In the spirit of the Super Bowl, who do you think will (or who would you like to see) headline next year's halftime show?

Bon Jovi are still due for a show at some point, I think. Kenny Chesney will also probably get one at some point. If they want to go to contemporary mainstream route again, Pink would be a great choice.

If it's going to be another "new" artist, I vote for Taylor Swift. She can put on a hell of a show. She could even bring along some of her country-music friends to please the straight/redneck viewers.

She should probably have an album out in the Fall too, so she'll have lots of new material next February too.

Saying the first name that came to my mind, and it certainly wouldn't be a bad choice: P!nk.

I personally don't think Taylor Swift has enough entertainment value to carry a Superbowl halftime show, thats not a knock much accomplished and legendary artists don't either.
Janelle Monae can Pink can

Bon Jovi and since NBC is broadcasting the Super Bowl next year maybe they will put Maroon 5 as Halftime show to promote "The Voice".

I have a feeling they are going to bring a veteran act like Bon Jovi to perform. This year would've made sense considering it was held in New Jersey but maybe they will next year, perhaps with a feature by a more contemporary artist.

Contemporary, pop-leaning acts seem to have done well for them in the past three years, so I'd like to think they'd continue on that trend. Pink seems like a solid choice--has become known for the theatrics of her performances, inoffensive music, etc. I know Bruno wasn't as hugely known as past performers, but I still feel like he was known for bigger and more showy performances than the likes of Taylor Swift and Maroon 5, both of whom are big enough and have a strong enough catalog to pull it off, but I'm not sure how sensational their performances would be (Taylor would be a better fit than Maroon 5--saw them this summer and they were pretty flat).

Bruno was sooooo good but I'm still salty at the obvious missed opportunity of having Bon Jovi in New Jersey. This was such an obvious choice that the only logical conclusion, to me, is that the SB committee wants to veer away from the older 'veteran' acts more and go with more youthful artists. That doesn't necessarily mean someone as new as Bruno, who only has two albums under his belt, but in general 21st century acts over 20th century ones. Shame Justin screwed himself over, he'd be the perfect choice but I doubt he'll ever be invited again seeing as he's part of the reason we had to watch living fossils for almost a decade after. (No offense to the fossils or their legacies)
Male acts: - I can see Maroon 5 being asked if NBC pulls strings. - Really, I feel like Usher is one of the most logical choices - technically not a 21st-century singer but he still has a 'young' persona and a huge arsenal of hits. I worry a little bit about his joints these days, but he's generally still well-regarded as a performer...that could be a great show. - not sure if there are any new-ish country acts who should be in the running, since their appeal is fairly non-crossover.
Females: - Pink, for reasons mentioned by other people. Great performer, broad appeal. - I don't think Rihanna's a good performer but her catalog of hits is so strong, and her appeal more evenly spread among men and women, that she can basically get away with her standard pussy pats as long as the production is heavily loaded and she's sober. - Katy would be a bigger stretch but like Rihanna, I think her stack of huge hits + very big production might mitigate her more feminine-leaning appeal and the fact that she's not the greatest performer. Give her an autotune mic and I think she'll be fine. - Taylor is not who comes to mind as the type of act people 'expect' to be a halftime performer, imo the perception is still that her audience is predominantly female and that she wouldn't appeal as much to the male viewers. This may or may not be true, but I think that view would prevent her from being asked to perform anytime soon. I feel the same about Carrie. This + above about male country acts not having crossover appeal would apply to any other female act.
Veterans, if that's how they're feeling: - Bon Jovi - U2 - Foo Fighters - RHCP really could and should have their own show - If they ever go with a rap artist Jay-Z is the obvious - and really only - choice, but I don't know what the odds are of that. - If they decide to go country, Brad, Keith, Kenny, or Tim would all be good choices.

Give her an autotune mic and I think she'll be fine. I think this has the potential to be a disaster of such epic proportions that it actually kills her otherwise titanium-seeming career. I'm all for it.

They should go with a (relatively) newer act again. They took a risk going with Bruno Mars, and it became the most watched halftime show ever. No one saw that coming. He even beat the previous record, which was held by, arguably, the biggest living pop star. Who the hell really wants a Bon Jovi halftime show in 2015?
P!nk and Rihanna both seem like possible options. The only male act I think would be a good choice is Justin, but that's probably never happening ever again.

I realize this is probably a joke, but nobody will remember that song existed a year from now. The reason I put them together is because they both are managed by Jay Brown. He might be able to get them to do the halftime show together. If they did, the duet would fit in nicely, even if its not a huge hit. They could perform just a couple of lines from the song. As for Shakira, she's performed at the world cup a few times and has done an NBA halftime show. She's been around for a very long time and is one of the most popular artists on social media. She's performed on almost every single major show in the whole world. Most people would be curious to see what she could do.

If Shakira were to do the Halftime Show, I would hope that she'd do it without Rihanna. Lady Gaga is another choice that I could see working, because of all of her theatrics and versatility as a performer. Katy Perry would also be a smart choice because the general public loves her, even though most of Pulse is not nearly as keen on her (myself included). Since some mentioned country acts above, I could see Luke Bryan doing it. If not him, Tim McGraw or Kenny Chesney as well. Taylor Swift would be a solid choice, and The Band Perry once they have more hits/albums under their belt could be a good choice -- they are really fantastic performers and well on their way.

During the superbowl a lot of people were saying on twitter that they would have preferred Riri/Shak. I mean if I only followed Josh Groban fans I'm sure I'd see a lot of people saying they'd prefer to see him. ANYWAY I don't think a non-crossover Country act would work because it would isolate half the regions in this country, so Taylor is just about the only one I could see working. I think Pink is a pretty safe bet- she's got the hits and she's family friendly enough. As far as veteran acts, I could see Red Hot Chili Peppers doing it on their own, although since they accompanied Bruno maybe not now.

Honey, Pink gonna bring some "Glitter in the Air" leap out of the jumbotron and do some gymnastics and ballet and steal the superbowl. I think Pink is the next performer because she is recognized now as a enduring artist who is a top notch performer.

Yeah, P!nk would be a logical choice. What about Jennifer Lopez? She's a great performer.
Rihanna's catalog would be amazing for something like this, but I don't feel she's ready, as a performer, yet.

P!nk or Rihanna please. I'd be okay with Bon Jovi if the choose Alecia for 2016.

P!nk comes to mind for me. She has the overall talent; agility, athleticism, KILLER voice, stamina, etc... She also has a great catalog.
Katy Perry can rarely pull off a 3-4 minute performance, nevermind a 10-15 minute segment. She has decent music, but she doesn't have the agility of artists like; Beyonce, Bruno, or P!nk to pull it off - it could be a disaster (although she DOES have the catalog, I'll give her that).
Taylor Swift could pull off a great show, but she'd have to work extra hard on staging and such to distract people from her mediocre voice and the boring content of her songs.
... With all this said, considering Garth Brooks' plan to launch his massive three-year tour soon, I wouldn't be shocked in the least if he kicked it off with this gig; it kinda makes sense. It would be an excellent way to kick off the American leg of his tour. It's starting this year, but only international dates (Ireland) have been announced thus far. Therefore, I'm putting money on Garth Brooks for next year. Which then means you can expect guests along the lines of; Trisha Yearwood, Taylor Swift, Kenny Chesney, Carrie Underwood, Blake Shelton, Miranda Lambert, Kelly Clarkson, etc...

Well. if it were based solely on who I think would put on a great show my biased answer would be Janelle Monae. Realistically though that would never happen of course, but I'd say her performance/live skills are pretty tremendous.
