Live clip: www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=OzdSUH6JsmoOf-the-moment DJ Avicii has been teaming up with a litany of diverse stars on his forthcoming debut album #TRUE (hashtag true!) — and the latest collaboration features glam-pop singer Adam Lambert and iconic musician (and “Get Lucky” cameo-maker) Nile Rodgers. Avicii described the song, titled ”ID (Lay Me Down),” to Digital Spy as having a “very disco” sound. He went on: “It’s kind of all over the place. It’s a fusion, but when you listen to the whole album it makes sense. It sounds like it’s going to be weird, but the final product is what I got so excited about.”
He’s been testing the song at various music festivals over the past few weeks — and despite the low quality of the performance audio, “ID (Lay Me Down)” sounds like a potential hit with Lambert’s strong vocals and the feel-good production. The collaboration, alongside a song with Imagine Dragons, will be on #TRUE, out September 17.

The final version is really good! I totally agree on this being a future single from the new album. Perhaps it could pave the way for Adam with his own solo project.

It's good...my only real complaint is that I don't like that the instrumental mostly drowns out his voice on the hook.

Will probably be a club smash but I don't see it smashing at radio.

I really think this is hot! Perhaps it will give Adam a direction for his next recordings. Although his album hit no.1, it produced nothing significant in the way of singles. Nowadays, it's anybody's guess how radio will handle a single but Avicii is IN now so it shouldn't have any resistance. Great collab.

PLEASE GIVE ADAM LAMBERT ANOTHER HIT.
That will probably make up for most of Trespassing going to dust.

I wanted a hot and sexy Adam Lambert video. :( Especially since Avicii is so average looking in comparison.
I still think this song could be a potential crossover hit, but I'm not holding my breath. It would have had a bigger chance right after "Wake Me Up" peaked.
Above all, the song is still hot af.

I was going to say, I don't remember hearing Imagine Dragons on the album. : ( at the vocals being cut. I think the main reason is probably because ID is a huge group, and avicii would have to label them.

I have not been a huge fan of Imagine Dragons, but I do like "It's Time" and "Demons" a lot. This works on so many levels. That dark string riff is cut from the same cloth as Brainbug's gothic masterpieces "Nightmare" and "Benedictus". I can't help but wonder if the vocal mix was scrapped temporarily so it could be put on a re-release of the Avicii album and then made into the lead single for that. I could totally see them slightly remixing it and then releasing it. It also makes sense that the instrumental mix was released instead because Imagine Dragons still has their own album era happening and perhaps they don't want this to interfere/overshadow their own releases.

From what I read, Dan Reynolds' vocals were cut from the final release because of legal issues. Such a missed opportunity. That song could've been huge. I also remember reading somewhere that John Legend was supposed to provide vocals for "Wake Me Up" instead of Aloe Blacc. But I guess something happened there as well. I do love Aloe Blacc's voice though, and I think it fits the song better than John Legend's would have.
I do love this though. I hope it gets released to Pop after "Addicted To You" runs its course. I saw Avicii in Toronto last Saturday, and he totally skipped over this song. I was pretty pissed lol.
