Congrats to Katy! Seems weird having a different #1 now haha.
Does anybody think Blurred Lines has any chance at re-climbing to #1? Katy has her video next week, so should be #1 again, don't know if Blurred Lines will be strong enough after that.

Well nailed 1-7 and #10... Can't be too disappointed with my predictions. I was kinda hoping BL would keep going, though it is refreshing to have a new #1.

I wonder how they would credit Blurred Lines if it was #1 this week and most of its points came from the VMA performance. Would it be 'featuring Miley Cyrus' (Live Version), 'featuring Miley Cyrus, T.I. + Pharrell' or would the We Can't Stop/Blurred Lines/Give It 2 U medley be #1 instead? Guess we'll never know but I'd love to see the reaction if sth like that happened.

I am happy Blurred Lines is no longer number one, but that Katy song does not deserve to be number one.

Although "Roar" is putting up pretty impressive #s across all 3 components of the HOT 100, it will have plenty of competition going forward. "Royals" is shaping up to be the "left-field" hit of 2013. "Wake Me Up" is another strong contender (although I was surprised that its' sales leveled off).

(UPDATE 2:30 ET: Due to a data error, the rankings for Jay Z and Lady Gaga were revised after posting.)
Jay Z's "Holy Grail" (featuring Justin Timberlake) re-enters the Hot 100's top five, rebounding to its peak to date (6-5). Lady Gaga recedes 4-6 on the Hot 100 with "Applause," with which she opened the VMAs.

LOL! Mariah (and Boyz II Men)'s record was never in any real jeopardy. If Robin had somehow held on to #1 this week, this would almost certainly have been his last.

Katy has amassed 8 #1 singles from just three studio albums. It took Mariah four studio releases to do that, and Rihanna five.
That's a big number of hits from such a small catalogue.

I think not only will Roar be stiff competition for Britney, but also Lorde and Avicii coming up. They look to be solid #1 contenders in the next month or so. Plus they both have great streaming numbers.

Billboard also updated the bit about "Royals" and "Radioactive" ("Royals" is No. 1 on Hot Rock Songs).

LADY GAGA – Applause: 50.324 (+ 0.263)
can someone explain how this is the end result of today's updates combined? Didn't it get a +0.625 on pop? Has there been a mistake?
