Wow, am I wrong in thinking Unconditionally won't hit top 10? Airplay or H100? On H100, it has a chance with Applause and Bound 2 certain to drop below it. LHG is still up in digital, so may be tough to pass and HOICH is dropping. Will have to wait for 1D and/or Roar to drop out. Not much else is heading down at moment. They should do a remix or a 69 cent and give it that push. Once it makes iTunes Top 10, I think it will climb.

^ The holiday songs probably gained daily airplay, but the seven-day-rolling period that this updated reflects removed the day after Thanksgiving from the equation,. which is when holiday play really starts taking off.

The Monster is positively going top 2 tomm. and all the way to #1 within a week (if that long) and may have a lengthy stay. Any updates on the WB viral videos views? Again, that's truly what this is all coming down to lol. Although many were impatient (esp. myself) by all these weeks at #2 for TM (esp. last week!), as I also said, Em and esp. Rihannas team obviously know what they're doing here (in holding back the video), yet are more patient than us lol. Looks like (long as Mileys streams went down considerably) that The Monster will have a nice stay at #1 once the video comes out. They prob. just waited a bit (even though they couldve prob. had it the last two weeks) for that X-mas and New Years #1.

Looks like a re-entry to me. CM is already in Top 100 of iTunes, which is better than Enya, Bon Jovi or Beyonce. Will be interesting where the views are coming from, but it's definitely impacting the US. This goes to my point was streaming is important. There is a definite correlation between the video and song. Wonder how high it can debut, up to 10 million views. t's over 17 million views now. The thing is, i watched that for the Paul tribute. They could have played any song behind it.

"Coming Home" currently is at 105 on iTunes- funny thing is, we don't hear Diddy's voice in that tribute, right?

I hope there's a new #1 before year ends, only 2 more weeks for the Hot 100 (Dec 21, 28). There are less and less #1s every year, 2010 (17) 2011 (13) 2012 (12) 2013 (9). Is streaming slowing down things?

I feel like if they're including the music in these videos, they should also be including music played in movies. People are passive consumers of the music in both.

"Thrift Shop" deserved to be 11 weeks at #1, it's a mega hit with over 7 million in sales. I think the week HS exploded was the one Billboard added YouTube streaming into the Hot 100 formula.

I think the week HS exploded was the one Billboard added YouTube streaming into the Hot 100 formula. You are correct. It was the week and Billboard either got lucky or timed it perfectly so they could get a ton of buzz regarding HS debuting at #1 because of streams. My big issue with HS was the 30 second clips. I have no problem with the Chatroulette, Volvo ad, etc. because the song is used in a substantial manner and it is key. Get Me Bodied is another example, like HS, the song in that instance was barely recognizable. It was irrelevant to the video.
