jump- I am serious. :) It's not bad, but I find it kinda sluggish, and I skip it sometimes when listening to that album. Now, "Forbidden Love" (2005), that's another story. :) Feel exactly the same way...actually I skip Forbidden Love and Love Tried to Welcome Me...the 1,2 punch of those two are a bit of a snoozefest for me. However, Forbidden Love 2005 is one of my fave tracks on COADF

Oh and since we are talking about ballads, here is a song that was recorded for Something to Remember, but was cut. It is called "I Can't Forget." It's not bad. I believe it is a David Foster collaboration.

^I forgot all about I Can't Forget haha
It's a nice example of M's modest vocal charms. She totally doesn't "take it to the church" and thank goodness as there is just a simplicity and purity in her tone and phrasing that I find so consistently listenable & aesthetically pleasing.
Anyway, it's interesting to read about what songs people skip when listening to an M album. I have always skipped certain songs consistently:
1st Album - Holiday (way too long) LAV - Over & Over (too perky) TB - La Isla Bonita (too adult contemporary amidst the other tunes) LAP - Express Yourself (cheesy production/overwhelming horn section in album version) Erotica - Thief of Hearts (too blaring, brittle, tinny and grating) BS - IRBYL (just don't care for it) ROL - Swim (kind of dull) Music - NP (too much autotune) AL - I'm So Stupid (same as above) Confessions - Isaac (too Cafe del Mar) HC - Candy Shop (atrocious album version; should have been the MDNA version instead!) MDNA - Gang Bang (tuneless, if you've heard it once that's plenty...sorry don't hate me) RH - Heartbreak City (kind of a buzzkill)

Oh..if we are gonna focus on songs we skip...then here is mine:
1st Album - I Know It (though barely, I pretty much like the first album)
LAV - Shoo-Be-Doo (for me, this is her most dated sounding album, so it's really hard for me to be fair. I don't revisit it much).
TB - True Blue, Jimmy Jimmy, and have to be in the mood for White Heat
LAP - Love Song
Erotica - In This Life, Did You Do It?
BS - Fordbidden Love, Love Tried to Welcome Me
ROL - Swim and Candy Perfume Girl
Music - Gone and I Deserve It
AL - Argh..a lot of the album sadly...but mainly do not like Intervention, Easy Ride, I'm So Stupid, X-Static Process, Mother and Father
Confessions - Nothing...love this album
HC - Heartbeat, Incredible, Spanish Lesson
MDNA - Some Girls, Superstar, I f**ked Up, B-Day Song
RH - Illuminati, Bitch I'm Madonna, Iconic, Body Shop, Auto-Tune Baby, Best Night, Beautiful Scars, Borrowed Time, Graffiti Heart (ok, there were a lot here..girl needed an editor)

You KNOW CNN didn't cut away because they were letting her speak for them. After the way Trump has been trashing CNN, they were glad to have someone tell him "f*ck you"

Madonna looks flawless. Loved her speech so much that it solidified even more why I love this woman.

I haven't been into Madonna for a while now but I stand proudly with her and all of our beloved sisters today and always in solidarity. I'm proud to be a part of the resistance.

For someone who is so brilliantly smart and gifted, she comes across as incredibly trashy and unsophisticated. I've been a fan since the first time I heard PA in a club and admired her business savvy and continually outsmarting all doubters, she could reach people far better without the f-bombs and crudeness. She should be smart enough to know that catering to her base isn't the point - it's to get the message out to all the others. Instead, it's just completely dismissed. It's too bad that a lot of what she's been saying and doing sounds more like hate ('blowing up the White House') than love. BTW - I'd love for her to channel her feelings into new music with a message - great pop songs with something to say. And what make our country different than so many others, is that we are free to peacefully express ourselves - so I may not agree with the tactics or part of message - I fully support the right to be heard.

My phone just alerted me that Madonna is trending on YouTube with the White House comment, which if taken in full context, is nothing bad at all. #wechooselove
So many haters out there, and most of them white, middle-aged women. Yuck.

She looked really good (young) during that speech and her diction was Evita-like! (But I wonder if Eva Peron ever said the f-word)

Is she stupid or what, how is this helping to express her views and then apologizing, although she has never showed much smartness in her previous life rather than being a great business woman, which puts her in the same category as current president.

I think what she was trying to say was you have two choices...resort to violence ("...yes, I have thought about blowing up the white house) or you can choose love....and she is choosing love, etc. However, her delivery was poor. I personally think she could have said you can choose "hate or love" and have gotten the same point across. She likes to shock and be controversial, and sometimes she doesn't use it to her best advantage.

Sorry, but I wouldn't compare her to that man. They are both one of the most successful business persons in the world, at the same time their IQ seems to be pretty average and especially one even lower than average. For me they are not bright exceptional people, that´s for sure.

As a songwriter, she has always used metaphor to express herself. And as an entertainer, she tops off metaphor with shock value.

Madonna's heart is definitely in the right place. I have never doubted that. Sometimes, she is either quick to a)shock/"cause a commotion" or b) speak without thinking. This should come as no surprise to anyone who has followed her throughout her career. Do I believe Madonna really wants to blow up the White House and kill people? LOL of course not but she needs to be a little more careful, especially with this administration we have now. Express yourself, sure, but do it with at least a modicum of thought and self-awareness.

Yea it's like let them "investigate" her. What a waste of time and money. I understand maybe you have to cuz it's the law, but she's certainly not serious lol. Thus a waste of time. She's been ruffling government and the Vaticans' feathers since 1984. Queen has them SHOOK.
