"National Anthem" gets my vote for the next single. It has a great video and deserves more recognition. I don't think they'll release anything that doesn't already have a music video.

Everybody needs to give Cedric Gervais credit for this masterpiece of a remix. Yes, it gave the track new life and new legs because pop radio was not giving her the time of day.
So it sheds some light on the dance community as a whole, and her as an artist/her catalogue.
I'm not her biggest fan - mainly because from watching her live performances she clearly doesn't live up to her recorded sound -- but I do enjoy this original track alongside the remix.
Bravo!

I couldn't be happier right now for Lana's success. Persistence is EVERYTHING. I added the trap remix of the Cedric Gervais version to my beach house playlist and everyone went nuts. I don't really like the regular Gervais remix (the original is just too perfect) but I'm glad it's getting Lana to blow up this way.

I can't believe that she has a Top ten hit on BB HOT 100! And on Pop too... Bless Cedric and his remix, hope they will use the chance she got for a second hit, and get it. My money is on "Young and Beautiful" or some older BTD song ("Blue Jeans" or "National Anthem").

That would be amazing if it did (and I love Roar) but overall, Lana is my queen.

This song's Hot 100 and CHR performance are nearly perfectly in sync. Going top 10 on both the same week. Congrats Lana!!!

This is almost the last song that I expected to finally get her a smash, but I don't care. Go Lana.

I am so thrilled that she finally has a top 10 hit on her hands. And also with the best song there is on Born to Die (I'm just gonna keep on pretending the remix had absolutely nothing to do with this).
Top 5, here she comes!

This proves that more record labels need to push newer artists over the long term. Most labels would have given up on her.

Are any HOT AC stations playing the regular version? I want the regular version to SMASH on AC, HOT AC and Triple A.

If she breaks through in the US, becomes the new Adele and everybody just about comes round to her on Pulse in a year's time in the same annoying way and nicknames her Lana Del Sley then I will give up on humanity. lol

This proves that more record labels need to push newer artists over the long term. Most labels would have given up on her. No offense, but the only thing it proves is why you're not working in the music business. Any label would be stupid to drop an artist with WW success, you know there's a market beyond the US one. She's having success in some of the major European markets (UK and Germany) which just alone is enough to still invest in her. Also, in the US, without radio support, her releases have done pretty well just based on the public interest alone. Remember Anastacia? Although being an American act she was a no-name in the US, but huge WW (particularly in Europe), now what label would drop someone selling millions world-wide just because one market's radio won't touch the material? Makes no sense.

Plus it was worth it keeping her for the absolutely fantastic album sales in the US without a single hit.

Yeah even before this took off her stateside album sales were around 700-800k and steadily increasing. Considering how badly her TV debut was received and the nonexistence of any promo or airplay in the states in over a year, that was already a terrific result. People were/are definitely connecting with this album. And that's before the international sales are factored in.

Do you know how small her recording budget was as well? She made that first album for basically nothing. Same writers, same personnel. I'm not even kidding when I say she's one of Interscope's most profitable artists.
Obviously the videos and marketing took on a life of their own budget-wise, but the point remains.

Jack, do you know if she's planning on releasing a new album anytime soon? I keep hearing conflicting stories that she's working on one with her team and that she's never planning on releasing an album again. With that mini-movie, I don't know if they want to close this era or try to keep it going. Imo, she should really try to put out an album in the first half of 2014. Aside from Beyonce and Adele, I don't think there are any female artists planning on launching new projects (not sure when Florence is planning on releasing next).

She keeps on referring to Tropico as the 'farewell project' whatever that means for her. I'm not holding my breath for a new album anytime soon. I can see her either releasing another one as early as next year just to fulfil her contract so she can focus on other things or take a 5 year break from music and release the next one around 2020 or sth.

I was able to find all the remix EPs for her singles and she has some AMAZING remixes. I wonder if they'll send past releases to radio.
I think this Dark Paradise remix would be a perfect followup.

I find Dark Paradise to be too similar to Summertime Sadness to work as the follow-up to it. This remix is nuts tho. It also received a similar radio edit to Summertime Sadness when it was released as a European single and it actually did pretty well. I hear it very often on the radio.

I've noticed the original has been selling more and more compareed to the remix. I wonder if it could eclipse it in the future?
