It looks like the beginning of a long run at #1 for Blurred Lines. It's seeming more and more that this will be a stagnant summer for music. Last year was so much better. ??? We only had two #1 hits last summer: Carly & Gotye. Oh, and I think "Whistle." Wasn't the top ten very slow-moving and uneventful for much of the summer last year?
"Blurred Lines" is my favorite #1 since "Can't Hold Us." Anyway, this is very exciting! The streaming gain is what did pushed it over the edge to be #1. Without it randomly shooting up in streaming, it likely would've had to settle in the 2-4 region for another week. Oh, and fantastic news that Miley debuted on the streaming chart already! And so high too! Just off of a YouTube video of nothing but the audio and single cover! So it debuted at #11, it's more than likely moving up into the top ten later.

I'm glad Robin is #1, such an awesome song. I also love that it's concurrently #1 in the US, UK and Australia as that doesn't happen often! It looks like the beginning of a long run at #1 for Blurred Lines. It's seeming more and more that this will be a stagnant summer for music. Last year was so much better. I found last summer quite average, personally (in terms of US radio hits). I'm really loving this summer's hits so far!

I'm sure the media and H8rs will talk about Miley "failing to hit the Top 10" with her edgy single/look. They will attribute it to backlash, etc.

Unless some weird s**t happens OR Katy Perry/Lady Gaga/Britney Spears release a lead single, "Blurred Lines" is here to stay at #1 for a loooooong time, and I wanted "Get Lucky" to get a week at the top. :'( I'm thinking maybe 8 weeks at No. 1 for Blurred Lines ; then maybe Treasure for about 1-2 weeks. Then maybe Lady Gaga if she does release in August as the rumors have said.

Chart Watch, Week Ending June 9, 2013. Songs: Pretty Fly For A White Guy~~ updated with positions below the Top 10 ~~“Blurred Lines” by Robin Thicke featuring T.I. and Pharrell jumps from #6 to #1 in its eighth week. It’s Thicke’s first #1; T.I.’s fourth; Pharrell’s third. The sexy, slinky track sold 315K digital copies this week. That’s the greatest one-week tally since Bruno Mars’ “When I Was Your Man” sold 340K in April. Sales of “Blurred Lines” shot up by 38% this week, so it will probably see even bigger weeks ahead. The song tops the 1 million mark in digital sales this week. It’s Thicke’s first million-seller. “Lost Without U” is up to 946K. “Blurred Lines” also jumps to #1 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs. It’s Thicke’s third #1 on this chart, following 2007’s “Lost Without U” and 2010’s “Sex Therapy.” It’s the fourth #1 on this chart for both T.I. and Pharrell. “Blurred Lines” ends Macklemore & Ryan Lewis’ 21-week lock on the #1 spot on this chart. (“Thrift Shop,” featuring Wanz, headed the chart for 14 weeks, followed immediately by “Can’t Hold Us,” featuring Ray Dalton, which stayed on top for seven weeks.) Thus, this is the 22nd consecutive week that a white artist has been the lead artist on the #1 hit on this chart (though the featured artists in all three cases are African American.) “Blurred Lines” is reminiscent of Marvin Gaye’s 1977 smash “Got To Give It Up (Pt. 1),” which also topped both the pop and R&B charts. (That was the year Thicke was born.) “Blurred Lines” also holds at #1 in the U.K. for the second week. It’s the first song to reach #1 in both countries since “Thrift Shop.” Finally, by hitting #1 on the Hot 100, Thicke surpasses his mom, Gloria Loring, who peaked at #2 in the fall of 1986 with her highest-charting hit, “Friends And Lovers,” a collabo with Carl Anderson. The song got “stuck” at #2 for two weeks behind Huey Lewis & the News’ “Stuck With You.” Macklemore & Ryan Lewis may soon have three songs in the top 40. “Can’t Hold Us” dips from #1 to #2, “Thrift Shop” drops from #14 to #17 and “Same Love” (featuring Mary Lambert) jumps from #65 to #51 in its 13th week. Pharrell Williams is featured on two of this week’s top three songs. In addition to “Blurred Lines,” he’s also featured on Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky,” which holds at #3 for the second week. What’s more, Williams co-wrote both songs and also produced “Blurred Lines.” “Get Lucky” is #1 on Dance/Electronic Songs for the fourth week. The song tops the 1 million mark in digital sales this week. It’s Daft Punk’s second million-seller. “One More Time” is up to 1,047,000. “Cruise” by Florida Georgia Line featuring Nelly holds at #5 for the third week. The song spends its 15th week at #1 on Hot Country Songs. That’s the longest run at #1 since Buck Owens’ “Love’s Gonna Live Here” spent 16 weeks on top from October 1963 through February 1964. It’s the longest run at #1 by an ongoing duo since “Slipping Around” by Margaret Whiting & Jimmy Wakely logged 17 weeks on top in 1949-1950. “Cruise” tops the 4 million mark in digital sales this week. It’s just the fifth country song in digital history to top the 4 million mark. It’s the first by a duo. (Taylor Swift has two of the other four. Lady Antebellum and The Band Perry each have one.) Florida Georgia Line is also vying to debut on the Hot 100 this week with “Round Here.” Imagine Dragons’ “Radioactive” jumps from #8 to #6 in its 41st week, which is its highest ranking to date. The song is #1 on Hot Rock Songs for the 12th week. The song tops the 3 million mark in digital sales this week. It’s the group’s first 3-million-seller. “It’s Time” has sold 2,507,000. Selena Gomez’s “Come & Get It” dips from #7 to #8. Gomez also debuts at #70 with her follow-up, “Slow Down.” “The Way” by Ariana Grande featuring Mac Miller rebounds from #12 to #9. This is its highest ranking to date, surpassing its #10 debut position. The song tops the 1 million mark in digital sales this week. Here's the low-down on this week's top 10 songs: The Top Five: “Blurred Lines” by Robin Thicke featuring T.I. and Pharrell Williams jumps from #6 to #1 in its eighth week on the chart. This is its second week in the top 10. Digital sales rank: #1 (315K)…“Can’t Hold Us” by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis feat. Ray Dalton dips from #1 to #2 in its 18th week on the chart. This is its 10th week in the top 10. Digital sales rank: #6 (174K)…“Get Lucky” by Daft Punk featuring Pharrell Williams holds at #3 for the second week in its eighth week on the chart. This is its fourth week in the top 10. Digital sales rank: #4 (193K)…Justin Timberlake’s “Mirrors” drops from #2 to #4 in its 17th week on the chart. This is its ninth week in the top 10. Digital sales rank: #12 (123K)…“Cruise” by Florida Georgia Line featuring Nelly holds at #5 for the third week in its 36th week on the chart. This is its seventh week in the top 10. Digital sales rank: #2 (225K). The Second Five: Imagine Dragons’ “Radioactive” rebounds from #8 to #6 in its 41st week on the chart. This is its eighth week in the top 10. Digital sales rank: #5 (192K)…“Just Give Me A Reason” by P!nk featuring Nate Ruess drops from #4 to #7 in its 17th week on the chart. This is its 13th week in the top 10. Digital sales rank: #8 (132K)…Selena Gomez’s “Come & Get It” dips from #7 to #8 in its ninth week on the chart. This is its fifth week in the top 10. Digital sales rank: #7 (154K)…“The Way” by Ariana Grande featuring Mac Miller rebounds from #12 to #9 in its 11th week. This is its second week in the top 10. Digital sales rank: #14 (111K)…“I Love It” by Icona Pop featuring Charli XCX dips from #9 to #10 in its 19th week on the chart. This is its seventh week in the top 10. Digital sales rank: #14 (111K). “Stay” by Rihanna featuring Mikky Ekko drops from #10 to #12, ending a 16-week run in the top 10. Miley Cyrus’ “We Can’t Stop” is the top new entry on the Hot 100 at #11. The feisty song is something of a comeback hit for Cyrus. It’s her first Hot 100 hit as a lead artist since “Can’t Be Tamed” three years ago. The song has a defiant lyric and attitude that is especially believable coming from someone who grew up in the public eye; whose choices were constantly subject to scrutiny. “We Can’t Stop” enters Hot Digital Songs at #3 with sales of 214K copies. It’s Cyrus’ highest rank and sales sum since “Party In The U.S.A.” led the digital sales chart for six weeks in 2009, when her career was at its peak. Cyrus’ featured roles on other artists’ work turned some heads and may have paved the way for her re-entry. She was featured on will.i.am’s “Fall Down” (which reached #58 on the Hot 100). She has also been featured on recordings by such artists as Timbaland, Bret Michaels (of Poison fame) and Snoop Lion. Cyrus first hit the Hot 100 (as Hannah Montana) in August 2006. She first charted under her own name in July 2007 with “G.N.O. (Girls Night Out).” She first cracked the top 10 in May 2008 with “See You Again.” She first cracked the top five in May 2009 with “The Climb.” Here are Cyrus’ five best-selling songs, in descending order: “Party In The U.S.A.” (5,209,000), “The Climb” (3,631,000), “See You Again” (2,447,000), “7 Things” (1,686,000) and “When I Look At You” (1,319,000). “Boys ’Round Here” by Blake Shelton featuring Pistol Annies & Friends holds at #13 for the second week in its 11th week. The song tops the 1 million mark in digital sales this week. It’s Shelton’s fifth million-seller. His others are “Honey Bee” (2,310,000), “God Gave Me You” (2,153,000), “Sure Be Cool If You Did” (1,281,000) and “Who Are You When I’m Not Looking” (1,098,000). “#Beautiful” by Mariah Carey featuring Miguel jumps from #17 to #15 in its fifth week. This is Miguel’s highest ranking to date….Bruno Mars’ “Treasure” leaps from #25 to #16 in its fourth week. Mars’ shutout from the top 10, now in its second week, won’t last much longer...“Bad” by Wale featuring Tiara Thomas jumps from #32 to #21 in its 17th week. It’s on the verge of becoming Wale’s second top 20 hit. He was featured on Waka Flocka Flame’s “No Hands,” which reached #13 in 2010. Anna Kendrick’s “Cups (Pitch Perfect’s When I’m Gone)” jumps from #27 to #22 in its 24th week...“Clarity” by Zedd featuring Foxes jumps from #29 to #24 in its 12th week…Luke Bryan’s “Crash My Party” jumps from #31 to #27 in its ninth week. The song has already climbed as high as #18…Hunter Hayes’ “I Want Crazy” jumps from #48 to #36 in its ninth week. Cassadee Pope’s “Wasting All These Tears” is the week’s second highest new entry at #37. Digital sales rank: #10 (125K). Pope was the Season 3 winner on The Voice. A song by a Season 4 contestant also debuts this week. Michelle Chamuel’s version of Taylor Swift’s “I Knew You Were Trouble” opens at #85. “I Need Your Love” by Calvin Harris featuring Ellie Goulding jumps from #42 to #38 in its eighth week…Carrie Underwood’s “See You Again” jumps from #76 to #62 in its sixth week…Capital Cities’ “Safe And Sound” jumps from #74 to #65 in its sixth week…Keith Urban’s “Little Bit Of Everything” jumps from #91 to #79 in its third week...Tyler Farr’s “Redneck Crazy” jumps from #95 to #87 in its second week…Justin Moore’s “Point At You” jumps from #97 to #89 in its second week…“Everything Has Changed” by Taylor Swift featuring Ed Sheeran re-enters the chart at #91. The song, from Red, has climbed as high as #67. The Neighbourhood’s “Sweater Weather” debuts at #98. It’s the week’s fifth-highest new entry and the only one that isn’t by a female solo artist. The Neighbourhood is a California-based alternative band. This song is from its debut album, I Love You….A$AP Ferg’s “Work” re-enters the chart at #100, where it debuted two weeks ago. M83’s “Midnight City” tops the 1 million mark in digital sales this week. Source

Cool to see M83's "Midnight City" top the million mark. I wonder how much Daft Punk's "One More Time" has sold physically in the U.S. Edit, found it: 781,000 copies.

that means next week is when MJ hits #1 for a 5th time from the same album, tying Katy's record.

So happy for Miley. 11 is super impressive for a 3 year break! Hopefully eventually it will hit the top 10

^Not until these older songs fall out of the top 10. And Treasure will jump over it next week.

I actually expected it to fall this week, cuz sales haven't been that great. But that probably means she gained a lot on streaming.
this coming week sales have basically been the same, and airplay has been the same too. So it will come down to how much she gains on streaming in order to gain higher than #15. (granted nothing older falls below her)

^How is that so when digital sales increased this week with 96,000? It's sales have been consistent over the past few weeks.
