I love The Chainsmokers remixes but this is horrible. Sadly we are the generation of selfie.

So are "Internet Friends" and "Molly". I've never heard of either of those songs. "Molly" was a mostly instrumental song by Cedric Gervais released a couple of years ago.

I've never heard of either of those songs. And now you're going to die.LOL. To be fair, neither of those got any CHR airplay. I heard "Internet Friends" in a mixshow once, but that's it.

This isn't even good, nor does it serve a purpose. I just watched the video and got so bored. The instrumental sucks, the random bathroom chatter is annoying and not even remotely funny, not even in an ironic way. It's just... dull. I don't understand why this has a chance of becoming the next "The Fox," "Harlem Shake," "Gangnam Style," etc. I hated all of those, but even those feel like Grammy-worthy masterpieces compared to this.

I was still a tyke in 82 but this Soul Sucker became Frank Zappa's Only Top 40 hit... Five words have NEVER been so cringe-worthy as "Gag me with a spoon" What I'm getting at is #Selfie is a million times better than Valley Girl. The beat is on point & Hate if you want but, this is the world we live in today. Crazy thing is...I REALLY like this track & it deserves to become a modest top 20 hit. Don't Hassle the hoff! David Hasselhoff wasn't the only celebrity featured in the video. A lot of popular EDM faves were also included, such as Steve Aoki, Adrian Lux, the boys of Cash Cash and Krewella's own Jahan Yousaf. (I would know about the latter. I follow her on Instagram.) UPDATE: This was #5 on KIIS FM's IHeartRadio Top 9 @ 9 yesterday.

I'm not trying to talk badly about this song but, this is just so blah to me. I don't really find this interesting or good in any way. Who cares if you want to take a selfie or if you took a good one? I sure don't. Oh, well, it is what it is, I guess.

I like this a lot as a super zeitgeisty viral video, but it makes even less sense on radio than Harlem Shake did.

Kids just embrace the pure "fun" of this track. It's not meant to solve world hunger or cure cancer! It's just a pure definition of the times we live in today. I'm not sorry for really liking the track & you shouldn't either.
Plus it could be a billion times worse...see Rebecca Black
So embrace the Selfie as it hasn't even YET to Breakout...but it soon will

I briefly listened to a few seconds (I'm busy listening to other music) and it sounds like it would be awesome to hear at the club! Not so much on the radio....
But that's the purpose of this song. So it works!

Did anyone see this on Hits Daily Double? : "Omigod, like, there's totally a bidding war brewing for The Chainsmokers, the EDM phenoms behind the unstoppable "#Selfie" (Dim Mak). Warner Bros., RCA and Republic are, you know, like, vying for it or #whatever. Adam Alpert and Oliver Luckett are the managers, and they're twerking right now. The song's attitude is reminiscent of a breakout hit from another era, Frank Zappa's "Valley Girl."
So there you go. Looks like this is not just going to go away quietly.

And the update from hits: "THINK THEY'LL TAKE A SELFIE (UPDATE): The competition for The Chainsmokers' runaway hit "#Selfie" is over, and the winner is the man who never met a smash he didn't like, Republic's relentless Monte Lipman. All that's left for Monte to do now is to take a selfie of himself and send it to us for posting. You're on the clock, dude."
