I still wish they would have a Nashville Star Band.... where various groups/bands would compete against each other.

Bret Michaels is going to be a judge? Well, that should be interesting. I've never thought of him as a country artist, but what do I know? I have heard that the show is trying to go for a younger, hipper image, so maybe having Bret as a judge is part of that. I expect the winner may be younger this year as well, or at least not as old as Buddy or Brad. I also wonder if there will be a deeper talent pool of women this year (last years final four were all men). However, Universal South, who is giving the winner a contract, has its own young up-and-coming female artist in Katrina Elam, and they may not want to sign someone who will compete too much with her.

Did anyone else watch last night? One of the contestants got so nervous that she ran off stage and presumably threw up. It was so awkward to watch. Then LeAnn Rimes had to come out and explain how difficult peforming is, etc. She better get voted off.
There is a woman from Australia, Tamika Tyler, who has an amazing voice.
Three other standouts were 19 year old hottie Casey Simpson, church leader Javron Weaver and Jason Meadows who did a great job singing Merle Haggard.
Leann was fine as host. No different than Nancy O'Dell really. The judges were too kind. Phil Vassar & Bret Michaels pretended to be more like the celebrity American Idol judges, praising everyone.

Three other standouts were 19 year old hottie Casey Simpson, GET OUT! I know she tried out for Nashville Star a while back, but I didn't know she made it! Although we weren't friends or anything, I had classes with her in elementary school and half of junior high but then I moved. I heard from friends back home that she was performing around Cerritos and even had a web page up. I liked how her webpage said "Watch out Jewel and LeAnn Rimes, you have competition!" Anyway, glad to see she made it! Congrats, Casey!

Gotta send a call out to the Nashville Star "house band" who performed last night as the majority of this band was made of my good friends Sixwire. :)

She also she mentioned she was a party girl. I like her voice and she looks great. I don't know if she'll be able to beat some of the older performers who have tons of experience, but I think she should last a few more weeks. Or at least I hope so.

I have been a loyal fan to this show from day one and even tried out for it making it to the top 10 in Birmingham out of 162 during seson one tryouts. There were a couple of good singers last night and a couple looked like they had been in the sauce before the show. The girl that ran off had "food poisining" or at least that's what they said. The judges were HORRIBLE. There has to be something bad to say about someone up there. Not everyone of them were as good as they said they were. The woman "just loved" everyone that got up. I know this isn't American Idol and you can't trash people just to trash them but constructive criticism never killed any one. Hopefully they will get a little more edge to them as the show goes on. Le Ann did a good job. She sounded great on You Take Me Home.

I'm gonna have to catch the rerun when it airs Sunday if I can remember because I was too busy watchin the 2 hr season premiere of the Amazing Race. I flipped back and forth a few times and the 2 guys I heard were just downright pathetic.
Weird she sang You Take Me Home since it's not the 2nd single....if they were smart, they would have had her sing PWBTW since it's soon to be released to radio.

I was thinking the same thing. Why did she sing YTMH? She should be pushing her next single.

For all of you wondering what Bret Michaels was doing on there, he's gonna try to make it in the country market. Just a short while ago, he had a great song out that didn't do anything at radio called All I Ever Needed that had Jessica Andrews on backing vocals.

The girl who ran off stage and threw up did not get voted off. Everyone must have felt sorry for her. She actually did really well last night and is one of the better vocalists on the show. Tamika Tyler is still my pick to win. She did a great job with "I'm Alright"
Mineable, your girl Casey made it this round, but was a little shaky this week.
Bret Michaels had to be drunk last night. He was mouthing along to the words of many of the songs and wasn't even close. Hilarious stuff. And his only critique of Casey Simpson was, "You're hot". He also told a couple of singers, "I wanna party with you". He's just awful as a judge, but still funny as hell to watch.

This season is just awful as hell. In all honesty, so far I'm not seeing one talented one in the bunch. What a joke this yr.

I still think that, for season 4, they need to go with Nashville Star Band... rather than having solo acts, let's hear some groups.

They need some real judges. Phill Vassar is great but too nice. I don't have a clue who the girl is and Brett... well he speaks for himself. Still hardly any crtical things said and there were plenty of things to be critical about. The bushy blonde is terrible, missed every high note and they were still like ...ohhhh you're such a great personality. Blah blah blah. Show some balls and get critical!!!.

This is the first time I've watched this season. I'd say Jayron and Jody were my favorites. I also liked Tamika, although personally I would never categorize Martina McBride as an "outlaw". Wasn't impressed at all with Justin (2nd guy) or Casey and I'd be fine with either of them getting the boot.

Bret Michales laid off the booze a little last night. He did tell Tamika she should do a shot of Jack daniels before taking the stage, and made a snide comment about feeling Erika Jo, but was not as outrageous as last week. He needs to step it up (or I should say down) next week.
I'm still a Tamika fan. Three amazing performances in a row. I, like Cari, also like Jayron.
Casey was awful this week, but as Bret said..."She's hot!!"

The blond with the really curly hair HAS GOT TO GO. Not only can she not sing, she's not fun to look at. She looks like a rat.

Is Casey still on the show? She's still on. She's not one of the better singers, but her looks could help her last a few more weeks.

That Casey girl gotta go. Not ready for the big time.
Erika Joe got that party thang/Britney Spears vibe with a decent voice goin' on, but she's only 18!
I liked Christy McDonald, but she's gone.
