This song is beginning to grow on me. I didn't like it at first. I still wonder if an uptempo song would have been a better comeback for her. Garth sounds great as well...damn i miss him on the radio.

The single version of GR is about a minute longer than the edit available on AllAcess. It sounds even better!

I FINALLY heard this last night on the nationally syndicated 'America's Hotlist With Whitney Allen' show, and I REALLY like it!!
It's really nice having Trisha back on the radio; I hope this single launches a resurgence similar to what Lee Ann Womack, LeAnn Rimes, Jo Dee Messina, reba, and other ladies are now experienceing, which would also include Jamie O'Neal's terrific new single and CD.

This song brings back what brought me to love country music... Trisha Yearwood! She was one my first musical loves and she is back doing it right with "Georgia Rain". Movin' on up on Mediabase, too, which is good to see.

I love this song, but I hate the album. This is the highlight. In fact, I can't believe it is such a horrid album since it took her so long. It's almost like the whole thing is filler. Highly disappointed. I will listen to it again and see if I change my mind, but wow, after hearing "Georgia Rain" I was excited. What a disappointment.. :(

Well, I have to tell you, I hope I totally disagree with you! ;) I have loved Trisha's last 2 CDs even though they didn't do much commercially. I want this one to be as emotionally resonating and musically sophisticated as those were!

After listening to the whole album, it seems like Garth is backing on more songs than 'Georgia Rain'.
Maybe that is why he parted with Capitol. To release a duet album with Yearwood? MCA and Capitol have not been able to agree on that topic before. Now that Garth has parted with Capitol and become totally independent, the much anticipated duet album can become a reality. Hopefully!

I don't really think a duets album is "anticipated" and I for one, hope it never happens. Duets are good every now and then, but not an entire albums worth.
I have heard all of Jasper County too....listened to it twice actually to see if it's one of those albums that gets better after you listen to it a little, and I have to say no, it's not. I would put this right there with Real Live Woman, which I think is Trisha's worst album to date.

Georgia Rain is a great song!!! Zazie...honey....look at some of the aweful songs on the chart right now. I like the album. Honestly, I LOVE Trisha's voice so she could sing anything and I'd probably like it. I think "Try Me" is such a sweet little song but doubt it'll be a single.

This song is OK. I love her voice but ballads like this one usually bore me. This one's not bad, but it's nothing I would rush out and buy an album for. I would like to see it make the Top 15, though. Women are due for some success on the chart.
The R&R Top 15 has only 4 female acts. Faith Hill, SHeDAISY, Reba and Sugarland (and there is a male in the group). :( .

I don't understand why they realesed this song so early, when the album is gonna be released only in Spetember. Anyway, it lost its bullet.

I wonder the same thing, and I was afraid this was going to happen. I love Trisha and her amazing voice, but this song is just kind of blah for her. She does great with ballads but there is nothing special about this one to make it stand out. "I Would've Loved You Anyway" had some outrageous climb before it peaked at #4. Maybe this will repeat that way, thought I would have hoped for something better...

Georgia Rain is a great song!!! Zazie...honey....look at some of the aweful songs on the chart right now. You called me "honey." That makes my day, even if I think you're probably just being patient with my contrary opinions. Now that we're in love, let's see if our relationship can stand some honesty. Trisha's song is not the worst thing out there, if that matters. She's never going to be awful, like others I won't name because I'm not trying to pick a fight. It's just a waste of a great opportunity -- Trisha's long-awaited return -- by choosing a weak song. I'm disappointed. I like Trisha a lot. But nothing's going to make this song more than a tired re-hash. Certainly singing the chorus about ten times won't help it.... The singer of "A Perfect Love" should have done better.

I guess that makes sense. I lost sight of the fact that you were comparing this single to previous Trisha singles......not other artists. I still like the song.
This board is all about honesty and you wouldn't be picking a fight if you shared your opinion about who you believe is "awful"! Everyone is entitled to an opinion and unless I'm the artist you're criticizing....I'm not going to be offended....honey. :)

Everyone is entitled to an opinion and unless I'm the artist you're criticizing....I'm not going to be offended....honey. :) Way too many thin-skinned people around here to overdo the honesty. Although you, to your credit, come across as a straight shooter who has a sense of humor. I'm surprised to see the song struggling -- it lost its bullet on the 6/25 Billboard chart, even though it moved up thanks to other songs going recurrent. I expected it to get to the lower part of the top 20 and struggle then, but this is too early. I have to root for the song, even though I don't like it, because I want there to be many more Trisha releases afterwards. I hope she regains the bullet and keeps climbing -- the next 4 or 5 weeks will tell the tale.

This makes me ill!!! How can this song be struggling while Mississippi Girl is taking off? Although this is not one of my favorites right now it is way better than the crap that is Miss. Girl. I really hope this will gain something and at least make the top 15.

Girl is a better comeback song for Faith than Georgia Rain is for Trisha. I know she generally does well with ballads, but it's very possibly the wrong time of year and even the wrong song for her. I hope she does well with it, but I'm just not sure...

Just heard the rest of the album and :'( I am not impressed at all. Usually you can pick at least a couple of singles on the first listen of an album but I could pick none. She just dosen't sound very excited. The production is not done well. Oh well, I like this song a little more everyday, so maybe the album will grow on me.
