I like how unprocessed her vocals are, too. So much better than ET. She actually sounds great when she sings more restrained in a lower range. No longer a John Mayer fan, but she sounds excellent on that one, too. Looking forward to "Walking On Air" now, and especially Prism. Big Britney fan, but hoping there are no more Will I Am singles (great song, great energy, classic sass, everything perfect on her end -- but the production, which usually sets her apart, isn't up to par).

Time to send this to Rhythmic and Urban ASAP. Didn't like ET, was so so on this last night, and love it now, esp with the BPM upped. BPM upped and some awesome covers: Listen HereI like the original, but this is great too!

This is great! Could be one of my favorites from her, actually it probably is my favorite. She's hit or miss with me in general, but this is a jam for sure.

With this currently sitting at #60 and moving up at Pop, anyone think this could get shoe-horned into being the official second single?

I think it's funny that DH is higher than WB on H100. (Not an attack on Brit, but DH has had incredible staying power for a buzz single.) It will be promoted at radio at some point.

With this currently sitting at #60 and moving up at Pop, anyone think this could get shoe-horned into being the official second single? Anything is possible, but it seems they are still focused on "Unconditionally" as the next single. A remixer friend of mine has heard that new song already and says that it's a good choice so we shouldn't dismiss it. I think it's funny that DH is higher than WB on H100. (Not an attack on Brit, but DH has had incredible staying power for a buzz single.) It will be promoted at radio at some point. Same with "Walking On Air" having been in the upper part of iTunes in the U.S. and worldwide for the most part since it was released, though it has slowed a bit today.

Nevermind that that will easily reverse itself next week, and then some... I know that with the video/streaming. Brit will rebound. It's just odd for a preview single to be so solid. They usually fade by end of first week. It's been Top 10 for 10 days and counting.

Love it. It makes me want to move. Cannot wait to hear it in a club (like I'd go to one though...). :)

This song is honestly better than Unconditionally, maybe they should've pushed this instead.

This is way better than Unconditionally but that song is smashing too so... just release Dark Horse for the new year! Its' already slaying. It's one of my favorites on the CD, so good!

I actually think "Dark Horse" sounds different enough from "Unconditionally" where they could both smash at the same time. It's too popular to suppress for much longer; by the time they get around with it most of its potential audience will be off of it already.
(This kind of reminds me when Mariah's label went out of their way to suppress "Migrate" when it showed signs of blowing up to force a bland ballad on us. Unlike that instance, Katy's long term won't suffer as much)

bitch you allergic to good music being released? why this song isnt released is beyond me considering what was and what will be. This is a good song and a departure from the usual Katy. She afraid?

Damn, this song is absolutely killing it here, and especially worldwide. They obviously have no choice at this point but to make this 3rd. Her label just needs to shell out some $$$$$ and get Unconditionally where they want it (peak wise), and roll this puppy out!

Should be back in the top 50 on Pop this Sunday by my reckoning, and adds date or not maybe this time the thread should be moved to the Pop forum, but we'll see.

I'm wondering if the support will wane by then. I think it should be the third single, but if the download hype dies down by January, they might want to wait and release it fourth like they did "E.T." Nevertheless, it definitely should have been the second single. This and pretty much anything else from the first half of the record would've been better than "Unconditionally," to be honest.

Damn gurl...those verses Im a huge katy fan, love her songs and a like her personality. but she has never impressed me with any TV/Live performance. her voice isn't amazing live and she doesn't put on a "big" show or anything, so I always think her live performances fall flat

^ yeah, she is definitely more of a studio artist than a live artist, which is fine
