptive country radio will be to "Don't", so hopefully it's not the second single.

I am shocked at "I Ain't No Quitter." I'm really happy to see her make a VERY country song. I also think that "Don't" sounds different from the ballads from Up. I loved the album "Up", but I'm glad to see she's moved on. I'm looking forward to getting this cd and her dvd.

Now, up against Britany, Toby, and Eminem. But E will only get in 4 days of sales instead of 7, b/c of Friday release date.
Sales: I still say 650k-700k first week. It will be interesting to see what HITS predicts (for all 3 releases).

Wow! "I Ain't No Quitter" is great! I would love to see this released as a purely country single, and have her forget about pop all together. The pop atmosphere right now wouldn't take ANYTHING from Shania. Hoping for good things...

Shania has a new interview in "TV Guide." The new "TV Guide" interview also includes new Shania photos. The date of the "TV Guide" is November 7 - 13 and it has Shania or[/B] the "Desperate Housewives" cast on the cover. You can read the complete "TV Guide" Shania interview here... lounge.teamshania.com/showthread.php?t=5482Edit:[/B] Some people are saying that Shania is on the cover of "TV Guide" in some areas of the country. One part of the U.S. seems to be getting the issue with Shania on the cover. The other part of the U.S. is getting the issue with the "Desperate Housewives" on the cover. The inside part of the magazine is the same, including the Shania interview & new photos. The only difference is the cover.

This is the day! When HITS posts their predicts, either today or tomorrow, I will post them here. If you are a fan of Shania, casual or not, I highly suggest you pick this one up. The new songs are just amazing, and every Shania classic, country music over the last decade, is on this album...

I said this in the Music News thread on the "Greatest Hits" album but I might as well say it here too. I already got my "GH" cd. I got it at Target for just $ 9.98. Sitting next to it on the shelves was Shania's "Up! Close & Personal" DVD. It was only $ 11.98. So I bought the DVD too. A "Greatest Hits" cd and a new DVD for just $ 22.00. Not bad. :)

I got this at Target today. I really like "Don't". By far the best of the new singles on the album.
The Mark McGrath version of "party" is so cheesy. Why bother making this? I also don't like that the pop versions of "That Don't Impress Me Much" and "I'm Gonna Get You Good" are on here. Again, the country versions would have been better on here.
Overall its still a good collection to own.

I love both Don't and I Aint No Quitter. Both songs are about a girl's love for her man and she won't give up yet on the relationship. Don't is a haunting ballad that is a surprise from Shania in it's lyrics and melody. I Aint No Quitter is an uptemp country swing song that has to be the most country sounding song by Shania since Any Man of Mine of her TWIM days. I agree that IANQ would do well on country radio. Don't could do well on radio too. :)

Here are some of the comments Shania made on the CMT Countdown special. 1) Shania does plan on doing an acoustic album in the future. 2) Shania did say she would put out a LIVE album in the future but she did not seem that enthusiastic about the idea. She was apparently much more enthusiastic about the idea of doing an acoustic album. 3) Shooting "The Woman In Me" video in Cairo, Egypt was Luke Lewis' idea. (Luke is the head of Mercury records.) 4) The people in the bar in the "Whose Bed Have Your Boots Been Under?" video were real people; not actors. 5) She did learn to dance for the "Don't Be Stupid" video but she apparently wasn't very good. She said that it's amazing what editing can do. ;) 6) She edits all of her videos. She's involved in every part of the video - from concept to final product. 7) She says she's not competitive. Only competes with herself. When it's not fun anymore, she'll quit. 8) Shania would like to do a "Crossroads" episode with PINK. Shania thinks Pink is fun and rocks. 9) "Let It Be Me" by the Everly Brothers was the song played at Shania & Mutt's wedding in 1993. Shania's mother loved the Everly Brothers. Mutt picked the song. She talked more about all of the Videos and she also answered questions about her favorite movie, her pet peeve about guys, what book(s) she's reading now, whether she'll put out a clothing line (like P. Diddy and others)....and other questions. You can read the rest here... lounge.teamshania.com/showthread.php?t=5553

Setting More Records
With Shania's 3rd week sales in excess of 390k, this sets yet another record for the Country Queen. Her "Greatest Hits" first week sales were enough to secure the highest-debuting country greatest hits title. Her second week sales gave her "best second week sales by a country greatest hits" and now, she has claimed Best 3rd Week Sales By A Country Greatest Hits The album, which shipped double-platinum, has now sold over 1 million copies in the United States alone. The "Hits" album will spend a 3rd week atop Billboard's Country Album chart and will rise 2 on the Billboard 200 Pop/All-Genre Album chart.

'Don't' is arguably her best song to date; I heard it for the first time when she spent two hours on the air with Blair Garner on his 'After Midnite' show the night/morning of the CMA's. He played LOTS of her hits for those two hours, and 'Don't' was an absolutely stunning song.
I hope it's the next single; I'd love to see it get released in January so that it can make a run at winding up in 2005's top 10 or 20 singles of the year.

According to some google site a video was already shot in Mexico for the song. But the fact, that it's part of the soundstrack of "An Unfinished Life", which was supposed to be in the theaters late december and was pushed back to next year somewhere, maybe will effect the release of it. Or not, no official news about.
But PF2 is still going - slowly, but still there. And I never undestand why, but there is a gap always between Shania's singles.
