Billboard revealed some details about the video shoot of "Open Wide" where Calvin was nearly injured

The set of Calvin Harris' new music video for "Open Wide" featuring Big Sean was a nail biter. The clip's pretend violence, which features a dancer balletically dodging bullets fired by rival gangs, had "everyone on edge," says director Emil Nava, particularly when explosives used to blow out a window inches from Harris enveloped him a cloud of dust. The crew's pulse rates returned to normal when Harris emerged unscathed. Nava had wanted to shoot the video in downtown Los Angeles but couldn't get permission to close roads and have the cast shoot off dozens of guns for the clip. Instead, the crew headed to the California desert, setting up shop at a film set called The Four Aces in Lancaster, about an hour northeast of the city.

Calvin Harris becomes the first act to place three songs simultaneously in the Hot Dance/Electronic Songs top 10, as "Outside," featuring Ellie Goulding, debuts at No. 7. It joins "Blame," featuring John Newman (No. 2) and "Summer" (No. 9) in the upper tier. "Outside" is also Harris' sixth top 10 on the nearly two-year-old chart, pushing him past David Guetta and Zedd (both with five) for the top mark. It's the second chart pairing for Harris and Goulding: their "I Need Your Love" spent four weeks at No. 3 in mid-summer 2013.

"Outside" starts with 47,000 downloads sold, according to Nielsen SoundScan (good for a No. 2 bow on Dance/Electronic Digital Songs), while "Blame" serves as the Hot Dance/Electronic Songs Digital Gainer with a rise of 6 percent to 42,000. Meanwhile, "Blame" ascends 2-1 on Dance/Mix Show Airplay, marking Harris' seventh No. 1, tying him with Madonna and Guetta for the second-most chart-toppers. Rihanna leads with 11.

All three of Harris' tracks hail from his album Motion, due Nov. 4. On the Hot 100, "Outside" debuts at No. 68, while "Blame" rises five spots to No. 21. In the last 10 years, Harris and Guetta have each placed seven songs in the top 40 of the Hot 100, the most among DJs. Harris is also the only DJ in the upper half of the Billboard Artist 100, cruising 37-23.

Anyway, the key promotion campaign for Motion is not going to be only in the UK, since it also covers five East Coast cities of the US through a Listening Truck Tour from October 30 to November 2! I know. I just found out this.

After a few more listens, this is a pretty solid album. I could do with replacing Open Wide with just plain C.U.B.A. but whatever. And I think Blame comes off looking like one of the weaker songs when placed next to the other gems on here.

The biggest surprise is definitely Ecstasy. Calvin dropping baby-making ballads in the middle of this thing.

Outside, Pray to God, Together, and Dollar Signs are all amazing.

Calvin basically shits Platinum singles at this point.

One thing that ticks me off is that "Under Control" isn't apart of the 'Complete My Album' feature... I'm probably not going to buy this until it goes on sale like I did with 18 Months.

This is the Tuesday update in the UK and Motion is atop with 14.4k copies sold so far. However, I have to be honest that I was expecting that the gap with the album at #2 (in this case, x by Ed Sheeran) to be more than 1.8k As a consequence, I really hope Calvin could maintain the lead/the gap until Sunday. Sigh!

Having said that, Motion is currently atop on the UK iTunes, while the deluxe and standard editions of x are at #4 and #14, respectively.

Anyone else surprised Calvin doesn't have more songs inside the top 100 of iTunes upon the album's release today? The only reasons I can think of are people are buying the full album instead or the hype has died down since several tracks were previously released already.

Yay! I mean, I wasn't expecting Calvin's sales to be so high if it's considered that EDM albums don't sell too much, so it will be amazing if Motion debuts in the Top 10 as it's mentioned. Also, the fact that he improves his debut sales from 18 Months to Motion is great!

Rather safe album for the most part; it's catchy and solid the whole way through but there's very few "wow!" moments.

For me personally, "Love Now" is that wow! moment. Who is All About She? Never head of her/them but what an awesome track. My silver medal goes to the HAIM song.

Personally, I'm not. I mean, sales aren't Calvin's strength, so it's not expected to see some of his songs inside the Top 100 of the US iTunes unless they have been promoted as singles.

All About She are a musical British trio, consisting of record producers James Tadgell and Jon Clare, and singer Vanya Taylor. They are signed on Tinie Tempah's label and they are known because of their UK Top 20 hit "Higher (Free)".

He is the only DJ in the upper half of the Billboard Artist 100, up for the third consecutive week (23-21). "Blame," featuring John Newman's vocals, serves as the Airplay and Digital Gainers on Hot Dance/Electronic Songs, holding strong at No. 2 for a second week. Harris comes within just a few hundred units of overcoming Clean Bandit's "Rather Be" for No. 1 on Dance/Electronic Digital Songs, shifting 46,000 units, up 8 percent. Not to be overlooked, "Blame" is No. 1 on Dance/Mix Show Airplay for a second week and it also climbs into the Hot 100 top 20 (21-19).

Calvin posted on Twitter early this morning EST time (the tweet is deleted though) that he was cancelling his performance on the MTV Europe Music Awards because of heart problems/a heart scare :( Hope he will get better soon

As this year's ceremony is held at the SSE Hydro in Glasgow, it means that the Scottish-born star will not be returning to play in front of his home crowd.

I find this album to be a bit too uneven unfortunately. There are some great tracks on it like "Together", "Pray to God", "Dollar Signs", "Blame", and "Love Now" (unpopular opinion I know, but the strings really tie it all together for me). I'd even throw "Open Wide" on that list too if it wasn't for the cringey lyrics too because putting that aside the production on that is brilliant. Then on the flip side some of the songs on here fall flat for me. I like that he tried to add some different elements and a bit of variation to a few of the tracks of course, but for the bulk of the songs it's almost a bit too generic and sterile with the paint by numbers edm formula he seems bent on. I can't tell if maybe I'm just getting checked out from him in general or what, but for me his first two albums are easily his best work.

As a side note, when "Open Wide" was introduced by Scott Mills (he was replacing Jameela Jamil) on the Official Chart Show last week, he said that the track received its first play in the US. Personally, I was intrigued by this because I thought that Calvin's team/Calvin himself only dropped the video, although the fact that it stayed as a private for four hours on his YouTube/VEVO channel could have been an indicator of that.



Having said that, it's interesting to see that "Outside" received its first play in the UK, while "Open Wide" in the US.

As expected, Motion debuts at #2 in the UK. Despite of this, it becomes his fourth Top 10 there, which it's still a great achievement in my opinion and I think it could re-peak in January. Let's see if this happens of course.

So great! Also, it was the only song post-album release that made the Top 200 in the UK Singles Chart and it makes me think that it's doing well WW, so I guess I could say that either people (still) like to listen Calvin's voice on his songs or they bought it by default because it was the opening track. I will go with the former of course, so I could say: "Calvin, please sing more!" :)

With three consecutive number one singles already lifted from it, there seemed little doubt that Calvin Harris' fourth album Motion would debut atop the chart this week to become his third consecutive number one. Despite leading on all of the week's sales flashes – and despite the success of those three singles which have sold a combined 1,354,546 copies - that didn't happen.

Opening instead at number two, Motion's first week sale is just 37,325 – well below the 52,356 copies that immediate predecessor 18 Months sold when it debuted at number one in 2012, and only marginally above the 36,308 copies that Ready For The Weekend sold when it opened at the summit in 2009.

Seven songs from Motion are in the Top 200 - most recent number one "Blame" (feat. John Newman) slips 9-11 (23,970 sales), while second number one "Summer" bounces 64-52 (6,407 sales) and first number one "Under Control" (feat. Alesso & Hurts) moves 111-105 (3,400 sales). Ellie Goulding collaboration "Outside" debuts at number six (28,902 sales), while "Open Wide" - a preview track that features Big Sean - falls 23-33 (12,189 sales), "Slow Acid" - another preview track - moves 178-185 (2,024 sales) and "Faith" debuts at number 150 (2,507 sales).

18 Months was in the Top 200 continuously for 101 weeks before falling off the list just four weeks ago but it re-enters this week at number 21, with 5,119 sales, after being reduced to 99p at Google Play. Its career sales tally rises to 815,636 as a result. Ready For The Weekend has sold 274,786 copies, and Harris' 2007 debut album I Created Disco - which peaked at number eight - has sold 223,845 copies. Harris, incidentally, has sold 8,176,180 singles/tracks (including 2014 streaming sales) thus far.

Few notes:

• Although I still think it's an achievement that all Calvin's albums have made the Top 10 in the UK, it's not too good if Motion first week sales are compared with 18 Months and, even, Ready for the Weekend. I mean, the latter is still his best album to date, but the former had 3 UK #1 and it also came from the accolade that its predecessor had 9 UK Top 10, so... I guess promo would have played a key factor here.
• The fact that "Under Control", "Summer" and "Blame" have sold 1.35m combined is amazing. Also, the latter has sold 375,739 copies (combining sales and streaming) to date, so it leaves ~979k for the first two songs. Wow!
• The last number, almost 8.2m in singles/tracks, is insane. KING!
