Is she in Cuba for her birthday? I have seen a couple of items that seem to indicate that she is. Edit: Looks like she is. Pop star Madonna visits Cuba to celebrate birthdayVideo of her being followed by paparazzi in Havana. She looks pretty fabulous.

The Immaculate Collection would be truly immaculate if it added the top song from every album at Warner from Bedtime Stories to Hard Candy. So the tracklist would be something like this:
1. Holiday 2. Lucky Star 3. Borderline 4. Like a Virgin 5. Material Girl 6. Crazy For You 7. Into The Groove 8. Live To Tell 9. Papa Don't Preach 10. Open Your Heart 11. La Isla Bonita 12. Like a Prayer 13. Express Yourself 14. Cherish 15. Vogue 16. Take a Bow 17. Ray Of Light 18. Music 19. Hung Up 20. 4 Minutes
now THAT would be an immaculate collection!!!!(20 of the biggest songs in POP music ever!)

I can't believe this woman is almost 60! Incredible! Happy birthday to an icon of music.
Also, I decided to listen to Bedtime Stories in full. I think the last time I did was in high school. Wow. Easily one of my favorite albums of hers from start to finish, even though it is very much a product of its time. That chill, laidback 90's hip-hop/trip-hop vibe really suited her.

I love when she ventured into the whole jeep / new jack / hip hop vibe with the Bedtime Stories album. I love the album, but the only criticism I will say about it is that the styles sort of were all over the place from song to song...she went jeep / hip hop with Human Nature, Inside of Me (samples Alliyah)...acoustic R&B with Secret...lush ballads with Take a Bow, Forbidden Love, Love Tried to Welcome Me...techno with Bedtime Story. It is clear she worked with a large number of different producers, but overall, I really do love the album. I think MDNA and Rebel Heart are similar in that regard as well. It is not a BAD thing, it is just apparent when the styles change abruptly.

t, "4 Minutes": has no business on an "Immaculate Collection." It was a big global hit, but it just isn't on the level of the others. Happy 58th to the undisputed, total-package Queen.

Speaking of "Bye Bye Baby," I listened to Erotica the other day. It's underrated, though certainly not by a number of fans. I like it, and appreciate that she took the approach she did, but, for me, it has too much of an "icy" feel to be in contention for my favorite.

I got Erotica from BMG Music Club (OMG, dating myself ) and it's definitely my least favorite Madonna album. The only songs I like from it are Erotica, Deeper and Deeper, Bad Girl, and Rain. Although, I have to say, since Rain is one of my all-time favorite Madonna songs, I have to respect the album.

For me, my least favorites are probably American Life (though the remix of Nobody Knows Me is fantastic) and Like a Virgin. I know LAV is a classic, but it really sounds dated and never stood the test of time for me.
Love this performance of Nobody Knows Me.

The icy feel is what I love about it...not that I want every Madonna album to have that feeling but I'm glad she had one that did. My favorite top 5 Madonna albums are: 1. Ray Of Light 2. Like A Prayer 3. Erotica 4. Confessions On A Dancefloor 5. Bedtime Stories, Music, True Blue (tie) I have not included Rebel Heart in my rankings because I need to let more time pass before I can judge it in a all time way.

Oh, I'm glad she did, too. "Waiting" is one of my favorite tracks of hers, with possibly the best closing line (heck, lines period) in a track EVER. :)

Words is a masterpiece!
Erotica has really great songs but Like a Prayer and Confessions are the albums that have all great songs! Ok, I don't like one song on Confessions and closing 'track' on LAPrayer
my top 5 Madonna albums
1. Like a Prayer 2. Confessions on a dancefloor 3. Bedtime Stories 4. Erotica 5. Hard Candy
Rabel Heart is her weakest album for me Even MDNA has a few songs I like

This is one of my faves and a pure example as to why she is a brilliant performer. It's intimate, strong, a little feisty and completely fabulous. She's in peak physical condition too, inspires me often.

Funny comment on CNN today. Ana Navarro (Republican journalist / political commentator) was on a panel discussing Donald Trump's latest flip on a particular topic. She suddenly blurt out: "There is only one person who gets to re-invent themselves after age 50 and that is Madonna. Donald Trump, you are no Madonna!"

www.huffingtonpost.com/le-kalikow/is-donald-trump-really-ma_b_11610684.htmlIs Donald Trump Really Madonna In Drag? 08/22/2016 01:14 pm ET | Updated 36 minutes ago L.E. Kalikow Author of the memoir Sex, No Drugs & Rock ‘N’ Roll (Memoirs of a Music Junkie) Donald Trump’s entire campaign has been a massive publicity stunt that has gotten completely out of hand. Trump’s candidacy has never been more serious than Pat Paulsen’s, Roseanne Barr or Stephen Colbert (As noted in my previous ‘Andrew Dice Clay For Vice-President!’). The Huffington Post had it right in the first place when they initially covered him as ‘Entertainment.’ In the days before inane reality programming blurred the lines between satire and stupidity, Paulsen’s campaign was obviously taken as a political statement about the duplicity of the Nixon administration. Colbert made it clear from the outset that he was only joking. And Roseanne Barr might have been delusional enough to think the public would accept a loud, slovenly housewife as President. But reality star, and seemingly serious businessman Donald Trump, offered a more plausible optic. Then, taking a page from Madonna’s past egotistical self-promotion, playing political ‘Truth or Dare’ for exposure, rating’s hungry ‘news’ outlets played along with the consummate con-man, accidently fooling a large gullible section of the public into thinking he was for real. Like Madonna’s controversial and outlandish statements and behavior kept her in the headlines and sold millions of records, Trump has reveled in the spotlight building his brand. But unlike Madonna, who actually had talent and the ability to back up her braggadocio with performance, Trump suddenly finds himself in the deep end of a public pool, treading water and unable to get out. So what does he do now? At this point, with the adulation of his pep rallies keeping his ego afloat, he’s already gone farther and longer than he probably ever expected. He can’t go back, and getting out of the pool would only reveal that the emperor had no clothes in the first place. So he might as well hang in there, tugging on Hillary every so often to keep his head above water. Meanwhile the dumbed-down media continues to cover the campaign like a sporting event, creating and exploiting controversy whenever possible to sell more advertising at the expense of democracy. In the end, if some terrorist title wave or Russian email submarines Hillary with the aid of contrived attention grabbing headlines, Trump probably figures he can then pull himself out, hide the campaign funds he didn’t spend on advertising in the Caimans, declare personal bankruptcy, license his name to the White House, then hire professionals with taxpayer financing to do the job he was never qualified for in the first place.

I keep forgetting to mention, I heard "Ghosttown" at the restaurant where my mother and I had lunch last week. I freaked out and was so surprised since the single is over a year old. #IMPACT
