New solo single from Disclosure/Naughty Boy collaborator Sam Smith, who has also been signed to Capitol Records in the US.

This is excellent; almost up there with "Nirvana."
Who produced this? It sounds a bit like Naughty Boy's work.

Sam has yet to put out a song that I don't like.

He's spent the past 18 months building buzz and making connections with his more established peers. Everyone from Maxwell to Taylor Swift to Sting to Mary J. Blige are behind him, not to mention his friends Disclosure and Jessie Ware. The work has paid off. I'm happy for him! Great song.

He should pull a Bruno. Let "La La La" and "Latch" do their stuff here, then send "Money on my Mind" to radio later on.

UK Tuesday midweeks:
1. Money On My Mind (48.7k) 2. Say Something (26k) 3. Rather Be (20.2k) 4. Happy (50 copies behind #3)
Still has a big lead on iTunes. Should be very much safe for #1, unless Pharrell's BRITs performance gives him a huge boost.

With the hairstyle they're giving him and his extremely pale skin and bloated figure he looks like Humpty Dumpty, not international superstar material. He needs an image change if he really wants to make it big everywhere, because the songs are there.

He's a vocalist of acquired taste, much like Nelly Furtado, Melanie C, Morrissey, Coco Rosie, Tom Waits, Isaac Broc, Billy Corgan, Ellie Goulding, etc., but I love it. It definitely takes time to appreciate. That being said, his controlled approach in "Latch" shouldn't be too polarizing. Also despite his appearance, girls (and boys) will still probably swoon over his British accent.

Ha, no. An English accent isn't enough when you look like the Pillsbury Doughboy.

WOW @ at the harshness over his looks! I actually think he's kinda cute in a retro 80's kinda way. In the words of Timbaland, Maganoo and Brandy, I get "N 2 Da Music".
