I'm assuming that's what Mike meant by "Overdose" carrying her into the next album. That's probably why they're taking so long in sending it to Pop. I'm excited for new material regardless. "Ciara" was one of the best albums released this year, it'll be hard for her to top it but she's working with a great team of producers so I'm confident that w/e she puts out will be great. It's still a shame to see such tracks like "DUI" and "Super Turnt Up" go to waste.

She has a record deal because even with her diminishing returns and lack of mainstream (as in, Top 40 and the Hot 100) success, she's still a fairly big name. She isn't some irrelevant nobody.

I would disagree here. I think that's more applicable to people like Avril Lavigne, Nelly Furtado and Alanis. If you ask ten people outside a music board if they know Ciara, you'll see that most don't. While I think Ciara is one of the most talented girls in the game, it really does she surprise me that she can still maintain a major label deal, even if it's on a smaller one like Epic.

Take the genre into account too, though. If Ciara were pop she would likely have been dropped a long time ago, but sales are downright dismal for r&b females right now - particularly the 'contemporary' urban ones like Ciara, Kelly, Brandy, etc. The one-hit-and-done era is pretty common with that type of artist. In that perspective, Ciara is no worse off than anyone else on her playing field, so no, a label would not let go of her b/c she'll just find another home and that pocket change will go to someone else. But for various reasons people find it easier to drag Ci for it.

To the current topic, I have to admit I'm partly bummed, but then I am also happy? I don't know. I was looking forward to seeing her get her footing some more with this next era and now she done got knocked up. She and Future are a disgustingly attractive couple who will have disgustingly cute babies and just be disgustingly adorable. Damn them.

I still have hopes that 50 Cent will realize his love for Ciara and sweep in to save her from a life of Future. She and 50 will raise that baby and it will be a true love story. 50 Cent is way more buff than Future.

It’s true — Ciara is pregnant!

After months of rumors, the singer and actress confirmed Tuesday on The View that yes, she is expecting a baby with her fiancé, rapper-producer Future.

This will be the first child for Ciara, 28, while Future, 30, has three children from previous relationships — a son, 11, a daughter, 4, and a second son, 13 months.

The couple were engaged in October after Future surprised his love with an eye-popping 15-carat custom ring on her birthday weekend.
