So happy the latest Jason Derulo song is doing so great. He is already on like the 5th single in Europe and Talk dirty was huge last year in Europe...

Anyone know what caused "love don't die" and "sail" to recently shoot up iTunes the past day or so? I believe Sail was played on an episode of ABC Pretty Little Liars last night. The Fray was on the Sports Illustrated 50 year special last night and they sang "Love Don't Die" on it.

DIL didn't even need to jump to #2 for it to be a major hit, in my opinion. It already was, anecdotally and with its impact online, in sales and at radio. Not to mention it is doing very well worldwide, which is even more impressive considering it is such an urban song. That is an excellent point. Beyonce has been entrenched in the Top 2 streaming songs in the country for weeks now....and pop radio still sat on their hands. Pop radio is behind the times. Pop radio needs to stop being a follower format and lead a little. That's how you stay relevant in people's mind. If you are constantly following the trend you lose relevance. It's amazing how times have changed. I remember ten years ago when Britney's "Toxic" spent four weeks at #1 on Pop, yet couldn't get higher than #9 on the Hot 100.

Yeah because it didn't have cross format airplay but I'm sure if streaming had been in the mix at the time... it would've probably been in the Top 3 if not #1.

Toxic and Jessica Simpson's With You - major pop hit, all over because of reality show and ends up at #14.

#7 in sales, #14 in airplay yet #2 on the hot 100?!
Watch Billboard reweigh streaming in the chart after this mess. DiL is a great song and it's a hit, but it should NOT be at #2 this week.

Oh please. If they didn't do it when that PSY song went top 5 with nothing but streaming, they won't. And YES, DIL deserves to be at #2. It's a cultural phenom! SURFBORDT! SURFBORDT!

Yay! So the haters can STFU now that even Billboard sees this as the #2 song in the country. I still don't get the diff between Streaming and On Demand though so whatever. On-Demand is a component/fraction of Streaming; Streaming Songs is the overall total. Billboard's definition of what the On-Demand Songs chart measures: Streaming Songs is one of the three main Hot 100 components along with airplay (Radio Songs) and sales.

Beyonce does not deserve to be #2...Happy deserves a highest placement., The only reason people are getting mad that some dont think it should be #2 is because if it never went top 10 they wouldn't have anything to talk about.

We would still be talking about those 17 fabulous videos; DIL being in the top 10 in the UK with no promo, and those 1.7 million albums sold. Luv ya boo!

I still think american charts should be sales only...radio can have their own chart, but because clear channel chooses what they want to put in heavy rotation, songs on the radio truly are not what is always something we want to hear constantly. As for streaming, once again if the song was not purchased it was truly not something peopled wanted, yet something they tried out. The sales reflect exactly what people like the most and should be the only factor of the charts.

Since many sites have a place you can post your own personal chart. Billboard should incorporate those into the final stats. They are constantly adding some new formula , so why not OUR personal data.

Nice move for "Drunk in Love." And pooey at the "Let Her Go" scenario- not categorized under the music banner? So, the ad featuring "Only Time" was? Why wouldn't this one be? not to mention all those user-generated 30-second Harlem Shake videos which, let's face it, NO ONE watched to listen to the song itself. -_______-

She got the points to be #2. Happy doesnt have the points yet. Additionally, it doesn't have any album sales....but then who does these days.

The Hot 100 has always had sales and airplay and always will. No it won't. Don't be so sure of that. No one saw Harlem Shake coming. Sales will likely be in the HOT 100 for the foreseeable future. However, airplay is another story altogether.

(I'll never understand when people think it's relevant to state which song they do or don't want to be at a given position. Do they just like hearing themselves? What does it have to do with contributing to an actual, multi-faceted conversation about the charts? It's not constructive at all, smh)
