Maybe because radio prefers it to "Take Back the Night?" TLC on the verge of a top 20 airplay hit- albeit, a "featuring," but still. AR-J- I read the track goes for official top 40 airplay on Sept. 16? In this instance, the impact date could help with label promotion, since neither J Cole or TLC have had huge success in recent memory at pop radio (J Cole had one top 15 hit last year, and two others that didn't fare as well). haha, which were the other two?... cause "Can't Get Enough" and "Nobody's Perfect" had no business being sent to Top 40/Pop. "Power Trip" was very urban, but very catchy, wish it got a better shot. "Crooked Smile" is a different story.

I really hope "Crooked Smile" can push up those final few spots on the Hot 100 into the Top 40. Beyond just thinking it's a really good song on its own, it would make my heart warm to see TLC in the top 40 again. :) If the music video ever comes out!! > , Crooked Smile will break to Top 40 of the Hot 100 . At #44 last week, do you think it can break it with its increase on radio in the last week? I wasn't counting on it.

I do hope something comes out soon and just pushes Catty Purry to the curb... I have even called the radio station here and asked if they had anything else they could play.

like I asked in the Royals thread, anyone think based on her gains she has a shot of going top 2 next week and Robin falling to #3?

AR-J: "Can't Get Enough" just missed the top 40 at pop radio, and "Power Trip" reached No. 35.

I want "Roar" to spend at least 5 weeks at #1. I think "Werk Bitch" and "Royals" don't pose a threat anytime soon.

I am guessing "Royals" will go top 5 on the Sept. 21 HOT 100 and possibly as high as #3 on the Sept. 28 HOT100. I don't think it is a slam dunk for #1 but it should at least reach #2.

No new entries at Top 40 Mainstream this week.
And as if topping its weekly BDS audience wasn't enough, "Blurred Lines" has matched "We Belong Together's" 10-week run atop top 40 radio. Will it hold for an 11th week?

Chart Highlights: Robin Thicke's 'Blurred Lines' Leads Pop Songs For 10th Week
Pop Songs *** No. 1 (10 weeks)*** "Blurred Lines" Robin Thicke Featuring T.I. + Pharrell
Robin Thicke notches a 10th week at No. 1 on Pop Songs with "Blurred Lines" (featuring T.I. and Pharrell). "Lines" – Billboard's Song of the Summer – is the list's longest-leading No. 1 since Mariah Carey likewise logged 10 weeks at the summit with "We Belong Together," the top summer title of 2005. "Lines" is just the second No. 1 by a solo male to spend at least 10 weeks on top, following Nelly's "Over and Over" (featuring Tim McGraw), which led for 11 frames in 2004-05. Of the 263 No. 1s in the chart's 21-year history, "Lines" is just the 12th to rack a reign of double-digit weeks.
Greatest Gainer No. 5 "Roar" Katy Perry
14, "The Sign" - Ace Of Base 11, "Over and Over" - Nelly featuring Tim McGraw 11, "Torn" - Natalie Imbruglia 11, "I Love You Always Forever" - Donna Lewis 11, "One Sweet Day" - Mariah Carey & Boyz II Men 10, "We Belong Together" - Mariah Carey 10, "How You Remind Me" - Nickelback 10, "Bye Bye Bye" - 'N Sync 10, "My Heart Will Go On" - Céline Dion 10, "Don't Speak" - No Doubt 10, "I Know" - Dionne Farris 10, "Blurred Lines" - Robin Thicke featuring T.I. + Pharrell

"Safe and Sound" trailed by almost 1,500 spins for the 9/21 chart, and "Roar" by almost 2,000. of course, the latter is gaining crazy, but will it jump right from 5-1? Or will the former get a week in?

Robin is probably a lock for #1 for at least one more week.

Or will the former get a week in? Well, it's definitely jumping 5-1 on Mediabase this week and take the number one spot by a good margin, and I can't see BDS being that far off, so yeah, I think "Roar" will be #1 on Billboard next week as well as Mediabase.

I'm genuinely surprised Gaga is holding on with moderate gains in airplay... I thought the song was due for a quick burnout.

Nope the song is strong and now it's moving back up. Yeah, it's stable on iTunes, I thought this was going to peak fast but it's holding on.

Where is Roar likely to peak in airplay?

Where is Roar likely to peak in airplay? Counting in 100M from pop, 50M from HAC, 15M from AC, 18M from Rhythmic and 2M from other formats... ~185M AI on Mediabase. That's around 146M on BDS which counts for Hot 100 Airplay. For comparison "E.T" peaked at 151M on Mediabase.
