Zebra's Top 100 - May 17, 2015 - Week 103, Week 21 (Repost)
Commentary: No video but I provided a listen link! Oh, and my countdown should resume tomorrow. :) Billie holds down the top two for a 2nd week, but this time "Black & White" comes out on top as it advances 2-1. This allows Billie to snag yet another record as no other artist has ever replaced themselves at the top. Black's previous leader "I Don't Need Another Lover" slips 1-2. "Lean On" looks to end Billie's reign as it jumps 6-3. "Better Than You Left Me" inches 5-4 while "Can't Deny My Love" slides 3-5 and "Girl Crush" tumbles 4-7. In between Flowers and Little Big Town, "Bitch Better Have My Money" advances 11-6. This is Rihanna's 2nd top ten from R8. "American Oxygen" looks to be her third. "Pretty Girls" vaults 19-8. It outpeaks "Work Bitch" but Britney has previously charted higher with "Circus", "If U Seek Amy", "3", "Hold It Against Me", "Till The World Ends", and "I Wanna Go". "Biscuits" inches 10-9. Madonna scores her 2nd top ten hit as "Ghosttown" moves 20-10. It matches the peak of "Celebration". Seven songs debut this week. Maroon 5 scores the highest debut as "This Summer's Gonna Hurt" enters at no. 34. Look for it to smash in the coming weeks. Little Boots scores the 2nd highest as "Better In The Morning" enters at no. 84. "All Day" debuts at no. 89, "Everything Is Easy" at no. 98, "Nasty Freestyle" at no. 99, and "Invincible" at no. 100. The Billie Black slayage continues! Riri and "Pretty Girls" go top 10 yay!
I'm bouncing off the walls at the nice jump that Karen Harding & Jess Glynne took!
Sad to see "Believe" fall already though. Also, "What Kind of Man" is really starting to tumble.
Hoping that "Peaches" and "Dead Inside" pick up the pace. Great to see "Invincible" debut - pretty sure that will debut well for me soon. Goodbye "My Type" :'(
Please get these to debut: "All Cried Out", "Ship To Wreck" (maybe return? Thought this debut already)
Great chart as always!

Zebra's Top Songs Of The First 100 Weeks: 120-101 It's about time that I stop being lazy and complete this! Enjoy! :) 120. "Slow Down" - Selena Gomez (2013): "Slow Down" is my 2nd favorite Selena song, only ranking below a song that'll appear later in this countdown. I thought about including "Come & Get It" also, but it peaked before this timeframe. It'll have its chance to shine in my all time list though! Anyways, this may border on generic but I absolutely love it. It's catchy, it's fun, and it's definitely typical Selena material (totally fine with me!). It peaked at no. 9 but should've charted a bit higher. 119. "Same Love" - Macklemore & Ryan Lewis ft. Mary Lambert (2013): It may be my least favorite of their 4 hits, but "Same Love" is still great. It has a message that is so true and that needed/needs to be heard. The video is really cute. Unfortunately at the time I never charted this because of competition. 118. "All The Way Home" - Tamar Braxton (2013): Love love love Tamar. After "Love And War" and "The One" became top three hits I was eagerly anticipating her follow-up, and I wasn't disappointed. Her vocals on "All The Way Home" are killer. This peaked at no. 10 but had really great longevity. 117. "5 AM" - Katy B (2014): I've loved Katy ever since "Katy On A Mission", but it wasn't until "Crying For No Reason" that I really began to check out her material more than just her singles and I only grew to love her more. "5 AM" raced onto the chart on the heels of Reason's success but stopped at no. 17. It grew on me with age, though, and I love everything about it. If I had to highlight the main reason as to why I love this, though, it would probably have to be the production. It never fails to make me want to dance. 116. "Instant Crush" - Daft Punk ft. Julian Casablancas (2013/4): Random Access Memories seemed to get a lot of hype and praise from everyone but I just didn't get it. Sure, it was good, but I didn't understand what made it so darn special. This, "Lose Yourself To Dance", and "Doin' It Right" are definitely the highlights off of it for me and help to make a good case for why the album was so hyped. "Instant Crush" ended up becoming the most successful and most enduring successful single from the album, though, as it peaked at no. 12 and has only gotten better with age. It certainly ranks among Daft Punk's best. I love Casablancas's vocals. 115. "Lies" - CHVRCHES (2013/4): I was really late to CHVRCHES, but Ry4n's rampant stanning for them prompted me to check out their singles and I've loved them all. The highlight for me though was definitely "Lies". I really love the production on this. I've known about this since mid 2014 but I never charted it until December or so and I'm not quite sure why. Whatever, better late than never and it was inevitably going to end up with a peak that I would regret. I still need to listen to their album to be honest. 114. "Shots" - Imagine Dragons (2015): Ugh I was so obsessed with them in 2013, lol. Night Visions was my favorite album ever at that time and all of the singles were massive hits on my chart. I was let down by "I Bet My Life", though, and I guess that I was just sick of them in general for a while? Idk but "Demons" really grated on me after a while and killed all of my interest in their new project. The fact that "Life" even made the top 20 was definitely an accomplishment. "Shots" has helped me to be a tad more interested in their latest project (still need to check it out tbh!), so that's definitely to its credit. I love love love the chorus to this one. It's so catchy and I can't help but sing along. It peaked at no. 3 earlier this year. 113. "Addicted To You" - Avicii (2014): Speaking of artists that I was/am sick of, here we have Avicii. I initially liked "Wake Me Up" but sometime after the 25th time I heard it I began to loathe it. The radio played this one out for me and to this day I still can't stand it. It's probably my least favorite hit single of the decade so far, and in a decade that also has "Rude", "Happy", "All About That Bass", Katy Perry, and "Give Me Everything" that's definitely an accomplishment. Anyways, I actually really enjoyed "Hey Brother" and I really enjoy this. I love Audra Mae's vocals. At one point this had the largest jump in my chart history as it vaulted 73-2 in early 2014 (and thus bested "Do What U Want"'s now unofficial 71-1 jump), but since Billie Black is now snatching weaves, records, and everything in between it no longer holds that honor. Still, I'm not sick of this and this was definitely a welcome follow-up to the already great "Hey Brother". 112. "The Phoenix" - Fall Out Boy (2013): My favorite Fall Out Boy single period. I really love the chorus of this one. It's infectiously catchy and never fails to put me in a good mood. It peaked in the top ten slightly before I began posting my chart on Pulse but had enough longevity to warrant its inclusion on this list. Oh and I love the intro to this. 111. "I Wanna Get Better" - Bleachers (2014): I loved fun. but I think I slightly prefer Bleachers. "Rollercoaster" was the first exposure that I really had to them and it made me a fan. "I Wanna Get Better" charted in the midst of the aforementioned's run and managed to peak at no. 8. I really love the chorus (that seems to be a recurring theme with this batch, oops) and after hearing this I went and bought the album and loved everything on it bar the Yoko Ono collab. 110. "Still Into You" - Paramore (2013): Paramore was never a band that I felt compelled to listen to until this. "Still Into You" has a delightfully catchy chorus and such a fun production. Everything about it is enjoyable and it hasn't aged one bit. I've jammed out loud to this far too many times, haha. Unfortunately it only peaked at no. 20 in one of the most competitive periods of 2013. I still prefer "Ain't It Fun" to this though. 109. "Come With Me Now" - KONGOS (2014): The accordion really sells this but I also enjoy how shouty the chorus is. It was an instant fave and managed to get lucky and sneak in a week at no. 1 in a period when each and every no. 1 was huge. It's fun, but I don't enjoy it near as much as I used to. 108. "Rather Be" - Clean Bandit ft. Jess Glynne (2014): I hate to rank this so low, but there's too many songs that I feel more strongly for left and I never really appreciated it until long after its no. 33 peak. Glynne's vocals are amazing and Clean Bandit's production definitely go well with them. It was one of my favorite hits of the year, though, and should've been so much bigger (everywhere). 107. "I Really Like You" - Carly Rae Jepsen (2015): I'll spare you from another overdone 'really*6' joke/reference, but I do really enjoy this song. It has one of the most infectious choruses I've ever heard and it is perfect for the spring. It ended up peaking at no. 1 for 2 weeks (outpeaking "Call Me Maybe") and prompting me to revisit Kiss (what kind of pop perfection though?!?) and to enjoy that album yet again. It's burned on me for the moment though. 106. "Hideaway" - Kiesza (2014): Initially I hated this, but it quickly grew on me and even went all of the way to no. 1! Kiesza's vocals are the real selling point here. I'm still not fond of the "oohs" and "aahs", but I love the thudding production. This was perfect for the summer and fit my 2014 tastes quite well. I ranked this too low on my 2014 year end countdown, so I guess this is justice. 105. "Prayer In C (Robin Schulz Mix)" - Lilly Wood & the Prick (2014): Speaking of songs that are perfect for the summer, here we have "Prayer In C". Robin Schulz turned a rather dull track into magic. I love love love the production on this. It perfectly complements Lilly's vocals. It peaked at no. 5 in late summer/early fall. 104. "Southern Sun" - Boy & Bear (2013): Props to Landmarx for helping me discover this! It's perfect in every way and quite a relaxing listen. I unfortunately didn't discover it until it was far too late to chart it, but it certainly deserves to rank among 2013's very best. I find that the chorus gets stuck in my head at quite random times but that only causes me to revisit it and to thus remind me of how much I love this. 103. "#Beautiful" - Mariah Carey ft. Miguel (2013): This only ranks this low due to the fact that it peaked slightly before I started posting my chart here and thus had a rather short chart life. It's literally perfect. Not only is it one of the best songs that Mariah has released this century but it easily ranks among Mariah's best songs period. That's no small feat for an artist who has a rich catalogue full of classics. The fact that this was released 23 years after she debuted is proof that veteran artists can still make magic (and shouldn't be dismissed for being old). It should've been a much larger hit (along with "You Don't Know What To Do"), but the fact that it even peaked at no. 15 was good enough for me. Her vocals are excellent as per usual and Miguel makes for a great companion. This has an atmosphere that was perfect for summer. This only gets better with age, and I love it far more now than I did then. 102. "Little Toy Guns" - Carrie Underwood (2015): Carrie's story songs are easily her best. "Blown Away" and "Two Black Cadillacs" were both no. 1 hits. "Little Toy Guns" may not have peaked as high (it made it to no. 4 earlier this year), but that doesn't mean that it's any less fantastic. The lyrics paint a picture of a child's sadness and longing for words to not hurt as much as they do because her parents are fighting. It's definitely easy to relate to and Carrie sings the hell out of it. The video fits the song perfectly and Carrie looks gorgeous as per usual. Oh, and "Something In The Water" deserved much better than a mid-40s peak. Shame that I didn't appreciate it then as much as I do now. She has one more entry! 101. "Drunk In Love" - Beyoncé ft. Jay-Z (2013/4): I had a hard time figuring out when I should eliminate this, so I guess now is better than later. Don't worry, though - Bey still has 4 more entries! Anyways, this was the least instant single off of the album for me. It was overshadowed by "XO" on my chart at the time (as evidenced by the fact that "XO" was already no. 1 by the time this debuted) and I just couldn't get into it. It grew on me big time, though, and it eventually peaked at no. 6 and thus became her 2nd top ten hit from the album (she's had like 5 since). The lyrics definitely have their iconic moments (I'm looking at you, 'surfboardt') and they make this such a fun listen. It's so fun to sing along to and it became a party anthem for my friends and I. Jay's part is whatever but let's be real I'm listening for Bey anyways. It's middle of the road as far as my favorite moments from Beyoncé go, but it definitely deserves some credit for helping to fuel her momentum on my chart and for becoming such a sleeper hit. Oh and I Looking back it absolutely should've been at least a top two hit.

- Woah, Billie just keeps re-writing Zeboard history! Now that I've heard two of her songs, her stuff definitely isn't the type of material that would slay me on first listen the way it has with you (there's no infectious hook), but it's definitely very cool, and...atmospheric, this type of...mellow, trance-y R&B (which is what made me think of "The Worst.") - In more mainstream music news, looks like BBHMM ended up leap-frogging "Biscuits", so I'm glad to see both sitting inside your Top 10 now. - Speaking of your Top 10, I'm also lovin' that jump for "Ghosttown." Thanks for responding about the MDNA peaks. GMAYL was probably...definitely my favorite of those singles too, but TUTR wouldn't be TOO far behind. GGW always seemed really weak to me. Funny that "Celebration", which I'd also consider to be one of her all-time-weakest singles, is her only other Top 10 to date. - Ah, I just noticed that you've been charting "Overload" for a while now! I just got into it a week or so ago after seeing it at No. 1 on Surf's chart. - While I was initially really unimpressed with TSGHLAM, and I still don't hear anything particularly special about it, I keep finding the "f*ckaa, f*ckaa" part stuck in my head. Are you playing the edited version, or did you just edit the title here for Pulse sake? - Lovely to see "Fight Song" + "Infinity" both earn new peaks inside your Top 50. Go, go, go!
Another glorious chart, Zebstin! :)

I know that double-posting is a Pulse faux-pas, but I figured it'd be clearer if I separated my weekly chart commentary from my anniversary chart commentary.
"Slow Down" = I ended up liking this more than C&GI, but I still think she made much better stuff with The Scene. "Naturally", "Who Says", "Love You Like A Love Song" (and several WTSGD album tracks, for that matter) >>>>>>
"Same Love" = This one makes me too emotional to listen too often, but I still give them big props for releasing it.
"Shots" = I just checked this out for the first time a week or so ago after seeing it atop Daniel Collins's chart, and it's definitely more up my alley than IBML.
"Still Into You" = "Ain't It Fun" is good too, but this is easily the better of the two. I'm still kind of shocked that they released something so shamelessly poppy (granted, not that I'm THAT familiar with their catalog), but I'm very glad they did! This was a Paulboard No. 1 hit.
"Rather Be" = Great stuff, and I totally agree about it being bigger (especially here in the US, though I'm glad it at least cracked the Top 10, since we completely snub brilliant UK hits much too often.)
"I Really Like You" = Aw, this is a very pleasant surprise! I guess I shouldn't be TOO shocked, considering how well it's done on your chart over the past couple months. YAAASSS @ you stanning for Kiss!
"#Beautiful" = I love...pretty much everything about your write-up for this gem. You've done Mariah justice, sir! After "Triumphant" and "Almost Home" had me really worried, this came as such a relief and showed that she can still create some really brilliant stuff (not that she has anything left to prove, of course of course.) It also exceeded my expectations chart-wise after those two mega-flops I just mentioned. It's easily her best song this decade (though I do love "Oh Santa!", it's a bit tricky to compare holiday-specific stuff to regular material), and probably my favorite single from her since...WBT? Maybe since SS, since I really have a soft spot for that flop.
"Little Toy Guns" = I'm actually not a HUGE fan of this one, but I'm glad to see you repent for not showing SITW proper appreciation! That could qualify as a story song too, no? She's retelling her experience with the preacher in order to inspire/save us, the listener. I still can't believe how much I love that one, considering its very explicit religious themes/message.
"Drunk In Love" = Hmmm...not too much to say about this one. I definitely liked it when it was her current single (it reached No. 2 on my chart, made my Top 50 of 2014), but I haven't played it much since. It's certainly very quotable, and I don't think I'll ever forget the image of her bouncing boobies on the beach.
Thanks for all this nostalgia, Zebstin! :)

Thanks everyone! <3 I'll respond to countdown feedback later. The fact that Mickey has racked up 18 weeks is having me think the end is near but a #4 peak would be fantastic if that's ultimately her peak position. I still want #1 though, lol. Stellar chart Zeebz. You really do a terrific job with it. :) It may be near its end, but it'll have great longevity. Who knows, it could rebound though! Thanks a lot Sabre! That means a lot. :) Mickey Guyton is having an incredible run on your chart. I'm so happy. I also love the bottom half of that Top 10, especially Britney, Madonna, and Kacey. <333 Glad to see positive chart action for "American Oxygen," "Sparks," "Yoga," "Double Tap," "Hey Mama," "Diamond Rings and Old Barstools," "For a Boy," "Tom's Diner," "My Mistake," and "Country." Your chart continues to be fantastic. And don't think I don't see "Leave the Pieces" in that recurrent list!! :o Yesssss it's so good. I figured that you'd enjoy it this week, haha. Most of those keep rising! Thanks boo. "Leave The Pieces" is fantastic. Great debut for Third Eye Blind and Maroon 5. Also great flashback songs. Glad you like those! Thanks! :) That recurrents list! (Specifically "Closing Time," "Do You...," and "We Take Care of Our Own" - glad I'm not the only one who loves that song!) Awesome chart Zebra! I actually just discovered "We Take Care Of Our Own" but I love it. I just love Springsteen in general. Thanks Trusty! <3 Biscuits and Madonna in the top ten. And Lean On. The Rhythm is just waiting to get in there. It's all so beautiful. :'( Glad you like those! Thanks Popstop! <3 <3 <3 Lean On and Pretty Girls continues to climb as well as Hey Mama and YKYLI. Great chart! Thanks! :) The Billie Black slayage continues!
Billie Black continues to slay, both of those remain top ten, and I think you'll enjoy the jumps that Karen and Jess make. ;) They should pick up the pace soon! My chart has been crazy busy lately lol. "Ship To Wreck" came really close to debuting, but now it's official! Thanks Albie! <3 - Woah, Billie just keeps re-writing Zeboard history! :) Re: Billie - She really does! I agree with your comments about the atmospheric nature of her work, but for some reason all of the songs on her EP were instant favorites. Re: Rihsus - She remains, but "Biscuits" is (temporarily) kicked out. Re: Madonna - If my chart had a further history or if I allowed recurrents to chart she'd have a ton of top tens and even number ones, haha. "Celebration" is definitely at the bottom end of the Madonna spectrum, but 2009-me was obsessed and was willing to chart anything Madonna haha. "Revolver" even made the top 30 and we all know that one is bleak. I'd actually consider "Give Me All Your Luvin"/"Girl Gone Wild" her worst singles, though. Definitely a low-point in her career that I'm glad has passed. Re: "Overload" - It's fantastic! Re: Maroon 5 - The "fuckaaa" part is my favorite, haha. I'm listening to the uncensored version (I prefer to listen to original versions in most cases, so explicitness doesn't bother me) but I edited the title for 3 reasons: 1) It was the original title that I heard of; 2) the actual title is clunky and too extra; and 3) I don't want "motherf**ker" to be censored, haha. Thanks Paul! <3

Commentary: Billie holds down the top two for the 3rd week in a row. The entire top three is stagnant this week and I can't remember when that last happened. Lol. "Pretty Girls" jumps 8-4, thus pushing "Better Than You Left Me" from 4-5. "Bitch Better Have My Money" holds at no. 6 while "Can't Deny My Love" slides 5-7. Karen Harding's lengthy run finally pays off as it jumps 14-8. "Coffee" blasts from 35-9, thus becoming the first top ten hit for both artists. Miguel previously has peaked as high as no. 11 with "Adorn" while Wale peaked at no. 12 with "Bad". MNEK inches 11-10 with "The Rhythm". Ten songs debut this week. Little Mix scores the highest debut with "Black Magic" at no. 29. Ella Eyre scores the 2nd highest debut at no. 48 with "Together". "Not Letting Go" enters at no. 59, "Walk" debuts at no 63, "Fire Under My Feet" debuts at no. 66, "OctaHate" debuts at no. 70, "Woman (Oh Mama)" debuts at no. 74, "Flashlight" debuts at no. 85, "Want You In Soul" debuts at no. 99, and "Ship To Wreck" debuts at no. 100. My anticipation for new Janet causes her to dominate the recurrents section. Unfortunate to see Mickey falling now but I guess there's a chance she could rebound next week; though that would be very unlikely because of how many weeks her song has been charting.
Great to see "Stay A Little Longer" climbing at a pretty good rate. :)

Zebra's Top Songs Of The First 100 Weeks: 100-81 On to the top 100! Thanks for all of the feedback! I'll likely respond to it later tonight. :) 100. "Mirrors" - Justin Timberlake (2013): "Mirrors" is one of the songs that brings back the most nostalgia for me. I fell in love with it in the spring of my Senior year and it was played at prom, around graduation, etc. Eventually, however, radio played this far too much and it ended up burning on me to the point to where I don't enjoy it half as much as I did back then. I believe I heard it on the radio 7 times in the span of 2 hours one day and I grew to loathe it. It only ranks this high due to the fact that it hit no. 1 before I began my chart and that it managed to have decent enough longevity to still be in the top ten at the beginning of this frame. 099. "Our Love" - Caribou (2014): I was late to discover this gem but nowadays it serves as a go-to listen when I want to chill out. The production is excellent. It's perfect for every mood. I don't have much to say about it, but the entire album is fantastic. 098 "The Heart Wants What It Wants" - Selena Gomez (2014): Quite possibly my favorite Selena song, I love the vocal maturity from her and I like that this was different from her typical dance fodder. She sounds emotionally distraught here and that really helps to sell the theme. "The Heart Wants What It Wants" debut at no. 1 and stayed there for 2 weeks. 097. "Of The Night" - Bastille (2014): While not as instant as "Pompeii", "Of The Night" still managed to become a large hit last spring. I really love the interpolation of both "Rhythm Is A Dancer" and "Rhythm Of The Night", and I also love how Dan Smith's vocals create a darker atmosphere that wasn't present in the original songs. The video only serves to make the song all the more eerie. "Pompeii" should've been a chart topper, but at least Bastille has this. 096. "Stompa" - Serena Ryder (2013): "Stompa" has one of the weirdest runs in my entire chart history. It originally peaked in the mid teens before I started posting my chart and then it quickly collapsed to the point of being on the verge of dropping off. It had a second wind, though, and managed to peak at no. 8 shortly after I began posting my chart here. I love Ryder's vocals, the stomping production, and the way the chorus sounds like a chant. I haven't listened to it much after it finally fell off for good, but it remains a delight each and every time I do listen to it. I need to get around to listening to that album, lol. 095. "I Got U" - Duke Dumont ft. Jax Jones (2014): The perfect summer song. I love Jax's vocals and the tropical sounding production. My favorite bit of the song is probably the clapping bit before the chorus early in the song. It makes the song so much more fun. "I Got U" always makes me want to dance and sing along, haha. It peaked at no. 3 and had decent longevity. 094. "The Way" - Ariana Grande ft. Mac Miller (2013): "The Way" is a shining moment in Ariana's career so far and it's a shame that it's been overshadowed by her recent era. that . It has such a bouncy, fun production and it always reminds me of the spring. Grande's vocals are reminiscent of old-school Mariah's and were a much needed breath of fresh air in 2013. I was enamored with it upon the first listen and it quickly raced to no. 2, being blocked by "Radioactive". This ranks so low due to the fact that it was peaking before this period began and because I haven't listened to it much since. 093. "Lifted Up (1985)" - Passion Pit (2015): I fell in love with Passion Pit when I discovered "Take A Walk". That quickly became a no. 1 hit in early 2013 but I never gave its follow-ups adequate peaks. I was determined to remedy that when their next album era came around, and they didn't disappoint. "Lifted Up" is a fun song with an explosive chorus that I always have to sing along with. It peaked at no. 3 earlier this year. 092. "Under Control" - Calvin Harris & Alesso ft. Hurts (2013): 18 Months was such a huge era for Calvin on my chart. He ended up scoring 4 number ones ("We Found Love", "Feel So Close", "I Need Your Love", "Sweet Nothing") and one number two ("Let's Go") hit/hits. I was eagerly awaiting his next era and he delivered rather quickly. I found out that "Under Control" was the follow-up and I was ecstatic. I love Hurts and I obviously love Calvin so the fact that they collaborated here is neat. It raced to no. 3 and had great longevity. Looking back it could've been stronger, but it's still great. 091. "Dance With Me Tonight" - Olly Murs (2013): It may be a rip-off of "Runaround Sue", but it's a darn good one (better than Meghan's at least!). I'm a sucker for retro sounding productions and thus I fell in love with this one quickly. It always puts me in a good mood. It's just so carefree. It peaked at no. 10, giving Olly his 2nd top ten hit after "Heart Skips A Beat" peaked at no. 1 over two years prior. 090. "Falling" - HAIM (2013/4): "The Wire" took a while to grow on me, but "Falling" was instant. I love the chorus especially, with the "I'm falling!" shouts in the background pleasantly contrasting with the sung portions. I also really enjoy the "don't stop, no, I'll never give up" parts. "Falling" peaked at number five in early 2014. 089. "White Noise" - Disclosure ft. AlunaGeorge (2013): In my opinion this is the best single off of Settle and that's not an easy feat. All of them were rather good but this definitely stands out. I love Aluna's vocals and the quirky production. It became one of the very first new hits of this time frame as it vaulted to no. 4. I remember that it was competing with "Attracting Flies" at the time and it peaked faster than "Flies". We'll see that "Attracting Flies" has fared better in the long run, though, as it is yet to come. 088. "Ain't It Fun" - Paramore (2014): Not far removed from "Still Into You", we have Paramore's biggest hit on my chart. It's infectiously catchy and the "don't go cryin' to your mama" parts were stuck in my head all summer. I love the drums and the gospel breakdown at the end. It became one of last summer's biggest hits as it peaked at no. 2. 087. "I Hold On" - Dierks Bentley (2013/4): I've never really been a big Dierks fan until Riser. I've loved all of the singles, and this is one of my favorites. I love the theme of holding on to the things that mean the most to you in life (in Dierks's case, memories, faith, etc). It's a simple song that only got better with age. It peaked at no. 10 in the fall, long after it left the country charts. 086. "Wrapped Up" - Olly Murs ft. Travie McCoy (2014/5): Olly again! Again I fell in love with this because it had a seemingly retro sound to it, albeit not as retro as "Dance With Me Tonight". I love Olly's vocals and the whole song is an explosion of fun. It peaked at no. 2 earlier this year and it peaked in the runner-up position in one of the most competitive weeks on record. 085. "Right Here" - Jess Glynne (2014): "Rather Be" may have wound up with a peak that was less than fitting, but Glynne managed to have a proper hit with "Right Here". Her vocals are fantastic and the production fit right into what I was enjoying in fall 2014. Those factors combined to send it no. 7, although it should've peaked higher. "Hold My Hand" is currently scaling the chart, so we'll see if it can peak higher. 084. "People Help The People" - Birdy (2012/3/4): I know that this is ancient, but I charted it because I saw that "Skinny Love" was going for adds and I realized that I never gave it or this a proper run back when they were current. Birdy's vocals are amazing and I just love the song period (I enjoy the Cherry Ghost version also, albeit not as much). It peaked at number five in early 2014, and looking back I'm questioning my logic for charting it. It remains a great song though! 083. "Fancy" - Iggy Azalea ft. Charli XCX (2014): Iggy may be one of the most annoying pop stars in recent memory, but this still knocks a bit. Charli's chorus serves as an effective hook and was the reason why I initially fell in love with this. I always found myself singing along to it and I even began to memorize the rap (I'm not proud, lol). Also that production! I can't deny that it's fun, though, and that it's perfect for summer. Oh, and having a Clueless themed video sealed the deal for this to become my longest lasting number one of 2014 (5 weeks, tied with "XO"). It hasn't held up as well as it could have, but it's entertaining to listen to every once in a while. This also earns the distinction of being my birthday number one last year. It's crazy to think that this was in the midst of its run a year ago. 082. "Don't Run" - Mr. Little Jeans (2014): Shoutout to Invince for having incredible taste and for recommending Mr. Little Jeans to me. "Oh Sailor" is a gorgeous song (still to come) but when I first checked out Pocketknife I wasn't hooked. Over time, however, "Don't Run" and "Good Mistake" grew on me and caused me to fully appreciate the album. "Don't Run" especially. Her vocals are enchanting as always and the production is soothing. It's the definition of a low-key jam and I gave it a peak that was far too low. 081. "FourFiveSeconds" - Rihanna, Kanye West, & Paul McCartney (2015): "FourFiveSeconds" may be one of the most divisive singles of the year (you either love it or hate it), but I fell in love with it quickly. It was quite a weird listen at first and definitely not what I expected from Rihanna, but over time I've come to appreciate it as a welcome change. I understand why it is so disliked, but I love most everything about it. The simplistic production is a refreshing change of pace not only from Rihanna but also from 2015's pop hits in general. It seemingly contrasts with the lyrics about 'wildin', but it works. I love Paul's guitar and Rihanna's raw vocals. The minimal production allows them to truly shine and they aren't too shabby. Kanye's vocals leave a little to be desired, but that's a minor complaint. "FourFiveSeconds" shows that Rihanna is beginning to evolve past the dance pop hits and shows that she is willing to experiment, both qualities that I appreciate. Oh, and I love the video and the follow-up singles. This single has definitely helped to highten my interest in R8 and I'm looking forward to this project more than I have any others from her. "FourFiveSeconds" peaked at number four earlier this year.

"Say Something" and "The Rhythm" both go top 10!! Actually, I really like your top 10 overall. "Lean On" looks like its heading right for the top! So happy to see "Desire" just chugging along. But why do you hate "King" I like how well "Don't Wanna Fight" has done. Its actually becoming one of my favorite from Alabama Shakes. "Bang That" is doing so well already! And yay for "Hold My Hand"! I hope the future holds a top 10 peak for Jess. Nice to see some of my other faves still inching up. Holy zebras that is ton of debuts - and a lot of good ones at that! "Ship To Wreck" debuts! Get after it Flo! Also great to see "Together", "OctaHate" and "Not Letting Go" debut. Jess is so freaking good on this one! RIP "Pray To God" but it did so well for you so I take solace in that - its crashing for me too now. I'm still hoping for "All Cried Out" to breakthrough. kingkingkingkingkingking

- Although I'm actually not a massive fan of "American Oxygen", it'd be cool if it could inch up at least one more spot and achieve Top 10 status like the other R8 teaser tracks. At least then she'd be on a hot streak somewhere... - Lovely to see "Sparks" inside your Top 20. I really wasn't feeling it much at first, but it whistled its way into my heart. - LOVING the Top 30 debut for "Black Magic." I've been obsessed with it since I first heard it on Friday. I've never been really slayed by a Little Mix song before, but this one is absolute pop perfection! - Glad to see "Fight Song" crack your Top 40. It's starting to wear off me a bit, but I still want to see it become a smash for her wherever it can. - I haven't followed Leona much since she ended up not releasing Glassheart Stateside, but I did give "Fire Under My Feet" a listen, and it's not bad. It'd be nice if it got her career back on track, but I won't hold my breath. - YYYYYAAAAASSSSS @ "OctaHate" finally debuting! What a wonderful surprise. It's easily one of my favorite songs of 2015 so far (I know it was released in 2014, but I didn't discover it until this year.) Any particular reason that it just clicked with you now?
Another stupendous chart, Zebstin! :)

Zebra's Top Songs Of The First 100 Weeks: 80-61 Here's the next set! Sorry for the tardiness/the lackluster comments, I've been rather busy lately. Thanks for following! <3 80. "My Type" - Saint Motel (2015): Infectious, fun, and instantly catchy, "My Type" never fails to put me in a good mood. The horns are definitely the highlight of the song for me, and they helped to propel "My Type" to number 4 earlier this year. 79. "Drunk On A Plane" - Dierks Bentley (2014): On first listen "Drunk On A Plane" may sound like your stereotypical country song about partying, but it goes further than that. Further listens reveal the narrator's heartbreak as his lover dumped him, leaving him with honeymoon tickets to Cancun. He tries to drown out the pain by drinking and thus forgetting. It's still a fun listen and was on repeat last fall. It peaked at no. 10. 78. "Global Concepts" - Robert DeLong (2013/4): I discovered "Global Concepts" due to various other member's personal charts/year end countdowns, but unfortunately I discovered it only in late 2014. I charted it anyways and it raced to number 14. I really love the the production after the line "did I make you fucking dance". DeLong's vocals are great too. 77. "Power Trip" - J. Cole ft. Miguel (2013): "Power Trip" may have fallen off of the chart before this time frame, but I was still obsessed with it all throughout 2013. I actually think I charted it in my bottom 50 for a while, lol. Miguel's vocals are great as usual and I really like J. Cole. 76. "Uptown Funk" - Mark Ronson ft. Bruno Mars (2014/5): I was obsessed with this earlier this year. I thought that it would've been a definite number 1 contender but it ended up peaking at number 2 due to heavy competition. This is super fun and easily one of Bruno's best, but at this point I'm sick of it and I wish it would just go away. Thankfully it's not at number one anymore! I still enjoy it at times though. 75. "Problem" - Ariana Grande ft. Iggy Azalea (2014): I prefer "The Way" but "Problem" was a slightly bigger hit during this period (no. 1) so it outranks the former. I enjoy the saxophone and Ariana's vocals, but I could do without Iggy's verse. 74. "Yung Rapunxel" - Azealia Banks (2013): I love Azealia. However, when I first heard this back in 2013 I wasn't too fond of it. It was okay but it never fully clicked with me so I never charted it. Broke With Expensive Taste came out and changed all of that. "Yung Rapunxel" ended up becoming one of the songs on the album that I would revisit the most. I love the production. It inevitably entered due to this resurgence and peaked in the lower teens iirc. 73. "Gooey" - Glass Animals (2014): "Gooey" is quite a strange listen but I really enjoy it. I especially enjoy how the production sounds like water dripping and the vocals are nice. "Gooey" peaked at number 5 and has absolutely no burn rate. 72. "Jubel" - Klingande (2013/4): The saxophone makes this such an enjoyable listen. I've loved it from the first moment that I heard it (thanks Lozzy!) and it hasn't burned on me since. It peaked at number 10. 71. "My Love" - Route 94 ft. Jess Glynne (2014): Glynne's vocals are among her best here and this was far more instant than "Rather Be" for me. Route 94's production is fun and complements her vocals well. It has quite an interesting video also. "My Love" peaked at number 2 in early summer. 70. "Come To Me" - Goo Goo Dolls (2014): "Come To Me" has a chorus that gets stuck in my head for days, haha. It's just a really pleasant listen and is another entry that always puts me in a good mood. I love the folky sound to this. "Come To Me" peaked at number 4 in early 2014. 69. "Nobody Love" - Tori Kelly (2015): I've seen reviews of this that describe it as sounding like a mixture of "Problem" and "These Words", and I have to agree with them. That's not a bad thing, though, as I love both of those. Tori serves killer vocals here and the production always makes me want to dance. This should've been a huge pop hit. Can't wait to listen to her other material! Oh yeah, and this peaked at number 1. 68. "Attracting Flies" - AlunaGeorge (2013): Quite possibly the most creative euphemism for bullshit that I've ever heard, haha. I love the production and the lyrics are amusing. This peaked at no. 4 in summer 2013. 67. "Rollercoaster" - Bleachers (2014): "Rollercoaster" was my first exposure to Bleachers and it made me fall in love with them immediately. It's effortlessly fun and is always a go-to listen when I'm in a good mood. It peaked at number 4 in late 2014. 66. "Safe And Sound" - Capital Cities (2013): Speaking of fun, here we have one of my favorite pop hits of 2013. I loved hearing it on the radio and it ended up peaking at number 8. I'm still not sick of it. 65. "See You Again" - Carrie Underwood (2013): Carrie's vocals here are wonderful and I love the lyrics. For some reason this only peaked in the lower 40s, and that's such a shame. It truly stands among the best in Carrie's discography. 64. "Changes" - Faul & Wad Ad vs. Pnau (2014): I love the children's choir here. They made this a standout among the dance hits of 2014. This peaked at number 1 for 3 weeks. I haven't listened to it much since, though. 63. "Shot At The Night" - The Killers (2013): It's such a shame that I never officially charted this because it's one of my favorite singles from the Killers. The chorus is insanely catchy. 62. "Haunted" - Beyoncé (2013/4): "Haunted" is one of the best on Bey's most recent album. Both portions of the song ("Ghost" and "Haunted") showcase Bey's vocals really well and Boots did a wonderful job with the productions. I can't really pinpoint a single thing that I love the most about this because I love everything about it. It peaked at number 3 in late 2014. 61. "I Need Your Love" - Calvin Harris ft. Ellie Goulding (2013): "I Need Your Love" actually peaked at number 1 in December 2012 as an album track but it fell off quickly. It re-entered as soon as I found out that it was the next single, however, and had enough longevity to rank here. I love Ellie's vocals.

Thanks everyone! <3 Lean On, Pretty Girls, Hey Mama, and YKYLI keep rising/doing well! Great chart as always! Glad you like those! Thanks! :) Black Magic OctaHate This Summer's Gonna Keep Rising Lean On I just realized how appropriate of a song title "Black & White" is for a Zebra. Glad you like those! And yeah, I guess it is appropriate lol. Thanks boo! <3 Unfortunate to see Mickey falling now but I guess there's a chance she could rebound next week; though that would be very unlikely because of how many weeks her song has been charting. Great to see "Stay A Little Longer" climbing at a pretty good rate. :) She didn't rebound, but I think she'll have a slow trip down. It'll climb faster soon! Thanks Sabre! <3 "Say Something" and "The Rhythm" both go top 10!! Actually, I really like your top 10 overall. "Lean On" looks like its heading right for the top! "Lean On" is indeed headed straight for the top. ;) I don't hate "King", I just wanted to give "Desire" a proper run first. I'll re-enter "King" later so it can truly shine. Agreed on Alabama Shakes. I think "Hold My Hand" will end up with a top ten peak. Glad you like those! oh, and soon! Thanks Albie! <3 - Although I'm actually not a massive fan of "American Oxygen", it'd be cool if it could inch up at least one more spot and achieve Top 10 status like the other R8 teaser tracks. Re: "OctaHate" - I heard it on the radio a good deal this week and that caused it to finally click. Thanks Paul! <3

Zebra's Top 100: Birthday Week Flashback! #late, but here's a run-through of all of my birthday weeks! :) May 31st, 2009 - 14th Birthday Kristinia DeBarge scores perhaps the most forgettable number one in my chart history. Meanwhile, Kenny Chesney and Eminem are on their way to number ones. Oh and the Bey stanning started early! 02 01 06 01 (1) "Goodbye" - Kristinia DeBarge01 02 15 01 (1) "Second Chance" - Shinedown 05 03 07 03 (1) "Out Last Night" - Kenny Chesney06 04 10 04 (1) "Sugar" - Flo Rida ft. Commentary: Billie holds at number one for a third straight week with "Black & White". She's thus ruled the top spot for 5 weeks now. "Black & White" nabs a special honor this week as it becomes my birthday number one. "Lean On" and "I Don't Need Another Lover" swap spots in the top three and "Pretty Girls" holds at number four. "Coffee" jumps 9-5 and thus matches "#Beautiful" to become Miguel's highest charting entry to date. "Say Something" inches 8-6 while "Bitch Better Have My Money" slides 6-7. Little Mix nab their third top ten entry this week as "Black Magic" blasts 29-8. "The Rhythm" advances 10-9 and Maroon 5 blasts 25-10 with "This Summer's Gonna Hurt". Elsewhere the chart is fairly boring this week. Only 5 songs debut/re-enter, led by Fifth Harmony's "Worth It" at number 31. Billie Black earns a fifth charting entry as "Going Under" debuts at number 45. Nicki Minaj enters at number 70 with "The Night Is Still Young". Tamar Braxton enters at number 94 with "If I Don't Have You" and Jidenna enters at number 96 with "Classic Man". Omg yesss welcome back Fifth Harmony! "Worth It" better slay this time! Hope "Pretty Girls" can eek out a Top 3 peak, and I hope "American Oxygen" gets into the Top 10. <3 I also love seeing Hilary Duff, Jordin Sparks, and Janelle Monae all on the rise in the Top 20. Great second week for "Flashlight"! Glad to see RaeLynn, Cam, Ashley Monroe, and Mo Pitney all moving up a little bit still. And yay @ that debut for "The Night Is Still Young"! <3 Sara Evans in the recurrent list.

I'm really pulling for "Stay A Little Longer" now and I love that its flying up your chart. :) I also love "I Keep Looking", "No Place That Far" and "Suds In The Bucket" in your recurrents. Did my random videos have an influence? Lol
